The influence of geomagnetic activity on the course of stratospheric warming
Davídkovová, Hana ; Bochníček, Josef ; Hejda, Pavel ; Huth, Radan
The temperature of the winter polar lower stratosphere is affected except the solar activity and atmospheric circulation by the geomagnetic activity as well. Plausible physical mechanism for its effect was described by Arnold and Robinson. According to this paper, warming in the lower thermosphere caused by geomagnetic activity produces the reduction of blending mid and high latitude air masses. In consequence of this reduction the temperature of solar insulated region (polar lower stratosphere)decreases. The aim of this work is to verify functionality of such mechanism.

The active leisure activities for Romany children in the Prachatice region.
PETRŮ, Libuše
The Romany population is extremely disadvantaged nowadays. Romany children often pursue spontaneous activities and are vulnerable to pathological dependencies. It is a challenge for the majority community to prevent them from such activities and to offer Romany children quality leisure time activities. Spending leisure time effectively should be an obvious part of our children{\crq}s life. Leisure time projects have a favorable impact on the integration of Romany children. They are also means for social-pathological phenomena prevention in society. The aim of my thesis was to survey the attendance of Romany children at leisure time projects for children of majority community and their attendance at leisure time projects focused on Romany children. The research was conducted in the Prachatice area. I questioned providers of leisure time activities to find out about leisure time activities organized for Romany children and those organized for children of majority community. The results of my research show that Romany children attend regularly leisure time activities organized for children of majority community. Romany children also attend leisure time activities focused especially on their ethnic group. The comparison shows that activities offered for both groups of children are appropriate and welcome by all children. Romany representatives cooperate at program development focused on Romany children. But there is still a lot to improve in this cooperation. Greater activity of Romany parents will be welcomed. There is no Romany representative willing to get involved in organizing Romany children activities together with those who organize activities for children of majority community. The conclusions of my thesis may be used in a regional community planning. The organization providing services for Romany children may benefit from the results of my research. My research may be followed by another research, focused on Romany children who do not take part in any organized activities and whose parents do not cooperate with the organizers.

Evaluation of retirement care home in Tučapy
AUGUSTINOVÁ, Hana
Abstract Evaluation of the Home for Seniors in Tučapy by its clients (after the change of legislation) The system of social services for elderly people is a set of activities that can help mitigate their unfavourable life situations. The causes of these situations can be related to their age, health state or difficult social position. The Act on Social Services no. 108/2006 effective from 01/01/07 moves the Czech Republic onto a higher level in the sphere of social services. The novelties in connection with the Act on Social services influence the following aspects of social services: the conception of social services, the types of offered services, the enlargement of the segment of social services providers and the conditions and rules obligatory for the providers. The allowances with which the persons in need are provided have also been changed, considering mainly the system of allowances distribution. In the thesis I concentrated on the observation of the practical influence and impact of the mentioned changes on the operation and daily activities in theHome, on social and health services offered to the seniors. The Home for Seniors had already functioned before the mentioned judicial changes so I had an opportunity to compare the previous status with the new situation and I could monitor the impact of the Act for one year after the beginning of its legal force. During the period of observation I could prove that the quality of health and social services had considerably improved. I found a significant change in the employees approach to their clients, obviously connected with the fact that a contractual base has been established and each client signs a contract with the Home for Seniors management. In the following period I also noticed an improvement of cooperation among social and health institutions and the state. Recently, social demands have been processed more flexibly, and a social and health services information network has been established.

Šidlichovská, Zuzana ; Dombrovská, Michaela (advisor) ; Očko, Petr (referee)
The master thesis is focused on communication of central state administration and on a way of analysing it. In the first part initial insight into the problem is provided and essential specifics which are related with the field of public sector communication are described as well. Next the information audit as a useable tool for information management analysis is introduced. Susan Henczel's methodological approach of information audit process is described in more detail in order to apply this tool practically in the analytical part of the work. The second part of the master thesis is based on my own analysis of management of information activities and communication of two departments - the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and the similar one in Sweden. The key part of this work is based on the practical information audit, which consists of three-phase research. In the first phase the research method of Mystery mailing is used to learn how central state administrative offices cope with different laws concerning information activities. In the second phase the research method of content analysis (based on selected SEO tools) of official websites is used. The last phase of research is focused on analysis of management and organization of internal and external information activities and communication by...

Nováková, Petra ; Turčová, Ivana (advisor) ; Nováková, Lenka (referee)
Title: Outdoor activities in institutional care Aim of the thesis: The aim of this work is to chart oudoor activites in institutional care in Liberec region. As well as to determine the types of outdoor activites and the time spent by doing these activities in nature. Methodology of research: I used the questionnaire method for this reasearch. Respondents were given questionnaires with open and closed questions concerning the topic. The data were processed quantitatively and were set out into pie charts. Results: In the questionnaire, I found out that educators believe that outdoor activities are suitable for children from institutional care. They are not only a good tool for making new contacts, but especially as a tool for increasing children's responsibility and self-knowledge. Most of the outdoor activities are used in the form of games or walks in nature. Activities that are least accessible are climbing and swimming. Top children's activity is playing on the computer and walks with friends. Playing games and collecting wild fruits are the most enjoyable outdoor activities for children. Outdoor activities bring mainly joy, fun and new experience to children. They think that they will get to know better their friends and strengthen the confidence among them during outdoor activities. Investigation of Biologically Active Plant Secondary Metabolites by Antioxidant and Anti-Aggregative Tests
Řeháková, Zuzana ; Jahodář, Luděk (advisor) ; Semecký, Vladimír (referee) ; Grančai, Daniel (referee)
The effort to find compounds with significant antioxidant properties and with some other therapeutically useful biological activity (e.g. anti-platelet activity) from the wide group of sturcturally different naturally occuring compouds (or plant extracts) or their synthetic derivatives, was the purpose of this work. Radical Scavenging activity of tested compounds or plant extracts was measured by modified DPPH test use program SIA (sequential injection analysis). Singificant radical scavenging activity exhibited polyfenols, namely gallic acid (EC50= 0,0025 ± 0,002 mg/ml) and ethyl-gallate (EC50= 0,0038 ± 0,001 mg/ml). Also the pure latex of Croton lechleri exhibited significantly radical scavenging activity (EC50=0,0347 ± 0,018 mg/ml). From the group of tested methylcoumarins, the excelent antioxidant aktivity exhibited ortho-dihydroxy-4-methylcoumarins, espicially 7,8-dihydroxy-4- methylcoumarin and its derivatives (EC50= 24,9 ± 2,7 μM). Further was the antioxidant activity tested by FRAP methods modified to used micropalates P 400 μl. This spectrofothometric method based on ability of compounds to reduce Fe3+ to Fe2+, confirmed the antioxidant activity of ortho-dihydroxy-4-methylcoumarins. The antiplatelet activity of pure compounds and herbal extracts was assayed in vitro on the model of human...
