Laser cooling of the trapped ions for frequency and time metrology

In the laser cooled trapped ions field current research is oriented to yield isolated ions in their basic state of the motion. The detection of the Doppler cooled iont excitation to its quadrupole transition of the electronic structure gives the opportuniny to stabilize highly coherent lasers of the optical frequency of the hundreds of THz. This way a new standart of the time or optical frequencies called „Optical atomic clock“ can be defined. Institute of the Scientific Instruments in Brno in the cooperation with the Department of the Optics of the Palacky University in Olomouc implemented a unique research infrastructure for laser cooling of 40Ca+ ions and subsequent experiments of the quantum mechanics and spectroscopy in a joint laboratory in Brno. Currently 40Ca+ ions are routinely generated and captured. The Doppler cooling of those ions is performed using dipole transition at a wavelength of the 397 nm. Also detection and spectroscopy of the electronic structure of the ion and the presence of his dark resonances is implemented.\n

Swarm Intelligence

The intention of the dissertation is the applied research of the collective ( group ) ( swarm ) intelligence . To demonstrate the applicability of the collective intelligence, the Particle Swarm Optimization ( PSO ) algorithm has been studied in which the problem of the collective intelligence is transferred to mathematical optimization in which the particle swarm searches for a global optimum within the defined problem space, and the searching is controlled according to the pre-defined objective function which represents the solved problem. A new search strategy has been designed and experimentally tested in which the particles continuously adjust their behaviour according to the characteristics of the problem space, and it has been experimentally discovered how the impact of the objective function representing a solved problem manifests itself in the behaviour of the particles. The results of the experiments with the proposed search strategy have been compared to the results of the experiments with the reference version of the PSO algorithm. Experiments have shown that the classical reference solution, where the only condition is a stable trajectory along which the particle moves in the problem space, and where the influence of a control objective function is ultimately eliminated, may fail, and that the dynamic stability of the trajectory of the particle itself is not an indicator of the searching ability nor the convergence of the algorithm to the true global solution of the solved problem. A search strategy solution has been proposed in which the PSO algorithm regulates its stability by continuous adjustment of the particles behaviour to the characteristics of the problem space. The proposed algorithm influenced the evolution of the searching of the problem space, so that the probability of the successful problem solution increased.

The digital transformation has had a tremendous impact on graduate research workflows and output. Most theses are submitted as ETDs, although the share varies by country and by subject. Universities worldwide are running institutional repositories to showcase new graduate research, as well as recently digitized material. The presentation will highlight studies on dissertation and theses usage on repositories as well as giving insights into ProQuest’s unique dissertations and theses analytics.

Profile of visitors of the Toulava touristic region

This bachelor thesis focuses on tourist area Toulava which arose three years ago. It mentions the history of Toulava which was created as a combination of beautiful nature and interesting tourist sites. It analyses what visitors always do here and popular tourist sites. The first part focuses on literature. The practical part of the work introduces two researches which were done during the summer season in 2013 and through the summer in 2015. The goal was to get a general visitor profile of Toulava. Tourist from this region filled in the questionnaires relating to this area, which were placed at various tourist spots. The work concludes that the visitors profile is still the same and tries to suggest a new product for gaining the interest of potential tourist.

Product Innovation of the selected tourism company

This bachelor thesis deals with innovations in a company which expands its business for activities of travel agency. The aim of this work is to analyze present product of the company and needs and wishes of potential customers. Moreover to recommend the product for the travel agency, eg. water theme tours. The theoretical part is dedicated to the characteristics of legal and other facts related with the issue of travel agency founding and informations about product and its innovations, sport and recreation tourism and water tourism as a part of it. The application part consists of the company description and the research. The method of directquestioning was used for this research. The questioning was realized face to face directly in the company. For the research was chosen people who at least once used its services. For comparison of acquired results Chi-squaretest was applied. In the conclusion of the thesis was compiled three water theme tours, each one of them for specific customer segment. Bachelor thesis shows the extension ofthe company in practice, especially establishing the travel agency. It explains the specific steps important for achieving successful results.

The retail space management

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to map the space management of a selected retail unit, which is Jednota, in Kamenice nad Lipou, and propose changes interpreted through the new model. The theoretic part is focused on a concept - space management. An important part of space management includes the areas of merchandising, purchasing behaviour, shopping atmosphere and a store layout. These concepts contain possible strategies by which the sellers display their goods, optimally organize floor space and improve retail environment in a shop. The practical part is concentrated on the customer satisfaction with the arrangements of selling space. A marketing research analyses and evaluates on the basis of a questionnaire the customer satisfaction. Finally, bachelor thesis includes a new model of the business unit with proposed alterations in the store.
