This bachelor thesis is divided into three standalone parts. First of them serves as an introduction to the topic of web usability. It also mentions web accessibility which may also affect usability, but is not a subject of this thesis. Next part offers an overview of issues web developers could run into when working on their projects. It tries to describe possible problems and proposes suitable solutions. Interesting sections are those related to text writing and web forms creating. It's necessary to work properly with on-line text and its formatting, because it is the most important part of web content. Also forms are important thanks the fact they are used to gather user's input. Due to that there is a necessity to have them easily fillable and error proof. The goal of the third part was to conduct usability testing of real server -- Nepropasni.cz. It's main use is searching for various cultural actions and performances. Two tests were run -- usability testing with real users and heuristic analysis. Results of user usability testing are discussed in final report, which is also attached to this thesis. Comprehensive Website Analysis
Štrupl, Václav ; Raška, Ondřej (advisor) ; Tichý, Jan (referee)
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe points of view from which you can analyze web pages and what methods you can use. In practice, the target group of this text would be rather managers than technical workers, because this work is not meant to be a compact "cookbook" after reading which you are able to analyze web sites by yourself. Instead, I'm trying to involve all the web site qualities and help with setting priorities in analytical activities which are fundamental when you are designing a new or running an existing web site. Writing my work I was coming first of all from my own experience having been gained by long self studies and work in consulting companies "H1.cz" and "Dobrý web". The analysis of web pages has been one of the most important services provided by both of these companies and it has been ordered by hundreds of both individual and enterprise clients until these days. The work is divided into major thematically designated parts, each focused on a specific quality of web pages (e.g. usability, accessibility, search engine optimization etc.) with its own particular analytical procedures and methods. I consider this way of division to be the most transparent, even though you can find other possible ways such as dividing all the analytical methods into groups according to the part of the life cycle in which the analyzed web site is situated. Some of the analytical procedures and methods are easier to understand from examples than from the text description and that is why I have used some well-known web sites of University of Economics' institutions as examples.

The first and the second part of the thesis focus on the characteristics of the traditional and electronic trade, the procedure of shopping in both and the support requirements in this procedure. These requirements are based on usability, accessibility and other aspects related to the shopping procedure. The third part explains the method of evaluating transactions in accordance with the criteria and an assessment and comparison of the selected store and e-shop carried out subsequently. In the conclusion the suggested recommendations based on the recorded results for each trade are indicated. These could lead to a better level of customer support in the implementation of the buying process in that particular store.
