Since the third and possibly the last grant period for the Czech Republic in the framework of drawing the European Funds is underway, it is assumed that businesses successfully and efficiently draw funds with allocated resources for the Czech Republic. Agencies should also help to the effective implementation, however, their activities do not reflect the market and clients requirements properly. To confirm that, the Czech Republic was in previous years, one of the worst states in terms of efficiency of drawing on funds of the EU structural funds, which was caused by an improperly formed grant system by management authorities, as well as misconduct on the part of applicants and potential beneficiaries and agencies with their erroneous philosophies. Author task was to analyse the causes of drawing funds inefficiency with a detailed focus on Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation and Entreprise and Innovation for Competitiveness used mainly for businesses. Development of microfluidic device for droplet generation and microparticle encapsulation
Křivánková, Jana ; Foret, František
Microfluidic devices combined with various bioanalytical and optical sensors proved\ntheir potential in chemical, biological, and biomedicine applications. At a droplet\nmicrofluidic device a fluid is divided into numerous droplets surrounded by a\ncontinuous immiscible fluid phase. Generated droplets serve then as\nvessels/microcapsules for delivering drugs, nutrients as well as for encapsulating of\nbiologically active particles and cells.\nDescribed experimental study deals with the development of a practical dropletbased\nmicrofluidic chip useful for production of monodisperse water/oil emulsion and\nfor encapsulation of thin-metal magnetic microsheets.

The tax system reduces motivation to return to work among mothers with young children: recommendations and evaluation
Šatava, Jiří
In the Czech Republic, the overall taxation of work, i.e individuals' income tax together with social security and health insurance contributions, places a heavy burden even on the relatively low earnings of so-called second earners in households, i.e. partners with lower earnings. These peoples' work activity is, however, generally very sensitive to the level of taxation. A large group of these earners is made up of mothers with young children. Mothers who are the second earner in their household are subject to a participation tax rate (PTR) up to 30 % higher than their partners, and yet a higher PTR results in lower motivation to work. Women with children and low earning potential are subjected to the highest PTRs in comparison with their partners.

The role of p38-Mapk14/11 as an enabler of primitive endoderm (PrE) maturation and as a sensor of metabolism during mouse preimplantation embryo development
THAMODARAN, Vasanth
ANNOTATION This thesis describes the role of p38 mitogen activated kinases alpha/beta, also referred to as Mapk14/11 (p38-Mapk14/11), in regulating primitive endoderm (PrE) cell-fate and its sensitivity towards exogenously supplemented amino acids during mouse preimplantation embryo development. This study utilizing various pharmacological inhibitors, gene transcript over-expression and immunofluorescence assisted confocal microscopy imaging, has revealed a novel and pivotal role p38-Mapk14/11 in promoting germane maturation of the blastocyst stage inner cell mass (ICM)into the defined epiblast (EPI) and PrE and its potential requirement under amino acid deprived conditions.
