Issue of mental health care in the Czech Republic with a focus on the personal experience of the users

In my diploma thesis I would like to introduce the readers to the issue of mental health care in the Czech Republic. I will focus on mental health definition, classification of mental illnesses, and also introduce services provided to people with mental illness. Furthermore, I will deal with the systém of mental health care in the Czech Republic, where I will try to point out the greatest positives and also some negatives of this system. The reader will also learn about Czech legislation related to this issue. Finally, I will inform about the psychiatric care reform, which started in 2013 in the Czech Republic - I will mention the main milestones, plan and strategy of this reform, and the benefits of this reform will be demonstrated on particular steps and realized projects. In the research section, I will focus on personal experience of care users, where thanks to the interviews, I can mediate the biggest mental health care problems from users point of view. Problematic areas of life of university students suffering from social phobia

This thesis deals with the problematic areas of life of university students suffering from social phobia. The thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical and a practical one. The theoretical part explains the concept of social phobia and describes its symptoms and possible causes. It also mentions character traits or emotions which social phobia needs to be distinguished from. It also deals with the period of early adulthood and the description of the university environment with the focus on potential factors in both areas, which can bring problems or stress to the individuals with social phobia. Due to the nature of the work, qualitative research was chosen and an in-depth semi-structured interview was selected for the data collection method, in which five respondents participated. Data analysis has shown that social phobia seriously affects a number of areas of life during university studies. Based on the respondents' testimonies, it was found out that the area of relations, especially partner relationships, is the most complicated. Furthermore, social phobia significantly complicates the field of education and the area of work. The Use of a Coordinated Rehabilitation in the Organisation of the Focus

The diploma thesis is dedicated to the way of using and way of functioning of the coordinated rehabilitation and the multi-disciplinary team in the organization Focus in Pelhřimov which works with the people with mental disorders. The thesis is divided in the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the history and function of the coordinated rehabilitation, mental health care history, psychiatric reform and multi-disciplinary cooperation functioning. There is used the strategy of quality analysis in the research part. It was done by the questionnaire and the technique of half-structured interview. The results coming out of the interview were focused on the functioning of multi-disciplinary team in the institution and the cooperating subjects in the first part. The second part was dedicated to the basic parts of the coordinated rehabilitation provided in the organization in view of the fact that there were other participating professionals and non-formal participants during the care of the person with mental disorder. The aim of the research was to map the sectors of the coordinated rehabilitation used by the individuals with mental disorders in the organization Focus in Pelhřimov. The research team was created with the help of the method of the snow ball and basic criteria was employment of an "communication partner" in the particular organization. Their ability to evaluate their job and take part in the lead interview depended on their experience in Focus. In connection with the thesis aim there was also set the main research question: What parts of the coordinated rehabilitation are used in the organization Focus in Pelhřimov? Partial questions were devolved from that which were connected to the particular parts of the coordinated rehabilitation and the function of the multi-disciplinary team. The first contact and the next cooperation is developed by the seriousness, necessity and wishes of the client. The work with the client with mental disorder is based on the philosophy of recuperation, not recovery. In the relationship and the concentration, the work is done in all sectors of the coordinated rehabilitation. The client has the closest relationship to the key worker who provides the care in the multi-disciplinary team and other professionals in the organization. There is the conclusion from the results that there was an agreement that the coordinated rehabilitation is used in this institution and no other from the basic sectors can be omitted. The results of the diploma thesis can be used as feedback for the organization Focus in the practice where it can be useful for mapping of the sectors of coordinated rehabilitation and making clear the needs of the individuals with mental disorder. Taking into consideration the recommendation to use the feedback of the respondents about information sharing, to prefer common space of the whole team and bigger promotion.
The demand for social work from the point of view of a social worker in the children's center of the South Bohemian Region

In the introduction of the diploma thesis there is discussed the question which every social worker knows: Could I have done something different? This is the question which is asked by almost everyone, especially a social worker. Further there is a brief outline of topics which are delineated in the diploma thesis. First chapter describes the institution Children´s Center JK Strakonice. Father there is a list of necessary knowledge which a social work should have for his or her occupation. Also the liabilities of the social worker to the clients are not left out. In this part there can be found also work with specific types of clients. For better understanding of the demands of social work in Children ´s Center JK Strakonice the thesis contains selected life stories of the women clients. These life stories should help to the reader to see the problems from different point of view and help to understand how much is important so that the clients decides himself or herself to solve his or her problems. In the second chapter there are described psychological and ethical dimensions of the profession, burnt out syndrome which is threat for everyone of us, especially for a social worker. In this chapter there are depicted causes of formation and manifestations of burnt out syndrome. The third chapter is also connected with the burnt out syndrome. The focus in this chapter is on prevention and protection. The attention is also paid to the personality of a social worker, his or her abilities to perceive the problem, but also experiences in moral decision-making and hierarchical position of values. The compliance of the principles of psycho hygiene and presence of supervision plays a very significant role. In the conclusion of the diploma thesis there is the summary of performance of a social worker in Children´s Center JK Strakonice. Every social worker should realise his or her responsibility not only to his or her clients, employer and colleagues but especially to himself or herself and his or her conscience. The interdependence of profession and conscience merges with the diploma thesis.

The Influence of Motional Activities on the Life of People with Physical Disabilities

The purpose of this Bachelor's thesis is to describe the inuence of physical activities on people with physical disabilities on their physical and mental health and their socialization. A physical disability is a limitation on a person's physical functioning and mobility. It can be divided into several groups (polio, deformation, malformation, amputation or combined disability). Physical activities of people with physical disabilities are generally benecial as they positively inuence peoples mental health and socialization and may also avoid the formation of new health problems. People with physical disabilities can either join the Paralympic federation and participate in competitive sport or join other associations and clubs to participate in a physical activities just for joy and health benets. A quantitative survey was conducted and displayed graphically. The respondents were physically active people with physical disabilities from the Czech Republic. The goal of the questionnaire was to describe the inuence of physical activity on physical and mental health and socialization of physically disabled people. The correlation between dierent physical activities and magnitude of benecial eects was also studied. As a result, physical activities had an overall positive eect on physical and mental health, there were minimum negative eects. No correlation between the physical activity and the magnitude of eects was observed. The results of this thesis can serve as an informational source of suitable and unsuitable physical activities and inuence of physical activities on physically disabled people.
Subjective experience of perinatal loss by midwives

This Bachelor thesis deal with the topic of subjective experiencing of the loss during the delivery from the sight of midwifes. The main goal is to identify the basic spectrum of emotions and feelings related to the problematics. There are established other partial goals and research questions, which cover factors that influence providing care, strategies to handle stressful situations, psychological hygiene of the midwifes, the importence of supervision and its implementation to the praxis, burn-out syndrome in helping professions and personal experiences with this fenomen. Furthermore, there are created suggestions for practice, which alert on absence of attetion to the medical staff and comprise options, how to work in area of this problematic. Interviews in qualitative research, providing us elementary idea about problematic of the reliving attached to care of a woman during perinatal loss. Results show us that even that this process is really mentally tough, midwifes don't look for professional help. They try to solve stress situations on they own reflexion or with help from their community. In the sphere of psychic hygiene, is effort for increasing toughness and maintain mental balanc with many types of freetime activities or any other relaxation techniques. Lifestyle diseases, their causes and prevention.

My bachelor thesis dealt with the issues of lifestyle diseases. The objective of this work was to use a questionnaire survey to find out whether and how the people are informed about these diseases. If they know causes related to them and how they try to prevent from them. I also was wondering whether the people on the basis of their age and their maximal attained educational are differently informed about these diseases. Aims of this work were completed fulfilled and the results showed that the respondents who were used in my questionnaire are sufficiently informed about these diseases and their prevention which they predominantly respect. As emerged from the work it would be appropriate to ensure that the society continues to be well - informed about these diseases. I personally would wish that people of all ages to regularly and consciously pay primarily attention to precautions of a healthy lifestyle which is the basis of prevention of lifestyle diseases.
Physical activity and its effect on the depression in the elderly

Title: Physical activity and its effect on the depression in the elderly Objectives: The main aim of this work was to estimate the influence of physical activities on depression in a population over the age of 50. Methods: The work has the character of a cross-sectional study. For data analysis, we used the freely available international database of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). To estimate the influence of physical activities on depression, generalized linear regression models for binominal variable were used. Results: The survey involved 58,676 respondents with an average age of 67.3 ± 9.6 years. Of those tested, 55.3 % were women and the rest were men. The strongest relationship between depression was found in activities requiring medium energy expenditure OR (95 % CI) = 0,755 (0,709-0,803). Conclusion: The analyses confirmed that physical activity significantly affects depression in people over 50. Keywords: physical exercise, slump, elderly, mental health.
