Traffic situation in region Žilina

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess the traffic situation in the Žilina Region in Slovakia, which reveals its weaknesses. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part explains the theory neccessary for the correct understanding of the given terms in the practical part. In this part, the Žilina Region is represented together with the city of Žilina and also their history, culture and tourism are mentioned. According to introduced current situation in the transport sector, the examination of the possible shortcomings is implied. In the conclusion there are indentified deficiencies, on the basis of which proposals are made to improve this situation.

Resume Rendition of public services within integrated transport systems The purpose of my thesis is study of public transportation as a public service, which is provided in integrated transport systems. The thesis is composed of eight chapters and introduction. It introduces in with brief story to the subject of thesis and defines key terms for this thesis. The competitiveness of public transport on example of the Pardubice Region Abstract This diploma thesis is devoted to the competitiveness of public transport in the municipalities of the Pardubice Region. Competitiveness is understood mainly in terms of the price difference between travel time and cost of public and individual car transport, and also in terms of the real demand in the municipalities, thus the share of commuting by public transport. Other parameters of mode choice, that is understood as the main indicator of competitiveness, is the number of public transport lines and automobilization. The main objective of this work is to determine how public transportation depends on the other transport characteristics of municipalities. To select significant variables, multiple linear regression analysis was used. After that, geographically weighted regression was applied in order to explain the share of commuting from municipalities. Možnosti realizace systému veřejných kol v Brně

The thesis deals with bike sharing systems and the implementation possibilities of such a system in Brno. The theoretical and practical parts of the thesis propose a concept of a bike sharing system for the city of Brno. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the basic principles of bike sharing systems, their history, functionality in selected foreign cities and current situation in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis presents survey results, its goal was to discover current attitudes of Brno's residents to the proposed project of a bike sharing system. The results of the survey show that 53 % of respondents are interested in using the bike sharing system. Based on the results of the survey, analysis of foreign systems and data from the company Homeport, s.r.o., a tariff and placement of stations with bikes are proposed and a financial and economic costs and benefits analysis of the system is given in three options of financing. The results of the financial and economic cost and benefit analysis prove the viability of the bike sharing system in Brno.
Park&Ride system in Brno region

The intensity of car traffic grows worldwide every year. This issue is being resolved by establishing Park&Ride car parks, a combination of car and public transport, at city outskirts. Their purpose is to reduce car congestion. This thesis focuses on targeting the most convenient locations of Park&Ride car parks for passengers travelling to Brno from west and southwest directions – specifically parts of the Brno-venkov and Znojmo districts, with overlap to the Třebíč and Žďár nad Sázavou districts in the Vysočina region. A part of this process is also to evaluate the optimal car park capacity required. The conclusion presents a comparison of the journey time by car alone and that of the Park&Ride system.
Transport-Geographical Attributes of the South Bohemian Region

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the transport-geographical attributes of the South Bohemian Region. Basically, the thesis considers two important characteristics of the settlement structure-transport relationship. These are transport regionalization and hierarchization of the transport centres. Besides the viewpoint of the public transport the diploma thesis also deals with the individual automobile transport. The first chapters describe goals of the thesis and analyse relevant literature. These are followed by detailed methodological part containing the description of the choice of the settlement centres, delimitation of the transport regions and the analysis of hierarchy of the transport nodes. The further chapters analyse the real condition of the South Bohemian Region itself from the points of view of the attributes mentioned above.
The current system of Prague's traffic and evaluation of its development plans

The thesis deals with the problem of current system Prague's traffic and is focused on a public transport and individual automobilism. The main goal of the thesis is to describe and analyse the traffic system in Prague and to define related key problems. It should help to find suitable solutions of described problems. The following target is to evaluate described plans of public transport development. The theoretical part focuses on the general background of road transport, logistics in passenger traffic, dual cycling and also on potential to combine these transport forms. The practical part is then focused on specifics of Prague's traffic system and on plans of its development.
Taking advantage of public transport for marketing purposes

The aim of this diploma thesis is to guide a reader through a process of a creation of a business plan, its structure and content and above that it probes the practicability and profitability of a concrete business plan, which is focused on one of the possibilities how to effectively utilize a potential in a public transport for the marketing purposes. The main idea of this business plan arises from a conviction that existing ordinary advertising mediums in the public transport are not as attractive as they used to be few years ago and so the writer developed a business plan that utilize this scarcity and assume an establishment of a company named MetroVision which will come with a brand new and attractive product. This company is described in this plan in detail, including its financial plan for first five years.
Analysis of integrated transport systems in big cities

V diplomové práci se zabývám integrovanými dopravními systémy velkých měst. V první části mapuji problematiku integrovaných dopravních systémů obecně. Poté uvádím několik příkladů ze zahraničí a podrobněji se věnuji pražské integrované dopravě. V praktické části práce provádím srovnání pražského a mnichovského integrovaného dopravního systému v oblastech územního rozsahu dopravní sítě, tarifu a jízdného, délek tratí a linek a dopravních výkonů. Pomocí SWOT analýzy hodnotím silné a slabé stránky, hrozby a příležitosti pro pražskou integrovanou dopravu. Výsledkem mé práce jsou doporučení a návrhy možností dalšího rozvoje Pražského integrovaného dopravního systému.
