Lie Detection Through Verbal and Nonverbal Behavior

This dissertation thesis called 'Lie Detection Through Verbal and Nonverbal Behavior' deals with lying and lies from the viewpoint of its types, functions and considering the development of an individual and it describes the role of lying in our lives. Lying itself is not considered as a negative term, but as a type of communication, a social phenomenon, which is a part of our everyday existence. Attention is aimed to verbal behaviour, but especially to nonverbal aspects of lying persons. Then it examines the use of information on lying and lies in the system of forensic psychology during the deception detection tests. It describes historical approaches to lie detection and its current appearance as well as some other aspects, that may be considered lying even if they are not lying at all - false memories or suggestions. The empirical part compares two research designs, one of them trying to find possible personal determinants of successful lie detectors on a group of psychology students and connecting lie detection ability with the concept of emotional inteligence. The second research analyzes the ability to detect deception among Czech police officers as a specific population group, that uses lie detection methods as a means of investigation. Central focus is directed at the phenomena undermining security stability at the sub-system level, i.e. the genesis of aggression and dynamics of conflict through the concept of perception as well as the dichotomy of collectivistic and individualistic cultures. The practical part performs an in-depth analysis of political radicalization while depicting the mechanisms of the pyramid model of radicalization. The overall theoretical framework is accompanied by a number of illustrative examples of both historical event and current international politics which are presented in relation to the specific actors within the system.
Terrorism from the social psychology perspective

This bachelor thesis deals with terrorism from the social psychology perspective. It defines terrorism, its goals and its classifications. This thesis describes personal and group variables, which influence the formation of terrorism. It elaborates on some psychological approaches to terrorism and terrorist personality in the context of motivation, vulnerability, trauma and abnormality. In the context of the terrorist personality, this thesis deals with moral disengagement and the psychological profile of a terrorist. It continues with a chapter about terrorist group structure and dynamics, for example social influences on its members. Another part of the thesis is an outline for a qualitative research project. Its aim is to explore variables, which repeatedly occur in the life of the terrorist and which may play a role in the decision making process before joining a terrorist group. Oppression: Theatre of the oppressed

The bachelor work writes about the Theater of the oppressed. Place this method to other paratheatrical systems, action research and techniques of social pedagogy. Trying to describe it, even with a summary of philosophical foundations. The aim of the research part is to map specific workshop of making theatre and experience of the participants. On them then describe processes that influenced an individual during the workshop in relation to oppression. Or reveal which elements are crucial in this work.
