STU Innovation Center, BA internal transformation

The assignment of the bachelor's thesis is the proposal of the Innovation Center for the Slovak Technical University (hereinafter referred to as STU) in Bratislava. The work is based on the architectural study of the subject AG033, which, however, was largely revised based on the expansion of information from the management of the STU faculties. The site of the proposed building is located in the inner block, which consists of four existing STU faculty buildings. The complex of these buildings stands right in the centre of the capital city, which means that not only the building of the innovation center itself, but also its surrounding public spaces, or inner block. According to the requirements of the assignment, the innovation center should serve not only the needs of the university but also as a platform for cooperation between the private, public and scientific sectors. It is also supposed to promote not only STU but also technology as such and attract a wide range of people. Therefore, the spatial content of the innovation center is very wide. There are laboratories, the office of the rector's office, rentable premises, lecture halls, libraries and a study room.

The possibilities of home care from the perspective of nurses and the general public

This bachelor thesis is focused on the awareness of nurses and the general public about the services of home health care agencies. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part includes the issue of home care and the characteristics of the role of nurses in home care. The results obtained in the research investigation are processed and evaluated in the practical part. Four objectives have been chosen for the bachelor thesis which focus on the awareness of nurses and the general public about the possibilities of home care. The research part was divided into four groups. First two groups were focused on nurses, where nurses from inpatient sectors were in the first group of respondents and nurses from outpatient sectors were in the second group. The other two groups were aimed at the general public, with the third group of respondents being the general public and the fourth group being clients currently treated by a home care agency. To meet the objectives, a semi-structured interview was chosen which included eighteen questions for nurses and twelve questions for patients. It is evident from the results focused on the group of nurses, that only nurses who are directly involved in the process, have detailed information about home care options. Furthermore, in the inpatient wards, nurses perceives lack of time and unresolved contractual relations with insurance companies as major barriers in the process of referring clients to home care agencies. From the results aimed at a group of the general public who have never personally encountered the service, awareness is very marginal. In contrast, clients treated by a home care agency have a greater awareness. Submitted thesis provides a better understanding of home care, identifies gaps in awareness among nurses and the general public, highlights the problems encountered during the collaboration between the home care agency and the referring facility.

Bachelor thesis is focused on application and evaluation of contribution of concept Partnership for local development. Application of results of concept Partnership is solved on the conrete instance of Steinhauser company and Tišnov city. The theoretical part is aimed at the explanation and folowing specification of important words which concerning local development and comunication technologies. The practical part of thesis is devoted to analysis of results of marketing research. The final part of thesis is focused on possible solutions which should improve local development and relations of company, public administration and community.

Yellowhammer dialects and citizen science

Bird dialects, the cultural phenomena that can be linked to migration, gene flow, speciation and cultural evolution, have been studied extensively. The yellowhammer Emberiza citrinella, a common European bird with a simple song and long singing season, has been a model species for studying dialects for decades. In this thesis, I collate several studies that benefited from citizen science approaches to push this field forward. First, we have compiled and unified information on yellowhammer dialect distribution scattered in numerous publications, and unified different dialect nomenclatures used in the past. We supplemented this with data available thanks to volunteers contributing to public databases and other online sources, and demonstrated that the continental distribution patterns of yellowhammer dialects do not support the existence of broad, geographically distinct macrodialect groups as previously believed. In 2011, as part of the Bird of the Year campaign of the Czech Society of Ornithology, we launched a year-long public awareness project "Dialects of Czech Yellowhammers". Awareness of palliative care, ways of providing palliative care and attitudes to palliative care from the point of view of general practitioners, hospital staff and the public in the Vysočina Region.

The diploma's thesis has been divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part outlines these terms, i.e. palliative care, palliative care education, awareness of palliative and attitudes to palliative care providing their definitions and a brief introduction to palliative care from historical and social perspective. The theoretical part also addresses the legislation related to palliative care. The research part focuses on surveying the attitudes and awareness of palliative care to these events held by general practitioners, hospital staff, the public. Based on qualitative survey, the thesis aims to find out about the general practitoners', hospital staffs' and publics attitudes to the notions of palliative care in Vysočina Region. The collected data was processed in qualitative analysis. Open-ended questions were processed by means of open coding and subsequently a thematic analysis was used. Eight thematic units were identified. Subsequently, the results were interpreted and compared with information found in the literature, offering a basic insight into the issue. Citizens participation in the town life on a case study in Mnichovice

The civic participation is an active approach of the citizen who has possibility of using more or less formalized tools to influence public affairs. This diploma thesis "Citizens participation in the town life on a case study in Mnichovice" will deal with civic participation in a small town close to Prague - Mnichovice. The level of participation will be analyzed by the OECD (information, consultation, active participation) town hall uses, what factors influence participation rates, what motivates people to engage in participation and what discourages vice versa and which particular forms of cooperation with citizens are effective for local public administration. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis deals with the historical development of civil participation in decision making processes, analyzes legislation of the Czech Republic to describe the theoretical participation and engagement in different types of participation in the various approaches and finally explores options of participation in a small town with 3200 residents, which is located in the suburbia of Prague, 30 km south-east from the center of the capitol city. Rural section of the Bohemia bewspapers up to 1850s

The bachelor thesis "Rural section of the Bohemia newspapers up to 1850s" analyses the thematic content and news frequency from the countryside and places that the German written newspapers Bohemia published during the introduced period. In the beginning the thesis describes the historical, cultural and political connection in the Czech countries, shows the bourgeoisie life and its customs and social changes. It introduces the media area of this period. It focuses closely on progress of the Bohemia newspapers, its content, interest and activity. It focuses on the rural section of Bohemia, which started to appear in a separate section from the year 1837. The quantitative analysis of the rural section describes the gradual frequency and the changes of the medial contents depending on the political and social situation.
