The risk behavior of youth in high school

The thesis focuses on the issue of risky behavior. Part of the work is to find out the occurrence of risk behavior, and what is the possible elimination of this undesirable phenomenon. The survey will be carried out by a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. With the help of prevention methodologists at given secondary schools we will find out the preparedness of schools for this undesirable phenomenon and with the help of the questionnaire we will find out the occurrence of risk behavior.

The Only child in the kindergarten

The bachelor thesis called "Jedináček v mateřské škole" focuses on the behaviour of individuals in the kindergarten. It examines whether they are the only individuals who deal with a similar manifestation that is manifested by their ability to bet he only child in the role of a single participant. The thesis concerns both sibling constellations and the only one as such. In the thesis there is made a qualitatice research which focuses on 6 children in the kindergarten - five boys and one girl. Through the observation we can find out that the only children have bigger need of dominantion.

How Youth Perceive their Volunteer Work for Senior Citizens Organizations

This diploma thesis deals with youth volunteering in organizations for the elderly. The theoretical part defines volunteering as well as describes its main incentives and predictors. Further, it elaborates on youth volunteering in the context of public policy. The last issue discussed is the intergenerational aspect, intergenerational gap, ageism, intergenerational learning and intergenerational volunteering and programs. The methodological part analyses how is this activity perceived by your volunteers and how they end up being involved in volunteering while using qualitative research methods. Lastly, it investigates what this activity brings into their life and their relationship towards the elderly.

Attitudes to Society and School of Students in Secondary Vocational Schools

The thesis focuses on the issue of civic attitudes adopted by students of vocational schools. The author presents an overview of previous Czech research which shows that students of vocational schools are placed at the bottom of international surveys inquiring civic and political knowledge. Moreover, the results reveal that the students of vocational schools express their support for democracy as a way of government the least. The goal of the thesis is to describe civic and political opinions of concrete students and show who influences them and how. It is designed as a multiple case study. Six students of vocational schools from Prague, a smaller town and a village in Central Bohemian Region were chosen to participate in the study. The core of the work is the description of the individual cases in a detailed context including their family, community, school and friends. The findings indicate that the studied students are usually not interested in politics. Their political beliefs are heavily formed by their family and peers. School as an institution does not have any influence, not even through civic education which is compulsory during the first years of high school education. Psychosocial factors affecting the appearance of leisure time contemporary high school youth

The diploma thesis deals with the influence of psychosocial factors on the leisure time of contemporary high school youth. The theoretic part analyses basic theoretic concepts and terms concerning problems of the leisure time, youth and psychosocial factors influencing leisure time behaviour of high school youth. The empirical part presents the qualitative research conducted using the methodology of semi-structured interview. The aim of this research was to provide a deeper look into the problem and to outline possible connections. The main focus of the diploma thesis was to discover what psychosocial factors influence the leisure time of contemporary high school youth. Research interviews were conducted with high school students accommodated in the Dormitory of the Polytechnic Secondary School in České Budějovice.

The risk behaviors of high school students

The bachelor thesis deals with problem behaviour of young people. Ad they grow up, many teenagers have to face a behavioural disturbance, either as a person affected by such problem or as a witness of social pathologies. The causes and the development of problem behaviour might be different. The research project analysed the relation of problem behaviour of young people and the economic status of their family. It analysed the basic traits of problem behaviour of the respondents (such as experience of respondents with police investigation, the presence of feelings of social inclusion or exclusion, self-esteem and self-satisfaction and others). The research sample consisted of young people aged 13 to 18 (Lata and the Woodcraft League of the Czech Republic organizations), using a questionnaire as a research tool. The bachelor thesis is divided into the theory and the research. The theoretical part describes the issue of factors influencing the occurrence of risk behaviour in the youth. It also defines individual types of problem behaviour. The research revealed that the closest social environment, i.e. parents and educators and peers, is involved in the occurrence of problem behaviour of young people. It also shows that it is vitally important for the young people to learn to take full responsibility for their behaviour. They have to learn to decide about the way of their life with better future prospects and better awareness of possible problems

The influence of substance use on adolescent socialization - case study Třebíč

The bachelor's thesis "The influence of substance use on adolescent socialization - case study Třebíč" deals with under age smoking and alcohol consumption. It looks at the issue through the theoretical concept of socialization. The main emphasis is placed on factors of secondary socialization and therefore the aim of the research project is to focus on peer groups involving the interaction with their parents. The project conclusion is supposed to specify the most important factors influencing the adolescent's approach to the selective addictive substances. The theoretical framework of work is based on characteristics of the socialization process, its division and terminology with the characteristics of the period of adolescence as an important development period, which puts a specific emphasis on social interactions and the creation of social ties. The methodological background of the work consists of researches on this topic which have already been carried out. The work is structured as a case study and through the questionnaire survey (SAQ) on a sample of students from a grammar school, secondary technical school and secondary vocational school in Třebíč. ABSTRACT: In my bachelor thesis I present the issue of peer relations in the period of adolescence. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a probe into relationships among peers within the Dětský domov se školou Měcholupy. I tried to map the quality of the team and to find out the influence of sex and placement into school classrooms and family groups on relationships of children. For the mapping of peer relationships, I first used the sociometric questionnaire B- 3U, which I then added by another questionnaire. The results of both methods I mutually compared and created insight into the relationships of adolescents in DDŠ Měcholupy. Television as a factor of socialisation for early adolescents

This dissertation analyzes the trending habits of children as mass-media users. The goal of this dissertation is to show how children use massmedia, what does television mean to them and who are their favourite celebrities. The empirical segment is based on analysis of data taken from questionnaires created purposely for quantitative research. These questionnaires were given to students in the 6th grades of elementary schools and 1st grades of 8-year secondary grammar schools, both in Prague in the Czech Republic. At the beginning, there is a general theoretical part - an overview of mass-communication and its influence on the socialisation of children and a series of advantages and disadvantages of the impact of mass-communication on children and also characteristics of the age group of my respondents. The following text is divided in three parts that relate to three parts of the questionnaire. The first part analyzes how much children use media in their leisure time, what types of media are most popular amongst them. The second part focuses on television, what TV programmes are popular amongst children and why, if adolescents have something forbidden from their parents and what they think about watching television.
