Body - Physicality - Image between Art Education and Drama Education
Linhartová, Kateřina ; Šamšula, Pavel (advisor) ; Slavík, Jan (referee) ; Machková, Eva (referee)
Summary: We work on the assumption that art education as well as the whole educational system should deal with the current issue of "the turn towards body and physicality". Human body, unlike the new rapidly developing media, is the oldest medium that our forefathers used as a means of expression. This may be the cause of the erroneous assumption that we can use this tool without actually learning to use it as we do when working with other visual media. We are attempting to refute this common fallacy. On that account we examine the possibilities of inclusion of a joint concept of art and drama education into regular lessons at primary schools as well as other types of schools. Our aim also is to develop the dialogue between art education and drama education. This work seeks to phrase the reasons and search for the ways of development of physical skills and abilities in art education based on the drama education methodology, while searching for a new concept of work with imagery in drama education in order to achieve its objectives. The researched joint art and drama concept relates to the new concept of the subject of Art and Drama Education taught at the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague. Key words: body, physicality, body scheme, body image, image, semiotic body, body representation,...

Civil liability for the harm to health caused during medical treatment under Czech and German law (a comparison)
Resl, Matěj ; Švestka, Jiří (advisor) ; Salač, Josef (referee)
This diploma thesis compares the Czech legal regulation of civil liability for bodily harm caused during medical treatment to the German legislation on the matter. In this case, the German legal regulation can serve as a source of inspiration due to its stable development. Both legal regulations can be assessed with respect to the rules being preferable either for the harmer or the sufferer. Concerning the provisions within the German law that are preferable for the patient, they cover e.g. the origin of liability for bodily harm caused by all participating persons providing the medical treatment while doing a tortious act, including the direct liability of persons who are "used by the activity". Due to the broader concept of harm in the German civic law the patient has a right for damages based on a generally defined nonmaterial harm, where the conrete amount of damage is determined by the court. The German legal regulation is preferable and more equitable especially for young injured, in which case the assessment of damages for the salary lost is not based only on the average salary of the sufferer before the harm was caused, but it also reflects the lifetime salary, which the injured could have achieved, had the bodily harm not been caused. By contrast, some provisions in the German legislation...

Müllerová, Kristýna ; DIATTA-REBCOVÁ, Monika (advisor) ; OVSOVÁ, Libuše (referee)
This thesis summarizes the history of colonization of the United States of America, that was the main cause of its current diverse ethnic composition. It reveals political, social and cultural environment, in which afro-american dance style has been developed. These concepts were influenced by Katherine Dunham, who has discovered the principles and roots of afroamerican dancing patterns by combining her interests in anthropology, ethnology and dancing. She identified herself with these principles a based her own art work upon them. At the same time, she found new sources of inspiration by examination of human nature and human origins, which can be used in modern pedagogical practices.

Čapková, Radka ; Kvítková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Janovec, Ladislav (referee) ; Hoffmannová, Jana (referee)
Intertextuality in Advertising and its Use in Czech Language Lessons Advertising, as one of the forms of persuasive communication, often uses intertextual links to persuade, to manipulate and to seduce the recipient. The thesis analyses the intertextual links in advertising and their distribution according to the types of pretexts on the basis of theoretical research, and elaborates, how the different kinds of advertisements and commercials are perceived by secondary school students. In the first part of the thesis, relevant theories, which deal with intertextuality, are summed up, and the main terms are defined. In the area of intertextual research, we can find two main conceptions of intertextual links: broader, represented e. g. by Kristeva, Barthes, Bloom, Riffaterre, and narrower, manifested e. g. in theories of Bachtin, Genette, Głowińsky, Markiewicz or Homoláč. In our thesis we emanated from the narrower conception of Homoláč, who defines intertextuality as linking of one text to another text, which is incorporated into its meaning structure. We also defined terms architextuality and metatextuality and specified their relevance to our research. In the second part, having taken theoretical literature and language sources as a basis, types of intertextual links used in advertising are selected. The...
