TITLE: Coping with sudden motility limitation and its implication - coping strategies among young people with spinal cord injury and with multiple sclerosis SUMMARY: This thesis is focused on process of adjustment of motility limitation, caused by spinal cord injury or by attack of multiple sclerosis, among young people. The motoric ability limitation affects their mobility as well as their social interaction, interests, plans and especially their independence. Thus, in age of gaining emancipation from nuclear family, they become dependant on their home-folks again. The theoretical part of the thesis acquaints with spinal cord injuries and multiple sclerosis from biological and psychosocial point of view, thereinafter it's engaged in coping generally and coping in relation to these two groups. Furthermore it's dealt with developmental periods characterization of adolescence and young adulthood, consequences of health turnover in self-concept in social context. The empirical part is based on semi-structured interviews with six young people (3 with spinal cord injury, 3 with multiple sclerosis). An experience of well-being, self-esteem, hardiness and a social support of adolescents and young adults with an idiopathic scoliosis

The rigorous thesis deals with an experience of well-being, self-esteem, hardiness and a social support of adolescents and young adults with an idiopathic scoliosis. The text is split into a theoretical and a practial part systematicaly. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with definition of terms: scoliosis, well-being, self-esteem, hardiness and a social support. We report also an overview of czech and foreign researches related to a perception of quality of life by specific groups of individuals suffered by a chronic diseases, adolescents and young adults. The empirical part of the thesis has four main parts. It brings data collected from a survey, deals with data analyzes and their interpretation. A reasearch sample of 77 people diagnosed as an adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is compared according to the degree of disability, undergoing spinal surgery, according to the age and compared to the healty population. Study conditions of persons with visual impairment at universities

89 Abstract This examined diploma thesis focuses on the sphere of tertiary education and its aim was especially to examine the study conditions of university students with visual impairment. The basis was to study professional literature and other sources to build a theoretical framework. It was essential to create an image of the student with visual impairment that the visual handicap and thereunder constraints were covered and it was also necessary to describe the young adulthood specifics. An important step was to characterize the environment wherein these student move. To do this I used legislative documents and provisions and tried to delineate any difficulties and implemented solutions. I also introduced research which previously examined this field and provided relevant information, too. This was the foundation for the practical part of this paper. It contained the survey wherein I addressed a few visually impaired students who conveyed their findings regarding their study conditions. I carried out semi-structural interviews with them and analyzed the obtained data with the help of the open coding method. The importance of marriage from the perspective of the current young generation

This diploma thesis deals with the importance of marriage from the perspective of the current young generation. The work focuses on aspects that affect the view of the institute of marriage. We also deal with the period of young adulthood, where we also deal with mental and physical development, which is related to this period. In our work, we also focus on unmarried cohabitation, which is a popular form of cohabitation today. It is clear from the research survey that the current young generation is still interested in the conclusion of the institute of marriage and the main reason that should lead to the conclusion of marriage for most respondents is love for a partner.
Motivation of young people to enter into marriage

In the last thirty years, significant changes in demographic behaviour took place in the Czech Republic. This thesis focuses on the current form of family behaviour, namely marriage, for young people who have married at a relatively younger age than is currently common. The nature of the marital relationship is viewed and critically reflected through the lens of individualization in the work of A. Giddens and U. Beck. In addition to marriage itself, the work deals with its position among other transitions of young adulthood, and thus the shape of the life course of young people. The research of this work was performed by a qualitative method and technique of semi-structured interviews. It is concluded that marriage has primarily a symbolic meaning, but its practical consequences are also important. The main meaning of marriage is the formal confirmation of the partners' commitment to each other. The marital commitment serves as a means of communication between the spouses themselves, as well as between them and their social environment. The specific age situation given by the relatively lower age of marriage is mainly reflected in the feeling of the existence of certain age and adulthood norms, which, however, are no longer binding, and if they do not match the value orientation or economic...
Attitude to motherhood of university students

This bachelor thesis entitled Attitude to Motherhood of University Students discusses the current phenomenon of motherhood from the perspective of a specific group of women. Although parenthood is still perceived to be one of the main life goals that developmental psychology is expected to achieve in young adulthood, available research studies as in today's society it is not usual to address maternity issues in relation to university students. The dilemmas associated with parenting and career planning are particularly noticeable in this group of women. Women often solve these issues by themselves so the society cannot recognize that maternity issues of university students are very current. The author of this qualitatively oriented study looks for answers to a wide range of sub-research questions. Through the deep analysis and interpretation of respondents' testimonies, the author of this thesis reveals the attitude to motherhood of university students, introducing personal factors that play an important role in making decision and planning parenting, as well as the psychosocial factors influence the university students in this crucial decision. Quarter life crisis

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of Quarter-life crisis. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with key topics focused on crisis, issues of Emerging Adulthood and developmental aspects of young adulthood. The empirical part includes a description of the research group, methodological specifics, research objectives and research questions. The research group consisted of 9 informants concerned with the issue. Qualitative research was used to provide research data, namely semi-structured and unstructured in-depth interviews. Using card unloading techniques, individual thematic categories and research results were presented and explained. All information obtained was compared with the information and knowledge provided by the experts and the information collected in the theoretical part of the research in the final phase. The aim of the thesis was to comprehensively map out the problems of crises and negative experiences of people at the age of 19-32 years. The partial objectives of the research were to find out the perceived causes of the emergence of these crises, the psychological problems accompanying the crisis and the strategies that effectively helped to overcome them. The research results point to a broad spectrum of simultaneous causes of the emergence of crises in this age group. These have both developmental and social and period specificities. Crises are accompanied by feelings of lack of meaning and problems of anxiety and depression. Contact with nature, physical activity, supportive social factors and self-realization have proved to be effective in overcoming the crises and problems associated with them.
Young Adults' Ideas about Romantic Relationships and Marriage

The thesis presents a study of young adults' ideas about romantic relationships and marriage. The theoretical part defines the issues of the young adulthood period of development, the romantic relationships and marriage. The empirical part of the thesis consists of the description of the research methodological design and its presentation together with the results interpretation, which are discussed in the context of the theoretical concepts presented in the theoretical part. The aim of the thesis is the analysis of the ideas of young adult individuals about romantic relationships and marriage. The study offers the analysis of the partners' choice criteria, the characteristics of a steady romantic relationship and of the preconditions of good and long-term romantic relationships. It was found out that young adults have an ambivalent attitude to the marriage and to the cohabitation, they realise advantages and disadvantages of both.
