The bachelor thesis examines the impact of the regional trading group NAFTA on Mexico's economy. NAFTA united three North American countries - USA, Canada and Mexico, which was among the group members a country with totally different economic level. Therefore, from the very beginning it was expected that the agreement would have the strongest impact right on Mexico. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the impact of interconnection of two developed economies and developing country on Mexico's economy and the level of fulfillment of Mexico's great expectations. I will mainly analyze the international trade of Mexico with both member states and the development of selected macroeconomic indicators. Also the importance of NAFTA in resolving the Mexican financial and economic crisis won't be neglected. The question remains whether during twenty-one years of existence of the agreement prevail positive or negative effects.

Security policy and its influence on the internal political situation of West Germany in 1955-1958
Kaucká, Lenka ; Tumis, Stanislav (referee) ; Horčička, Václav (advisor)
After the ratification of the Paris Treaties on May 5, 1955 the Germany Treaty took full effect. It ended Germany's status as an occupied territory and gives it the rights of a sovereign state, with certain restrictions that remained in place until German reunification. West Germany was allowed to join NATO and to create the Western European Union. With this development, West Germany, under the leadership of Konrad Adenauer, in front of the backdrop of the Cold War became a fully trusted partner of the western allies and with the second draft of the Germany Treaty, West Germany largely regained its sovereignty. Adenauers achievements include the establishment of a stable democracy in defeated Germany, a lasting reconciliation with France, a general political reorientation towards the West, recovering limited but far-reaching sovereignty for West Germany by firmly integrating it with the emerging Euro-Atlantic community (NATO and the Organisation for European Economic Cooperation). However, contemporary critics accused Adenauer of cementing the division of Germany, sacrificing reunification and the recovery of territories lost to Poland and the Soviet Union for the sake of speedy integration into the West.

Černá, Monika ; Barša, Pavel (advisor) ; Ferklová, Blanka (referee)
Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is a very unique and closed country that remains hidden to the surrounding world in many various aspects. My thesis focuses on the status of the DPRK at the turn of the 2nd millennium on the background of historical and political development on the Korean peninsula. I present the role of DPRK in the international arena especially on the issue of the DPRK's nuclear program and the process of its solution with its key partners. The history of DPRK is an essential part of the process how to understand contemporary North Korea. Therefore I briefly introduce a historical and cultural impact on the development of Korean peninsula and a historical development of the Republic of Korea in relation to DPRK. The historical development of DPRK since its establishment in 1948 provides a crucial background for a current situation in DPRK. Except the role of DPRK in the international arena I point out a current situation within the country - in the economic, political and human rights areas because they certainly have a great impact on the DPRK's position in the international field (e.g. issue of refugees).

The potential threats associated with the massive release of liquidity to the market at a time of economic and financial crisis, the right strategy and the timing of exit and subsequent normalization of monetary policy are also discussed. Using correlation analysis relationships between the total volume of reserves and other financial indicators are identified. Most of the anticipated relationships has been confirmed, only their strength may not correspond with notion of central bankers when this instrument are implemented.
