Höferová, Iveta ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
Solved area is located in the center of Vyškov and is directly connected to the square. It forms one end of the chip Square. The proposal was to create a dominant object, which will close the square and end with the visual axis, which in recent years is not very flattering. The building would be dominant, but only so that did not compete with dominant main square, with the town hall. At the same time the goal was to design a functional building, which, thanks to the cartridge housing, shops and bring more people into the center and revive him.
Brno Skyscraper
Gebauer, Pavel ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The architectural-urban design of the skyscraper responds to the proposed territorial study of the South District located near the historic center of Brno. The currently developing area is defined by the area of the new main railway station, the Svratka river and Opuštěná street. This new representative unit lacks an element that would make it unique even from a distant perspective. As well as the historical center with its cathedral of St. Peter and Paul defines the place, the skyscraper complementing the space of the new main station creates an authentic orientation element of the new urban district representing the innovative principles of the city's development. The location of the high-rise landmark near the main entrance of the new Brno railway station helps in easier orientation in the area. The vertical mass of the skyscraper contrasts with the vast and relatively low mass of the station hall. The composition of the building responds to the urban structure and location in relation to the historic center. The base of the building fully respects the regulations and the height level of the street in which it is located. The crown of the skyscraper rotates around its axis and thus directly reacts to the city center by its rotation, thus creating a dialogue between history and the future. The skyscraper is designed as a multifunctional object primarily represented by the function of a hotel with a congress center. These functions are also complemented by secondary units in the form of cafes, bars or restaurants. However, the building also has other services for users, such as wellness, fitness and massage facilities. The last floors of the skyscraper are designed as public. The functional content of the crown of the skyscraper is completed by a cafe and a sky bar with a brilliant views.

The objective of the diploma thesis is the new building of Cancer Prevention Centre, first of its kind in the Czech Republic. The site is located on steep terrain of the south hillside of Žlutý kopec in Brno, which is a part of Masaryk Oncological Hospital complex. The aim of the Cancer Prevention Centre is to attract the citizens’ attention and invite them to undergo a preventive medical check-up with the potential to save hundreds of lives every year. The project takes this fact in consideration and strives to find ways leading not only towards establishing new relationship between the building and the public, but also towards connecting the city centre and nearby by residential area with the hospital complex. The three volumes of the buildings create a dynamic composition and therefore complete the characteristic development of Masaryk Oncological Centre. The main concept however revolves around the motive of instability, balance and journey which are all linked to tumour diseases.

Skoupilová, Michaela ; Obrtlík,, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on project of sustainable urban structure in Náměšť nad Oslavou. Specifically, in southeast area of the city between pond Rathan and dam Vícenický žleb. This urban-planning study endeavours to create a suitable structure for city area behind railways. There are relevant factors which influence the proposal, such as connection of the parcel to traffic network of the city and breaking down barrier of the railway. Other factors are slope of the terrain and significant nature and historical character of the city. The concept is based on perception of the city area behind the railway, as separated district of the city which must be connected to current structure. Conception of the area uses historical legacy of path. This path copy axis, which connects castle, statue on main historical square and Cristian cross on forest horizon in designed area. It is important to support natural character and genius loci of the whole city. The urban study emphasizes the effectivity of the land use, traffic connection, scale of the city, permeability of the new designed area, importance of pedestrian’s movement and cancelation of residential monofunction by creating of central public space. Placement of dominants is important due to view of the city.
Design of settlement structure of contemporary city in historical context.
Macholánová, Petra ; Obrtlík,, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with an urban study on the territory of Červený kopec, specifically in the part of the territory of Stráň. It is a locality stated as a brownfield Kohnova cihelna. The proposal aims to make the most of the potential of this site, which lies in its proximity to the city center, the neighborhood of the national natural monument, a significant area of greenery and the views that this place provides due to its topographic situation. A new city district is proposed on the area of 18 hectares, which would cover one of the "brownfield holes" on the map of the city of Brno and at the same time help against the outflow of population to the outskirts of the city and against the creation of urban satellites. Numerous public opinion polls show that they would like to live close to the city, but at the same time especially young families long for their own house in a quiet countryside location. Therefore, a compact development of terraced houses, terrace villas and blocks of flats with private courtyards is proposed here, complemented by quality public space and civic amenities. This new city district would offer housing for about 3,500 new residents.

Zavadil, Ondřej ; Šandera, Lumír (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of the proposal was to solve the development of an urban area on the corner of Nové sady and Úzká streets in the vicinity of the historic city center. In the design, I tried to create a large number of interior spaces with views of the surroundings, especially the main landmarks of the city such as Petrov and Špilberk. At the same time, a high dynamic building is created, which is the dominant feature and the jewel of the corner. The concept should bring to the locality not only the cultivation of the territory, but also the opening of space from the surrounding streets and the area in front of Little America thanks to the open parterre, which allows the entire town hall building to pass. Due to the easy walking distance from the city center, quality amenities, a large number of public transport stops, employees and visitors do not necessarily use the city office to transport cars, but in my proposal I count on underground parking under the city hall. I conceived the whole design as an effort to create a Brno jewel, which will not be a barrier but a connection of the surrounding streets.

The aim of the design plan was to solve the development of an uninhabited and uncultivated area on the corner of Nové sady and Úzká streets in close proximity to the historic city center. Due to the creation of a public space and at the same time sufficient sunshine insolation, the space was divided by a passage into a smaller and a larger part. I tried to incorporate a large amount of greenery into the design not only by continuing in the existing alley of trees in Nové sady Street and establishing a new tree line on the opposite side, but also by adding greenery to both masses of the buildings and creating a green inner courtyard with relaxing zones. The concept should bring the locality a total revitalization, culture and access to the area in front of Malá Amerika directly from Nové sady Street, which will connect the two areas and thus not create a square as a nook. Thanks to the easy accessibility to the center, sufficient facilities, the possibility of jobs and cultural activities, the tenants of the apartment building and employee of the office do not necessarily have to use cars for transport. On the ground floor, therefore, I want to include bicycle stands for town hall visitors. In the apartment building I am considering a small station for charging e-bikes accessible from a covered public space and in the basement with facilities for storing the bikes of the residents themselves. I tried to view the whole design as environmentally friendly, with minimum built-up areas and hard surfaces, the creation of new areas of urban greenery and, above all, the most accessible to the citizens of the city.

Abstract: The Bachelor´s thesis is finding a design solution for the new City hall situated in Brno. It replaces the current one which has a lack of space. Primary quest is to revitalize the area by bringing a new functions. Thanks to its location it has a big potencial to become nice and attractive place. Based on urbanistic studies in this area, it has been decided to add an apartment houses next to the city hall. The important part of the concept is the light, which is forming the shape of the buildings. But the problem lies on the top of the block, where it is almost impossible to get the sun beams into the building. Therefore the top part is removed from the mass form, creating two blocks. The first one is moving foward. The second one is pushed back, opening the space in front of the City hall and also letting the sun beams to spread in-between the two blocks.
