The conflict of national identities and its role in the Macedonian integration to the EU
Tučková, Sabina ; Tejchman, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kouba, Miroslav (referee)
Bachelor thesis Conflict of national identities and its role in the Macedonian integration to the EU describes a recent topic: One of the Western Balkan countries' membership in the EU and problems that it meets. In this regard, Macedonia is specific because its membership is blocked by Greek disagreement with name of the country. Greece accepts Macedonia under the name Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). Because of its similar language and history with Bulgaria, Macedonians hadn't been recognized as a unique nation for a long time. The fact that Macedonia wasn't accepted can still be seen in Macedonian identity and complicates the relations with large Albanian minority. The author in her thesis responds to a question whether the EU really wants to accept Macedonia as a member or not. The author concludes that in the case of the economic crisis, the enlargement is not the priority for the EU. However, sooner or later, expansion to the Balkan region will become a target. Macedonia is in Europe, which means that it naturally belongs to the EU. And the author thinks that the EU membership is necessary for the stabilization of the region and the minimalization of the ethnic disputes.

Šinkovičová, Martina ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bureš, Oldřich (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with the connection between the nature of implemented peacekeeping operation and possible positive output of this activity and thus with successful peacebuilding in the specific context of etnopolitical conflicts. Etnopolitical disputes constitute a vivid challenge aimed towards United Nations organisation. Mainly, because this organisation is one of the main actors of international system in finding solutions of etnopolitical conflicts and because United Nations also proposes concrete tools for their resolving - peacekeeping missions. We work with assumption that the nature of etnopolitical conflict and the nature of conflicting parties involved influence, to an important extent, involvement and impact of peacekeeping operations in resolving these conflicts. Diploma thesis, through the use of theories of origin and solvability of ethnic conflicts, creates the framework within which their more complicated solvability can be explained as well as inhibitors of theoretically successful models. Likewise, the typology of peacekeeping operations is defined and also narrower understanding of peacebuilding, as a set of political and security aspects, is described. Datas from four case studies then offer an opportunity to formulate partial endings and findings of examined causal relation. C lick...

Bojovič, Lola ; Peterková, Jana (advisor) ; Poráziková, Lenka (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the cultural diplomacy of the countries of former Yugoslavia. The work has three objectives. The first objective is to determine whether the practice of cultural diplomacy in ex-Yugoslav countries exists. If it does, the next step is its evaluation. In case it does not exist, it is necessary to find out why. The paper first presents the theoretical framework of cultural diplomacy, which is followed by the main part that introduces the form of practice in each country. Given the new trend that cultural diplomacy represents the information is processed and evaluated with the aid of a variety of foreign sources. Based on the evaluation of the countries, I found out that the practice of cultural diplomacy in some form exists in each of them. The contribution of this work is to map the region that has not been examined at all or very little.
Systematics and ecology of Kindingers houseleek (\kur{Sempervivum kindingeri} Adamović)
HORNÁT, Milan
There are many unanswered questions in the genus Sempervivum (Crassulaceae family). One of them is Sempervivum kindingeri from Macedonia. This species has not been revised yet since then he was found and described. In the last few years were published new floristic reports from the territory of Macedonia and Serbia and these reports indicate that discovered species belong to Sempervivum kindingeri. During 2012 and 2013 were some of the localities revised successfully and the live plants for research were collected there. Collected plants have been cultivated in comparative culture and afterwards they were used for morphometrical and karyological analysis. It was found that trichomes on the upper side of the leaf is the most important feature which allows to determine the species identity. Based on the obtained data it was found that plants descended from the high mountains of Macedonia and Serbia are probably a different taxon from S. kindingeri plants grown in culture.

The Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) noted a relatively fast progress during its eleven-year existence. Its main task is to deploy operations abroad. This bachelor thesis analyses their development emphasising the civilian operations. After the introductory general characteristic of CSDP the thesis deals with the tasks of the operations, military and civilian capabilities development and with the institutional framework including the changes brought about by the Lisbon Treaty. The practical aspects are examined by the case study of the police operations Proxima and EUPAT in Macedonia. Despite several shortcomings they can be evaluated as successful. The thesis argues that civilian operations are for the CSDP at least of the same importance as the military ones. Not only are they more numerous but also their ambitions are growing. The EU has become an important security actor, also owing to the civilian operations.
