The Students themselves - Student Center Poříčí
Matulová, Lucie ; Pospíšil, Zdeněk (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
Because of the difficult plot of the corner near the church of the Brothers of Charity and the neighborhood almost functionalist hotel Austerlitz I considered as a basis of my idea to emphasize the corner by the main entrance. There is a mass of the building divided into 3 parts - the first floor respects the street line, the second floor is a overhanging and representative (most acts for passing people), the next four floors are receding again. The living function of these floors is emphasized by overhanging balconies. The dominant part is just the corner - two glass blocks above themselves point at high areas that are located in this part of the building (a wall climbing over 3 floors, a gallery with vegetation over 2 floors). In the first floor there is located a restaurant and canteen facilities, in the second floor except the other canteen appears also sport function – a hall for aerobics, table tennis hall and the mentioned area of the gym with climbing wall. The upper four floors serve residential function - students are accomodated in cells with 2, 3 or 4 beds. Parking is solved as a two-storey underground parking with regard to the structural system that is created by concrete skeleton with the transverse frames.

Self-defence And Its Ethical Aspects
KOPEČNÝ, Roman
This work deals with self-defence as objectively possible, morally obligatory and legally permissible. It is based on sindefendology, the scientific discipline of self-defence, and Christian ethics. It explains the need of sindefendology base, and the necessity of rejecting all the if-concepts of ``self-defence`` (jujitsu, aikijitsu, karate, kenjitsu, or systems resulting from them). Ethical justification is assessed on the basis of the Summa Theological by St. Thomas Aquinas, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the defence options of the assaulted and possible danger as a result. It is essential as well as useful to distinguish between situations of self- -defence and self-protection, as only this division allows the defender to identify the nature of the combat situation, and the acceptable ethical reaction before having been placed into the serious time pressure.

Vlha, Radovan ; Šmejkalová, Martina (referee) ; Palkosková, Olga (advisor)
Verbal manifestation of ecclesiastical symbolism in The Life of Constantine At the beginning of this thesis we become acquainted with a numerical symbolism that is clarified from two different points of view; the ecclesiastical symbolism and the history that differentiates the real historical events from the moments meant solely for the reader accustomed to Byzantine literature of the ninth century. After the introduction we apply ourselves to a chronological analysis of the text. The historical facts elucidating the use of the clauses written by the author of The Live of Constantine are always thoroughly analysed. The main part of the text focuses on three disputations representing a logical complex culminating in the last disputation. This last disputation defends the use of the Slavic language in liturgy. A political situation on the Byzantine throne and both the Constantinople and the Roman papal throne is explained in the thesis. Moreover, the reason why Rostislav the prince of Great Moravia asked for priests from the Byzantine Empire and not from Rome, and why did Byzantium, at least partially, grant his request. We will then learn what theological dangers Constantine faced while creating the new writing system and translating the Bible into the Old Church Slavonic. The text also concentrates on the...

Lánová, Zuzana ; Emler, David (advisor) ; Perottino, Michel (referee)
The thesis " The Institutionalization of the Muslim faith in France on the Basis of the Laïcité principles" treats on the first place the impact of the acceptance of the law from the year 1905 concerning the separation of church and state on the contemporary attempts of French governments on creating the institution representing interests of the French Muslim community. Implications arising from the acceptance of the law supposed even the creation of representative organisation of concerned confessions. However Islam was never included to the system of recognised confessions, for all that its present position of the second largest confession in France supposes the creation of representative body, mainly on the basis of laïcité. The thesis follows the effort of single French government which lead to the establishment of French Council of Muslim faith in 2003. This representative organisation should lay the foundations of so-called French or Gallic Islam, nevertheless intern discrepancies caused by the diversity of participatory Muslim organisations, shows that the goal was not reached yet.
