This final work consist in the analysis of Emma Bovary's personality, the main heroine of Gustave Flaubert's roman Madame Bovary. It describes her life changes depending on changing circonstainces of her entourage and on her interior living of these situations. It deals as well with the développement of her personality from a provincial girl over to a young woman and a wife who knows about love only from romantic literature, and finally presents her like a mother and multiple mistress. This work shows Emma Bovary from différents points of view, like a literature phenomenon. The purpose of it is not to understand, to judge or to defend her or her actions, this work just summarises not only her attitudes in different situations in her life, her dreams, troubles, but also little pleasures arising from them.

Product placement is a new phenomenon in marketing communication. It became an importatnt part of many marketing campaigns even of well known brands. There are only few theoretical sources and literature considering product placement. This work analyses product placement and its principles. It defines the product placement and differentiates many of its forms and ways how the brand can be embedded into an audiovisual scheme or other performance. It describes its historical evolution as well as contemporary conditions, examines how efficient it can be and judges different evaluating methods. This thesiz also compares two diverse approaches to regulation of product placement in USA and in Europe. The chapter devoted to ethics includes authors?rights and deception.. It predicts development of product placement in future on global market and the market in the Czech republic.

The Fetish of the Oldest Sound. Science, politics, and the fascination with the beginnings of sound recordings
Kratochvíl, Matěj
The invention of the phonograph in the late 19th century started an obsession with the recorded sound as a document of history. As such it became an important part of the human need to create stories from archival materials and to see them as parts of objective truth, a direct connection with the past. With the growing accessibility of historical audio documents, we need to look critically at these sources and at the possibility to take them as a trace leading to the beginning of a particular part of music history. The present paper shows in which ways we can see the phenomenon of sound recording truly as the beginning of something new and in which cases such an impression can be misleading. Unconsciously or with a political or other intent, recordings can present music in a very different, sometimes distorted form. With special focus on traditional music, the author attempts to formulate some general ideas that should be kept in mind when dealing with historical recordings so that we do not become too fascinated with the “past speaking directly to us”.

Live Cinema and its subgenre: Film-Theatrical Performance
Walterová, Zuzana ; DAŇHEL, Jan (advisor) ; Havlíček, Jiří (referee)
I explore the phenomenon of the genre Live Cinema in my bachelor thesis. But not only from the point of view of new media. I am trying to confront this genre with new possible usings of it – in the field of film-theatrical performance. I search for the right understanding throu the reasearch among its ancestors. First part of the thesis searches for the history of Live Cinema from the film point of view. Second part searches for the same, but from the theatre point of view. Last part is dedicated to my own personal experiences of creating Live Cinema in the film-theatrical way.

Algorithm for word morphisms fixed points
Matocha, Vojtěch ; Holub, Štěpán (advisor) ; Žemlička, Jan (referee)
In the present work we study the first polynomial algorithm, which tests if the given word is a fixed point of a nontrivial morphism. This work contains an improved worst-case complexity estimate O(m · n) where n denotes the word length and m denotes the size of the alphabet. In the second part of this work we study the union-find problem, which is the crucial part of the described algorithm, and the Ackermann function, which is closely linked to the union-find complexity. We summarize several common methods and their time complexity proofs. We also present a solution for a special case of the union-find problem which appears in the studied algorithm. The rest of the work focuses on a Java implementation, whose time tests correspond to improved upper bound, and a visualization useful for particular entries.

Local political partisanship in a local government environment (town Kutná Hora)
Kučerová, Alena ; Čopík, Jan (advisor) ; Monika, Monika (referee)
The thesis deals with the local political party line in the environment of regional government. The work is focused on the town of Kutna Hora (Central Bohemia). The first part, the literature search, is the theoretical definition of basic concepts that deal with the local political party line in four categories according to the size of the municipalities. The most important is a definition of medium-sized municipalities, which corresponds to the currently investigated Kutna Hora. Then there is a definition of the characteristics of communal system, voting behavior and formation of municipal coalitions. The literature search is followed by the practical part, where there is the acquired theoretical knowledge applied to the local government of Kutna Hora. The focal point is based on the identification of local political participants (local organizations of political parties and other political organizations, interest groups, etc.), their electoral successes, the internal decision-making mechanisms, relationships and activities. The essential finding is that it´s not possible to apply expressly the assertion of Katz and Maira that the number of members of local organizations of political parties is steadily decreasing in western democracies, to the local government of Kutna Hora. The number of members in particular political entities of Kutna Hora is relatively high. Mutual relations of political entities of Kutna Hora however are based on personal sympathies and aversions. The local political system can be assessed as fully competitive, based on the principle of government and opposition.

Prologue
Procházka, Jiří ; DAŇHEL, Jan (advisor) ; Brothánek, Adam (referee)
In film, the term “prologue” nowadays denotes almost everything that appears before the opening credits. The meaning of this word is not fixed. This thesis does not define the “prologue” phenomenon and does not wish to describe it in the historical context of art spheres. It deals with the opening scenes at the beginning of a film before the onset of the actual composition of the main story and addresses their functions in the entire dramaturgic structure of the work. To facilitate the apprehension and description of “prologue”, the thesis attempts to generalise the term and classify it into several groups according to defined criteria. It does not set itself the objective of forming a definition but of analysing the dramaturgic structure of a conventionally understood term “prologue” and initiating a discussion on all fronts of the film-making profession about this tool that can do more than just touching up the first few minutes of a film.
