WABNEGGEROVÁ, Zlata
This bachelor thesis deals with the prevention of cervical cancer at girls. Cervical cancer is a serious disease that affects women of every age. The cause of the high mortality is mainly little support of primary prevention measures and late detection of the first signs of cancer. Regular gynecological examinations are the most a Affordable protection against cancer disease for women. Just cervical cancer is one of the only gyneacological tumour, whose formation can be prevented by regular gyneacological examinations. Currently, there is no doubt about the etiological relation between cervical cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV hereafter). Now the Infection with human papillomavirus is seen as an etiological factor in a variety of malignant tumours of anogenital area, particularly of the cervix, but also the vagina and vulva, anus and penis and other skin and mucosal cancers at others sities. Recently, there has been the breaking point in this field. This is the advent of HPV vaccination. The new development in 2006 was the possibility of vaccination against certain types of HPV. The first registered quadrivalent vaccine against tumour disease has become the Silgard vaccine. The vaccine Silgard is designed to prevent from the infection with HPV types 6, 11, 16 and 18 It is designed for women and girls aged from 9 to 25. The bivalent vaccine against HPV types 16 and 18 Cervarix was bronght to market one year after the introduction of the quadrivalent vaccine. Cervarix is designed prevent for girls and women aged from 10 to 26. The vaccination is also suitable for older, sexually active women, because even in older age still did not meet these high-risk types, the vaccination also protects against repeated infection. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes the current state of cervical disease. The thesis also describes the risk factors, diseases of the cervix, further manifestations of HPV infection. In the theoretical part there are also screening, diagnosis and classification. In particular, the description of colposcopy, cytology, biopsy, HPV test and cytology LBC. In the chapter treatoment are ablative and destructive methods. Of course a midwife has an important role in the prevention of the disease. The importance and the role of nurses in the prevention of this disease are described in Chapter 2. Using the educational process and communication the nurse can affect awareness and responsible behaviour of women and thus promote the prevention of the disease. The practical part contains the objective, partial objectives, methodology and results of research. The aim of the thesis was to find out what is the girls´ knowledge concerning the prevention of cervical cancer. The sub-objectives examined what information about the prevention girls have, whether they know the principles of the prevention in gynaecological examinations, whether the price of the vaccine affects the choice of one of the method of the prevention and whether they are aware of risk factors for cervical cancer. The survey was effected by using the technique of quantitative investigation by means of a special questionnaire. The group of respondents consisted of girls aged from 15 to 18 in the Pilsen region. A total of 103 girls participated in the survey. 52 % of the girls study in a school with medical specialization, 45% of the girls without medical specialization, remaining 3 % of the girls work (total 100 %). 60 % of the girls know that one of the risk factors is promiscuity. 45 % of girls knows that this is a disease caused by HPV 47 % of the respondents know that the disease is transmitted by sexual intercouse and even 46 % of the girls carriers my be men. Of the 103 girls 46 % of girls are vaccinated against cervical cancer, 81 % of the girls know that the best time for vaccination is before sexual activity. Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Bc. Zuzana Čtveráčková Supervisor: Doc. PharmDr. Tomáš Šimůnek, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Deep vein thrombosis and role of selected mutations for the coagulation factors genes. This thesis is focused on mutations for the coagulation factors genes that can lead to deep vein thrombosis. In the first part, we describe the role of hereditary thrombophilia in the development of disease. Following is the description of each thrombophilic mutations and their meaning which is not always clear. The following mutations were detected: Factor V Leiden (G1691A), factor V R2 (H1299R), factor II prothrombin (G20210A), MTHFR (C677T, A1298C), factor XIII (V34L), PAI-1 (4G/5G) a EPCR (A4600G - haplotype A3, G4678C - haplotype A1). Most of them have been previously identified as risk factors for deep vein thrombosis, but specifically the factor XIII V34L polymorphism is considered to a protective factor. Other mutations with protective effect could be one of the genotypes of the PAI-1 and EPCR A1 haplotype. In the practical part, the samples and the results of 783 subjects were used. First part of them which was diagnosed by reverse hybridization commercial detection kit CVD Stripassay T (ViennaLab)...

Issues connected with nutrition of elderly.
NOVOTNÁ, Radka
This thesis addresses the issue of nutrition of the elderly. The aim of the thesis was to explore the differences in the diets of seniors living in households and those living in retirement homes. The thesis consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters. In the first part terms related to the issue of aging and assessment of the demographic situation of the Czech Republic are explained. The second part focuses on the signs of aging, specifically on the physiological, psychological and social changes. Furthermore, it takes a look at energy needs in old age, types of nutrients and consequences in case of insufficient or excess amounts of nutrients. The following chapter deals with fluid intake, which is an equally important part of the diet and is often overlooked, when respecting the rules of fluid intake is of great importance to the health of each of us. The theoretical part also mentions factors that affect seniors eating habits, nutrition recommendations, the effects of bad eating, which include malnutrition, obesity, sarcopenia and osteoporosis. The last chapter focuses on retirement homes. For the practical part of the thesis a qualitative research method was chosen. The following research questions were posed: 1. What are the differences in regularity of meals of seniors living at home and in retirement homes? 2. What is the consumption of fruits and vegetables among seniors living in households and retirement homes? 3. What is the consumption of foods rich in animal fats of seniors living in households and in retirement homes? 4. What are the differences in fluid intake of seniors living in households and retirement homes? Data collection was achieved through semi - structured interviews, which were attended by seniors from the household environment and those from retirement homes. The research group consisted of 16 respondents aged 65 - 92 years. Half of the respondents live in a household and a half in a retirement home. Respondents were selected on the basis of plain (intentional) purposeful selection. The research was conducted in the Pelhřimov district. A total of 16 interviews took place. The research shows that seniors living in retirement homes have a more regular eating routine than seniors living in households. In the majority of responses they indicated that they eat 5 times a day. Also, the time intervals between meals are more regular in retirement homes. Furthermore, the interviews showed that seniors from households are more likely to consume fruit than elderly people in retirement homes, while seniors from retirement homes eat more vegetables. The results also showed that consumption of foods rich in animal fats does not differ significantly in the two groups. Both groups of respondents prefer animal fats to vegetable fats. Seniors from retirement homes tend to eat meat, while seniors in households consume more smoked meats. The research showed that the elderly living in retirement homes have a more regular fluid intake than seniors at home. Fluid intake of the elderly in nursing homes is more evenly spread throughout the day, and the total volume of fluid consumption reaches the recommended daily intake. But that is not the case of half the respondents living in households who stated that the total intake of fluids is less than 1.5 litres per day. In the discussion my findings are compared with the results and opinions of other authors who have dealt with the same issue. Then follows the conclusion of the work, which summarizes the results of my research. These results were provided to the retirement homes, which participated in the research. An informative leaflet, which is part of this thesis, was also produced and should raise awareness of seniors in the area of nutrition.

Janečková, Barbora ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor) ; Břicháček, Václav (referee) ; Hájek, Karel (referee)
The doctoral dissertation contains of a definition of spiritual emergency, differential diagnosis, description of kinds of spiritual emergency. It looks on the therapeutical possibilities in working with these states. Part of the dissertation is analysis of semistructured interviews with clients and therapists who work with these kinds of problems. In the analysis of the interviews with therapists I center on their experience with the dynamics of spiritual emergence, its manifestation and possible existence of similar traits of clients with this diagnosis. Important parts of the interviews are the most effective ways of working with these clients. I was also interested in their own perception on how spiritual emergence occurs and on the possible change in the quality of life of the client after this episode. In the analysis of the interviews with the clients I question when spiritual emergence occurred, how it started, how long did it last and what were the reactions from outside. Important part is centered on the interventions which the client experienced and their efficiency. Case studies demonstrate typical traits described at spiritual emergency, as quite dramatic beginning, complete recovery and also an important change in value system.

Effect of pentoxifyllin on advanced dementia with predominated cardiovascular symptoms
Mészárosová, Jitka ; Ďoubal, Stanislav (advisor) ; Náhlovský, Jiří (referee) ; Mrňa, Boris (referee)
The high consumption of Pentoxifyllin in patients suffering from vascular dementia led to a concern and a clinical trial conducted in the nursing home in Česká Kamenice from 2001 to 2004. The retrospective survey was carried out on 176 patients and lasted 12 months. If we consider the currently valid criteria for the diagnosis of vascular dementia, the patients showed an advanced form of the disease. The experiment did not demonstrate any positive influence of treatment on either cardiovascular diseases or the mortality of afflicted patients. Despite the fact that we could expect the medicament to have a favourable influence on the symptoms of the advanced form of vascular dementia it was not proven so. It is absolutely essential for doctors to have good background knowledge of diseases and all kinds of particularities accompanying old age, especially when it comes to the early detection of dementia. High consumption of Pentoxifyllin led to a number of experiments and studies trying to prove its efficiency and hence justify prescripcions for the drug. An extended study carried out in 1996 demonstrated the favourable effects of Pentoxifyllin. Our experiment has also showed signs of improvement in pateints with weaker forms of dementia. Final decision on the suitability of the treatment with...
