Forwarder's role in international trade

The bachelor thesis presents an integral overview of the forwarding branch. First of all there are described the services provided by the forwarder and reasons for using them. An overview of the legislative framework of the forwarding branch follows. Afterwards the most important professional associations (FIATA and SSL) are presented and the possible ways of segmentation and characterization of the forwarding companies are outlined. In the second part of the thesis is the theoretic knowledge integrated into the practice of the company DHL Global Forwarding. The present development of the forwarder market in naval shipping is analysed and it is described the organization of import and also export cases.

This diploma thesis deals with issue of maritime piracy, which is nowadays one of the significant international problems. Maritime piracy has substantial economic and other consequences, which increasingly motivate the international community to solve the maritime piracy problem. This thesis primarily focuses on these consequences and on ways of solving the maritime piracy problem.

The Analysis of the Logistical Part of the Lend-Lease Act (Public Law 77-11)

The diploma thesis discusses the issues of help mainly by the United States under the Lend- Lease Act during the Second World War. The theoretical part deals with the historical context and the economic s and political framework of the rise of the programme with an emphasis on the USA. The following part is focused on the quantification of the whole extent. A great part of the thesis is devoted to the issues of help by the Soviet Union. The emphasis is placed not only on the content, but mainly on the logistic issues. Following the historical context there are also four major transportation corridors discussed and their occupancy at the time, material flow and mode of transport are analysed.

Maritime transportation in international trade

The diploma thesis gives an overview of the role of maritime transportation in the international trade. It deals with the history, important documents used in the shipping operations, needed contracts and maritime organizations. Concerning the modern trends in maritime transportation, the containerization is pointed out as well as the actual image of shipping market which was affected by the global financial crisis. The thesis also mentions current trends in shipping industry, its challenges and warnings. A closer look is devoted to the Asian region and especially to China. To conclude, part of the paper focuses on the view to the future and an effort to estimate the development of the shipping industry in the next decade.

Groupage service in maritime transportation and export from Czech Republic

The topic of this thesis is groupage service in maritime transportation and its use for export out of Czech Republic. In the theoretical and methodological part I am defining the main terms in maritime transportation and maritime transportation in general. In the thesis I am describing the role of maritime transportation in the Czech Republic emphasized by statistics. Further I am writing about containerization and main container types because those are very important for the groupage service. In the practical part I am describing the processes of exports groupage service (LCL) within company Austromar spol. s r.o. on which I am applying business cases to to show how those processes work in reality. One of the business cases is transportation of hazardous material. In the last part of thesis I am comparing the direct and non-direct container with example of the freight charges calculation.

Srovnání různých druhů přeprav v relaci Praha-Osaka

Diplomová práce se zabývá porovnáním různých druhů přeprav - silniční, námořní a letecké. Dále také provádí analýzu přepravních firem různých druhů přeprav a jejich služeb v relaci Praha - Osaka. Práce zahrnuje služby společností Panalpina, DHL, ICS, FedEx a České pošty. Zásilky obsahují dva druhy komodit: med a dřevěné hračky. Součástí práce jsou i vývozní a dovozní podmínky vybraných komodit.

Práce se zaobírá uplatněním satelitní navigace v automobilové a námořní dopravě. Představuje nejznámější satelitní navigační systémy. Popisuje jejich historický vývoj a jejich činnost. Práce se zaobírá dalším uplatněním satelitních přijímačů v nákladní automobilové dopravě při výběru elektronického mýta. Porovnává rakouský (mikrovlnný) a německý(satelitní) model.

International Trade and Maritime Transport of Oil and its environmental consequences

Ropa je strategickou surovinou. Při přepravě ropy se uplatňuje stále vlivnější ekologický faktor a ohledy na trvale udržitelný rozvoj naší planety. Množství mezinárodních úmluv se věnuje bezpečnosti námořní dopravy, prevenci havárií, ale i odpovědnosti a prostředkům na nápravu škod ropného znečištění. Jak vyplývá ze studií OECD společenské náklady ropného znečištění jsou značné. Vyplacené náhrady škod, které zdaleka nepokryjí veškeré náklady, se promítají i do ceny ropy, ovšem jen v malé míře. Větší finanční zapojení ropného průmyslu do úhrady nákladů ropného znečištění by tak nemělo vést k výraznému zvýšení ceny ropy a negativním výkyvům ve světové ekonomice.

Global transportation trends with a focus on maritime transport

Práce je rozdělena do dvou okruhů. Zaprvé doprava obecně, její postavení ve světové ekonomice a mezinárodním obchodu, funkce a faktory ovlivňující rozvoj dopravy, nástin globálních problémů v dopravě (energetický, environmentální a problém bezpečnosti), druhy dopravních systémů ve světě, vývoj oborové struktury dopravy ve vybraných významných regionech světového hospodářství a na tomto základě nástin budoucího vývoje pro jednotlivé obory dopravy. Druhá část se věnuje nákladní námořní dopravě: vývoj a vazba ke světové ekonomice, její komoditní a teritoriální struktura (podle toků objemu zboží a podle příslušnosti vlastnictví resp. registrace obchodní tonáže), specifika námořního přepravního trhu a aktuální vývoj sazeb námořného), kontejnerizace (faktory růstu).
