Reliability Evaluation of Visual Perception Test
Balíková, Tereza ; Felcmanová, Lenka (advisor) ; Mlčková, Marie (referee)
This thesis called Verification of a Reliability of The Visual Perception Test built on a pilot study of Felcmanová (2015), who using test-retest reliability, developed a test for visual perception. Due to previous research including a smaller sample size, the main aim of this thesis was to gather data of a larger sample and compare the new and previous results. Given this objective, the test-retest methodology was therefore adopted for this project as well. Besides this main goal, recommendations were formulated for adjusting the test and manual (more detailed instructions, practical demonstration and evaluation examples). Simultaneously this research diagnosed the level of visual perception of children forming the research sample. The theoretical backgrounds builds the backdrop of current knowledge in the field of visual perception and diagnostic, to which results were eventually related. It further describes specifics of diagnostic of children in pre-school age. The chosen sample for the verification of reliability consisted of 57 pre-school age children. During the data exploration eight children were selected, whose results were found to present extreme values. As a consequence this research has found that the co-efficient of conformity of measurement through the test-retest method reached a...
Options how to use a dynamic diagnosis to help pupils suffering mild mental retardation
Marečková, Eva ; Felcmanová, Lenka (advisor) ; Hradilová, Tereza (referee)
The thesis focuses on dynamic evaluation of younger pupils with mild mental retardation by application of a Visual Perception Test, which evaluates certain areas of sight perception. It is an alternative diagnostic method focused on rational intervention, which applies diagnostically obtained findings and results in search for adequate assistance and support of the particular pupil. In the theoretical section, the text focuses on pupils with mild mental retardation, their specific features and education. It introduces basic findings on dynamic diagnostics and dynamic approach and its application in support of pupils with reduced intellect. In the empirical section, the research seeks to verify whether the test, which evaluates selected aspects of sight perception, is a suitable tool for dynamic examination of children with mild mental disabilities and whether and in what form of intervention, the pupils who have been included in the research project experience different results in the pre-test and post-test. Based on the detected results, the Visual Perception Test appears to be a very effective tool in dynamic diagnostics for individuals with mild mental retardation. In the conclusion and the recommendations, the work presents the detected suitable forms of intervention for each particular pupil.
Development of speech and non-speech areas of a child with developmental dysphasia
Kovaříková, Barbora ; Kotvová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Klenková, Jiřina (referee)
The bachelor thesis is conducted as a case study of a boy with an expressive type of developmental dysphasia. This study deals with the possibilities of developing the individual speech and non-speech areas of a given boy. The theoretical part is focused on describing the development of children's speech, the theoretical definition of impaired communication ability and the theoretical anchorage of developmental dysphasia from the point of view of etiology, symptomatology and diagnostics. The theoretical part also deals with therapy and development of individual areas of a child with developmental dysphasia. The second part of the thesis is focused on the development of speech and non-speech areas from the practical side. It analyses the available medical reports and presents the results of the input and output guideline evaluations of individual areas of the boy. It also describes the course of development of individual areas of a given boy and presents the used material. The bachelor thesis therefore aims to analyse the speech and non-speech areas of a boy with developmental dysphasia and to describe the possibilities of their development. Key words: Case study, communication, development, developmental dysphasia, hearing perception, impaired communication ability, speech areas, visual perception.
How to develop thinking and communication skills of preschool children in the context of Philosophy for Children.
BRISUDOVÁ, Eva
The diploma thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with a definition of important concepts such as philosophy for children, historical development of this program, personality of a child, communication and thinking of pre-school children. The practical part is conceived as a controlled dialogue with children in preschool education, with a great emphasis on expressing their emotions and experiencing a given situation.
Educational Assessment of graphomotor skills and their development in preschool children
Bekečová, Pavlína ; Felcmanová, Lenka (advisor) ; Mlčková, Marie (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with problems of pedagogical diagnostics of the writing-motoric and visual-motoric functions and possibilities of their development in the practice of the kindergarten teacher. There are the starting points clarified in the theoretical part, which relate to the objectives, tasks, methods, forms and content of preschool education in the context of school maturity. The school readiness and its fields with a narrower focus on monitored sub- components of a school maturity and also the action and the influence of the kindergarten in this area is clarified and described. Also the professional competencies and duties of the preschool teacher are defined here. The concept of pedagogical diagnostics, the theoretical foundations of methods and instruments of pedagogical diagnostics are analyzed in details. A direct diagnostic activity in combination with the theoretical bases and approaches is stressed here. These theoretical findings are further applied in the practical with a focus on writing- motoric and visual-motoric function. The main research problem addressed in the practical part of this work are the options and ways to support children's development in the last year of kindergarten before the start of compulsory schooling and finding ways to contribute as much as possible...
Examination of the visual perception in children with visual impairment through an assessment procedure, called In-Sight
Janečková, Klára ; Šumníková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Květoňová, Lea (referee)
This thesis focuses on the problematics of examination of visual perception in children with visual impairment. There are three parts to this thesis. The first part is dedicated to visual perception. It starts by describing the physiological development of eyesight and the examinations of it in childhood. It is followed by a description of visual functions and functional vision assessment. It also deals with individual parts of visual perception and the support of their development. The second part describes the In-Sight test in detail, including the instructions to its use. The third part introduces the research: the diagnostics of visual perception in children with sight impairment through In-Sight test. Its core method is a foreign standardised In-Sight test. This test is used to evaluate visual operations in children with visual impairment and to perform a screening of theirs higher visual abilities in relation to the process of education. The aim of this thesis is to describe the usefulness of this test in this target group. The research also attempted to find new ways to use the test. An observation was made as to which areas the children found most difficult and which they found non-problematic, what actions can be taken to support them based on the results and whether it is feasible to...
Assessment of school readiness in the areas of visual and auditory perception
Barešová, Eva ; Felcmanová, Lenka (advisor) ; Mlčková, Marie (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of school maturity in the field of visual and auditory perception and its diagnostics in children in the last year of pre-school education. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of the development of the pre-school child and the conception of pre-primary education, the concepts of school maturity and readiness, risk factors of school failure, deferment of compulsory school attendance, partial functions and deficits of partial functions. Furthermore, the possibilities of diagnostics of phonological and visual perception and other methods of evaluation of the functions, which make the acquisition of school skills successful, are described. Also mentioned is the enrollment of a child into the first grade of elementary school. The objective of the empirical part is to find out whether it is possible to contribute to their maturation by regular stimulation of the partial functions in the field of visual and auditory perception in preschool children, thus improving the readiness of children to enter primary school. The research was carried out in two kindergartens through diagnostic and stimulating material. We predict learning disabilities (Sindelarová, 2016). Methods and tools of primarily quantitative character were used for the survey, incl....
