Awareness and readiness of fire protection units
KOTĚŠOVEC, Tomáš
The Bachelor thesis solves the problem knowledge of third category of Fire rescue units in the territory of the Pilsen region, ie their knowledge of vocational training. The task was to find out if the knowledge of the training is at a sufficient level. The data was obtained through a questionnaire survey, which was attended by a total of 104 respondents from the third category of Fire Rescue Units in the Pilsen Region. This survey was conducted from April to June 2018. The questionnaire was distributed in printed form (Appendix 1) to prevent possible search of information on the internet. The questionnaire was conceived in six thematic areas according to the basic training that each member must pass before joining the unit. The aim of the thesis was "To assess the current state of awareness of third category of Fire rescue in the territory of the Pilsen Region". Here the hypothesis was set: "The awareness of the third category of Fire rescue units in the territory of the Pilsen region does not reach 75%." The results, which are shown in Table 19, show the awareness is below 75%. Therefore, we accept a zero hypothesis. From the results of the work it is clear that the knowledge of training in the Third Category of Fire rescue units in the Pilsen Region is very low. It is necessary to modify the training system and to find ways to ensure that members have sufficient knowledge to carry out activities in the Corps of Volunteer Firemen of the municipality. These results can be used to improve of the training.

The main objective is widening of existing posttraumatic research in professional rescuers with findings from multinational sample of firefighters. Sample consisted of firefighters from Czech Republic (N=302) and six other European countries (N=2241). Study was carried out through questionnaire-based data gathering. Symptoms of posttraumatic stress were assessed via self-rating measure Impact of event scale - revised, posttraumatic growth via Posttraumatic growth inventory - short form. Comparison of Czech and European firefighters was made with the premise that among members of this professional group there would be found no differences. Subtle dissimilarities were, however, observed in several measured...

Application of the Time Series Analysis for Prediction
Nováčková, Monika ; Hušek, Roman (advisor) ; Formánek, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis attempts to predict daily number of firefighter incidents in the Central Bohemia Region and in the Region of Hradec Králové to improve firefighter shift planning. The analysis is based on a dataset of firefighter incidents from the period between the years 2008 and 2012. Econometric models, capturing yearly and weekly patterns and weather impact were estimated and used for long-term prediction. The first part of the thesis provides a description of tests applied to residuals and other econometric tests used in this study. Then linear regression is applied to model weather impact and effects of days of week and months of year. In the next part regression with AR errors, (S)ARMA models and regression with (S)ARMA errors are estimated. All these models are compared according to properties of residuals and out-of-sample mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). The most accurate models predict daily number of incidents two months ahead with MAPE slightly above 20% which is considerably better than the benchmark Holt-Winters method. Regression models with (S)ARMA errors produce relatively accurate long-term forecasts and its error terms are uncorrelated. Therefore, they can be considered suitable for long-term prediction of firefighter incidents.
