Troubles on stage: theatrical representation of the conflict in Northern Ireland
Kristenová, Lenka ; Pilný, Ondřej (advisor) ; Wallace, Clare (referee)
The objective of this thesis was to provide a detailed analysis of three modern Irish plays which share one common feature - the portrayal of the conflict in Northern Ireland. Apart from the common background of the Troubles, the plays focus on different aspects of the conflict which also demands different theatrical design. Furthermore, each play was analysed from three social perspectives - religion, gender and locale - in order to examine the ways in which these notions were influenced by the conflict as well as on the ways in which this influence is manifested on individual people. Attached to each play are short conclusions to their respective analyses. Despite their difference, the analyses of the plays also revealed several interesting similarities. Firstly, in the issue of gender, there is a certain discrepancy between the officially proclaimed and recognised division of gender roles and the reality of everyday life. Whereas officially the women are in an inferior position to men, and are expected to be an element of passivity, the three plays suggest that it is rather the men who represent passivity. The plays also point out how the position of men and women in society is further determined by the sectarian conflict. In all three plays, women prove to have stronger characters than men: in Tea in a...

Vyhledávací stroj pro matematiku
Mišutka, Jozef ; Skopal, Tomáš (referee) ; Galamboš, Leo (advisor)
The WWW is dominated by search engines such as Google. They are inseparable part of everyday search for information. Theoretical research field interested in searching, the information retrieval, focuses mainly on the natural language constructs - words. During the last years the field has been extended to other searchable content as well. The world of mathematical knowledge on the WWW has grown enormously. The importance of a general mathematical search engine is clear. However, this research field had been abandoned until very recently. Despite the fact that an active ongoing research is in progress, few practical results have been presented. The main goal of this thesis is to fill this gap. A new mathematical search engine was proposed with the focus on applicability. As the only capable search engine of indexing WWW effectively is the full text search engine it was used as the basis. The mathematical extension was designed as an extension which allows it to exploit and use all the advantages of the full text search engine. Most of the mathematical documents do not contain semantic information. The solution to this problem was one of the main goals of this thesis. The extensive evaluation showed that the proposed search engine has many advantages. The most important one is the usability over a large...

Episodic memory for project IVE
Reidinger, Josef ; Poch, Tomáš (referee) ; Brom, Cyril (advisor)
Memory is an important part of each human and the progress of personality depends on its function. Everyday behavior also depends on it. So for artificial human it is also important for their authentic behavior. The aim of this work is to design, implement and test memory model for project IVE. The model has two separated parts. The first one is for perception of new objects and second is for already known objects. Model has an ability to move valid objects from the first part to second, remove invalid remebrance and remove overflowing objects. Removing of the overflowing objects uses calculating value of remembrance. This value depends on frequency sight, last sight, static value called interesting and count of same object's type in memory. Remembrance with lower value is removed. The final model is good in various enviroment and unsatisfactory when enviroment has a lot of same objects.

Management of Nursing Care for Newborn Using Classification Systems NANDA, NIC and NOC
MICHALOVÁ, Veronika
We have dealt in this thesis with problems of nursing care of the newborn from the perspective of standardized classification systems NANDA, NIC and NOC which offer many opportunities for streamlining, simplifying and improving of the quality of care. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on nursing care of physiological newborn during the first moments after the birth until leaving hospital. Furthermore, the common nursing language which is included in standardized classification systems NANDA, NIC and NOC.The empirical part of the thesis was prepared with the help of qualitative - quantitative strategy. We chose to collect valid data a research method of content analysis of documents, modelling, thought experiment and a structured interview. The first aim of the research was to identify the use file from various classification systems related to nursing care of physiological newborn. We selected 9 nursing diagnoses from the publication NANDA International Taxonomy II through content analysis, 9 nursing interventions from Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC), 5 expected results related to the care of physiological newborn from the publication Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC). We worked out a research form and submitted it in the way of a specific questionnaire to the validation of respondents ? who were experts in the field of nursing care of the newborn, it was made from the selected NANDA nursing diagnoses, NIC interventions and expected results of NOC. The second aim was to verify the usability of the selected files from the classification systems NANDA, NIC and NOC in clinical practice. The results of validation of NANDA nursing diagnoses were done by Diagnostic Content Validity Model ? DCV by Fehring. We determined the absolute and relative frequency of their designation within classification systems NIC and NOC. Nurses working at neonatal wards were our basic research populations; we created a targeted selection of two research samples divided by educational attainment. The first research sample consisted of 20 nurses with university education. The second research group was represented by 18 nurses with secondary education. The survey was realised in the time from January to March 2013 in the neonatal wards of the Hospital České Budějovice, a.s. Hospital Strakonice, a.s., Hospital Písek, a.s. Our third aim was to determine the attitudes of neonatal nurses to usage of classification systems in daily practice. We focused questions directed to the respondents on the knowledge and source of acquired knowledge, their attitude and possible reasons preventing the implementation of classification systems into clinical practice. The results showed nurses are reluctant to the usage and implementation of new standardized classification systems into clinical practice. The output of this thesis is the basic concept of nursing diagnosis according to NANDA-I, NIC and NOC focused on nursing care of physiological new-born in the area of the Czech Republic. 12 NANDA nursing diagnoses taxonomies was verified with 128 characteristics, 9 NIC nursing intervention taxonomies with 183 activities and 5 results of NOC nursing care with 72 areas of evaluation. There was selected in this survey 100 characteristics of NANDA taxonomy (62 %). It was chosen as being applicable in practice 130 from 9 selected files of NIC (71 %). It was selected 39 indicators (54 %) within 5 files of expected NOC results. The survey brought a lot of interesting information and also revealed even the lacks in the area of nursing care of physiological new-born; research also showed the lack in the area of nursing care of physiological newborn.

Anglicisms in Italian media with a focus on Anglicisms in Italian vocabulary of printed magazines
Machková, Veronika ; Špaček, Jiří (referee) ; Štichauer, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis of Anglicisms in Italian Media with a Focus on Anglicisms in Italian Vocabulary of Printed Magazines is centred around a key problem: the influence of English language on Italian. The goal of the degree work is to prove via an analysis of fourteen of the most popular Italian printed magazines, which are read by millions of Italians every week, that the influence of English on Italian language is quite negative. The expressions which are used in both spoken language and the printed one are not only technical terms; the majority of the words are common expressions used in everyday life which have Italian equivalents. In my opinion, it is mainly media that is the source of new English words floating into Italian and the journalists who support the people in using them. As I have tried to prove in the various tables which contain all the words used in all the magazines, the phenomenon concerns all kinds of media. Anglicisms are used in magazines designated to young people, who are among the most knowledgeable in English language, as well as in magazines for older people who don't speak English at all. Moreover, there is no difference in the kind of topics: anglicisms are used in articles about business, politics, and economy the same way as in articles about entertainment and show business...

Concept of School Geography in Hungary, Poland and Slovakia
Vrhel, Matěj ; Hanus, Martin (referee) ; Řezníčková, Dana (advisor)
- This work deals with changes of education systems' concepts (with a special emphasis on teaching geography) in post communist states of Central Europe. Monitored states are Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. We follow the changes of concepts within the period of the fall of iron curtain till today, the main trigger of changes are curricular reforms. The obligatory curricular documents of these states became a subject of content analysis. We describe how the documents had been created and how they were introduced into everyday life. Another aspect of this work is the analysis and comparison of school systems of the individual lands. The mentioned analyses represent a wider framework for fulfiling the main aim of this thesis. Thus for the analysis of the concept and character of geography as a subject of general education in the process of general education in monitored lands. The concept and character of school geography are analysed starting with the period of last decades of totalitarian regimes and going through post-totalitarian curricular reforms untill today. The content analysis follows the inclusion of school geography into learning areas of curricular documents, the main educational aims and the content design of thematic plans. A further, respectively quantitation aspect is the number of...

The use of phraseology in common communication
KAASOVÁ, Martina
In my bachelor thesis I focus on the use of phraseology in everyday communication. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and the second part is practical. The main task of the theoretical part is the explanation of basic terms, such as the phraseology and idiom. For better illustration, the theoretical part is supplemented by several examples. This part is also devoted to the characteristics of the communication of simply style and frequency of use of idioms in it. The second part is practically oriented and examines the use and knowledge of phraseological terms among people. The basis of this part is the questionnaire, which was submitted to the fifty respondents, twenty-five women and twenty-five men. People who were asked, were of various ages and achieved various levels of education. The questionnaires are designed to gauge how often people use idioms in everyday communication and if they understand their mening. In conclusion, I summarize the results of the survey and evaluate the data.

Comparison of selected methods of calculating baseflow in a small basin and evaluate influnence of baseflow to concentrations of phosphorus in total runoff.
ŠVARCOVÁ, Eliška
This thesis is focused on the methods of separation of baseflow and comparing of these metods. It is analyzing concentrations of total phosphorus in the total runoff and influence of baseflow to concentrations of phosphorus in total runoff. The studied area is subcatchment P52 in the catchment Kopaninský flow. Subcatchments P52 is small (64,93 hectares), drained agro-forestry catchment in Českomoravská vrchovina (Czech-Moravian highlands), with a large proportion of forest area (64% forest and 31% of arable land). Studied the period is hydrological period 2009 - 2011. To obtain the necessary results are used daily flow, daily concentrations, daily precipitation of rain gauge station Velký Rybník and monthly precipitation from rain gauge stations of the ČHMŮ (Czech Hydrometeorological Institute) in Humpolec. For the separation of the baseflow and comparison of methods were selected five methods: - method of digital filter according to Chapman (1999), - method UKIH designed by Institute of hydrology (1980), - method RDF proposed by LINE AND Hollick (1979), - method FUKIH proposed by AKOSY AT. AL. (2009) and - method of Kille (1970). All methods are simple to perform and not challenging to input data. When comparing methods, the main problem is that, the results obtained by different methods are very different. Another point of this work is to evaluate the concentrations of total phosphorus in the tatal runoff. Here is analyzed series of daily concentrations of total phosphorus and monthly and annual average concentrations. Low and high concentrations are compared with the values ??of precipitation and clinks are searched between these values. The main problem is that, the concentration of phosphorus are not dependent only on precipitation. The last point is solution of influnence of baseflow to the amount of total phosphorus in the runoff. Here is used the procedure which described BYSTŘICKÝ in its work (2012). There are determined values concentrations typical of baseflow, for direct runoff and total runoff. Groups of values ??are mutually tested and compared. The results show that, the baseflow is negligible contributor of phosphorus to the total runoff, but to achieve more accurate results would be needed to analyse a longer time period (eg 10 years) and compare the results with several different river basins.

Daily energy expenditure of pregnant women.
Malíková, Petra ; Hronek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Višňovský, Peter (referee)
1 Abstract Background: Energy expenditure in pregnancy of Czech women is a lowly explored part of energy metabolism. Objective: The purpose of this study was to estimate total energy expenditure and basal metabolic rate in pregnant women in the Czech Republic and to compare our values with values presented in foreign literature. Design: Energy expenditure was estimated in 248 women from the Czech Republic. The method was based on filling the questionnaires where women described all of their activities of a certain day. Women also gave details of an exact time of duration for each activity. For mathematical assessments there were used two computer programmes: a specially designed program Energetic expenditure 2 and a statistic program GraphPad Prism 4. As the values of basal metabolic rate were considerated values obtained by multiplication of pre-pregnancy basal metabolic rate calculated according to Schoefield equations and multiplication factors for certain trimester of pregnancy (1,04, 1,07 a 1,19 for the first, second and third trimester, respectively). The same multiplication factors were used for estimation of total energy expenditure. In the study there are described also other energy characteristics - activity energy expenditure (AEE), physical activity level (PAL). Results: In our study there were...

Rehabilitation of patients with schizophrenia: training of cognitive functions
Benešová, Miroslava ; Kulišťák, Petr (referee) ; Rodriguez Manchola, Mabel Virginia (advisor)
Rehabilitation of patients with schizophrenia is currently an important part of the therapeutic care of individuals with psychotic disease. Its effectiveness is often limited by the cognitive deficits which people with schizophrenia have to face with also in their everyday lives. In the presented paper we outline the basic theoretical outcomes and specifics of the psychosocial rehabilitation and training of cognitive functions applied to the patients with schizophrenia. In the empirical part we concentrate on possible effects of the training program of cognitive functions in non-govt. organization o. s. Green Doors. During the study, which took 35 months, we managed to get complete research data from 20 non-resident patients who attended a three-month intensive cognitive training and from their 14 persons closely related. The research data were collected by means of administrated neuropsychological test battery, three self evaluating questionnaires focused on cognitive deficits and its influence on ordinary life, designed for the patients, and two questionnaires for evaluation by close people. These measures were administrated always at the beginning and at the end of the three-month training program. Statistical analysis of the collected data (n=20, nSO=14) indicated a significant improvement at the...
