Specifics of the japanese corporate environment and cooperation with the Czech Republic with examples sampled from companies

Japanese economy is in the second place of the world chart of the developed countries. Its business is based on the tertiary sector. Its economic growth has been influenced mostly by exports, which highly exceeded imports. Nowadays Japan has become one of the victims of the world financial crisis as well, which will probably affect negatively its up to now well-balanced economic conditions. Japan has cooperated with the Czech Republic since 1957 (after several years without communication). Their mutual relationships have been developing well and the business cooperation is one of the most important in the central Europe. While negotiating with Japanese it is necessary to pay a great attention to the cultural differences between European and Asian culture.

Cílem práce je popsat trh právních služeb v České republice a advokátní kanceláře jako jejich nejvýznamnější poskytovatele, specifikovat typy firem na něm působící a vymezit klíčové faktory jejich úspěchu, jak obecně, tak s ohledem na skupinu, do které firma patří. Objektem výzkumu proto jsou v první řadě strategie advokátních kanceláří, jakožto prostředky k dosažení klíčových faktorů úspěchu. Práce vymezuje prvky úspěšné strategie aplikovatelné na jakoukoli advokátní kancelář v České republice, a také postihuje odlišnosti v strategiích jednotlivých skupin advokátních kanceláří, vyplývající z jejích zaměření, zemi původu a specifických vlastností. Práce se rovněž zabývá strategickým významem corporate social responsibility.

Effects of MNC on the Czech market

My thesis concentrates on a specific Czech company, owned by a foreign multinational corporation and its effects on the Czech market. The name of the company is Eurest, Ltd., its owner is a british company Compass Group PLC. The thesis is dividend into two main parts. First, theoretical, deals with globalization, FDI and multinational corporations in general. The second, practical part is focused on the description of the company's activities, offered products and services and the internal affairs. This thesis also describes relationships with customers, suppliers and other important subjects involved in business with Eurest. It also describes and analyzes particular effects and indicators it has had on the Chech market over the period from 2002 to 2007. The future plans of the company are also described.

Promotion of the CSR concept in the Czech Republic

This final thesis describes the core of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concept, monitors its development and its present role in the Czech Republic and the world. In the practical part of this thesis I focus on the institutions in the field of CSR in the Czech Republic, with emphasis on the Business Leaders Forum. I reveal the knowledge and the attitude of the target groups (managers, university students) towards the concept. In the last part of the thesis I suggest measures for higher efficiency of the promotion of the CSR concept in the Czech Republic.

The market of CRM systems and future development

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to create an overview of analytic CRM systems which are offered in the Czech Republic with the emphasis on systems which can be used for marketing processes of the firms. The overview contains the reflection of new trends in CRM systems and marketing and the development to the future. In the last decade there is a huge development of CRM systems, which are generally known as sales force automation and less as an instrument for marketing management of the companies. Last but not least CRM is mistaken with information systems, even if the CRM concept is known for a lot of years and was developed from marketing, which is very often forgotten. The topic of this diploma thesis is originally view on CRM from marketing perspective and creation of compact view of analytic CRM systems, which are offered in the Czech Republic. Emphasis is put on using of these systems for marketing management and the target is disproving the myths, which are spoken about CRM as well CRM systems. Orientation of this document is mainly on analytic CRM systems, which has the most development in the last decades and can be used very well for marketing functions in companies. There is also a large development of marketing and CRM systems. The target is also making a summary of these trends and makes a hypothesis if CRM systems are developed according the future of marketing, if the CRM systems manage the reaction on this things.

Specific issues of financial service firms at determining the intristic value of a stock

The principal aim of the thesis is to analyze specific issues of financial service firms in comparison with nonfinancial firms, and to explain how to determine the intristic value of a stock using the fundamental analysis. The particular macroeconomic, industrial and business factors influencing the intristic value of a stock are desribed in detail with the emphasis on the distinctions of financial service firms. A separate chapter is focused on particular methods suitable for determining the intristic value of a financial service firm's stock. The applied section analyzes all the components of the fundamental analysis in detail using Komerční banka's stock as an example. Consequently, the intristic value of the stock is calculated by means of available methods with the decision whether the market pricing is correct.

Three essays on public procurement

The core of thesis lays in quantitative analysis of microeconomic data on public procurement and alternative forms of dealing with public money. It consists of three essays with one common attribute: extensive groundwork with data, including overlaps into legal and technical disciplines. The fist essay examines the relationship between transparency of ownership structure and (i) profits of firms winning public procurement contracts and (ii) competition for the contracts and savings of the public authority. It identifies a significant advantage of firms with opaque ownership structure in terms of access to public money. It concludes with a possible explanation of conflict of interest and corruption, which might channel such advantages. The second essay proposes and tests a novel methodology for benchmarking of contracting authorities. The proposed rating measures a deviation from best practice recommendations in the areas of openness, competition and transparency. Indirectly it measures efficiency and corruption potential in public procurement. The pilot results of the methodology are provided and extensively discussed for a group of Czech municipalities. The thesis begins with the presents the concept, its forms and advantages. Following chapters include the situation in the Czech Republic and in other world countries, including the European Union. At the end there is a chapter about the future trends in the corporate responsibility.
