Study of the existing bridge structure
Pokorná, Katka ; Olšák, Martin (referee) ; Klusáček, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is the design of multiple variants of the existing slab bridge. The single-span bridge made of reinforced concrete provides a passage to the road that is 6,5 m wide. Natural bridge frequency dependence on first cracking and corrosion of the main bearing reinforcement process was assessed using RFEM software. Results confirmed that it is possible to assess corrosion of main bearing reinforcement rate by measuring natural bridge frequency.
Bypass Bučovice
Guráň, Pavel ; Apeltauer, Jiří (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis investigates the possible construction of the road I/50 in the city of Bučovice. It respects the environment and life in the city. In particular, the proposed bypass will conduct the transit traffic out of the city center. The reason for the bypass construction is to increase safety in the city, and to reduce other negative effects. These negative effects are traffic intensity, noise, emissions and vibration from heavy-duty vehicles. There are three variants of the route planning. One of them is based on the local plan, and runs through the southern part of the city. The remaining variants run entirely away from the city. The multi-criteria evaluation and the comparison of the solved options is available as well.

Structural analysis of the choosen variant. Section plan of steel structure is 12 m x 18 m. Choosen variant is created by beams, purlins and columns. Height of construction is 4,10 m.
The evolution of SARS-CoV-2 virus during the pandemic of COVID-19
Karban, Šimon ; Tachezy, Ruth (advisor) ; Pačes, Jan (referee)
Coronaviruses are animal and human viruses which, in the case of humans, cause respiratory diseases. The genome of coronaviruses is non-segmented and encodes several structural and several non-structural proteins. As their genome consists of single-stranded RNA in a positive sense, they encode RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. The origin of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is uncertain and may never be known. However, this thesis covers up-to-date knowledge and the arguments for the main theories on the emergence of this virus. The pandemic of disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 had an enormous impact on the health and lives of people worldwide. The length and severity of the pandemic were caused by the characteristic of the virus, transmissibility and asymptomatic type of infection with severe symptoms in elderly and chronically ill individuals and the fast evolution of the virus after its appearance in humans. This thesis will describe important characteristics of the most important variants of the virus and changes which gave them a selection advantage. In the end, trends in the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 will be discussed. Keywords: SARS-CoV-2, Coronaviridae, variants, phylogeny, origin, evolution
Study of Tram Track Extension to the City District Brno-Bosonohy
Hozáková, Bettina ; Kuchár, Martin (referee) ; Valehrach, Jan (advisor)
This study elaborates four options of the extension of the tram track Brno-Bosonohy, which are subsequently compared according to the impact on the urban structure and the possibility of its adaptation to the street area. The thesis examines the Brno City Zoning Plan and the Bosonohy Zoning Study, its documents are used as a basis of the concept, further defines the terms of the principles of tram track design, and describes the strengths and weaknesses of the elaborated options. The study also covers the design of tram stops and a loop, as well as a potential roundabout with a tram track running through it.
Design of erosion control and flood protection measures in the plan of joint facilities in the cadastral area of Tučapy near Vyškov
Pavliš, Jaroslav ; Larišová, Lucie (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis was to develop an analytical proposal for erosion control and flood protection measures in the plan of common facilities in the Tučapy district near Vyškov. Erosion protection was analyzed for EEA areas based on 4 variants including the current state without or with measures and climate change without or with measures. Agrotechnical and organizational measures, which includes contour cultivation with crop residues, or only crop residues, was considered as an soil erosion control application. The design and dimensions of stabilized paths of concentrated runoff also fell under the 4 variants of soil erosion protection measures. During the analysis, 4 critical profiles were identified, for which critical runoff were calculated for different Qn. This analysis of critical profiles also fell under the already mentioned 4 variants. This work was also supplemented by a direct design of flood protection with technical and organizational aspects, which were drainage ditches and strip crop rotation. The design of the jamming joints was based on 2 variants including the existing condition without conservation or with a coservation measures. The ArcGIS program was used to calculate erosion results and present analytical maps. The DesQ program was used to obtain the necessary volumes, flow rates and their graphs. Dimensioning of stabilized valleys and drainage basins was carried out using the Dimenzov program. The results of this work are intended to show the effectiveness and positive effects of anti-erosion and anti-flood measures.
Multiple-criteria Decision Making and Data Envelopment Analysis
BRABCOVÁ, Michaela
This thesis explores methods of multiple-criteria decision making in connection with data envelopment analysis. A model task is to compare all the countries of the European Union according to the growth of their small and medium-sized enterprises. The differences and similarities of the chosen approaches are shown on the selected data. The results include the ranking of countries based on efficiency according to the CCR model and a comparison of the results from data envelopment analysis and the described multi-criteria methods using Spearman coefficients. As the results of the multi-criteria evaluation of alternatives depend strongly on the weights, their stability for the weighted sum approach and PROMETHEE was therefore examined.
Methods of Multiple-Criteria Decision Making
BRABCOVÁ, Michaela
This thesis explores methods of multiple-criteria decision making and their application on data gathered from yearbooks published by Czech Statistical Office and from my own survey based on a questionnaire. The main aim is to describe different methods of multiple-criteria decision analysis, demonstrate their applications, and illustrate the benefits and drawbacks on a specific case. The task is to compare quality of life in all districts of South Bohemia and compile their ranking. The alternatives examined are the counties of České Budějovice, Český Krumlov, Jindřichův Hradec, Písek, Prachatice, Strakonice, and Tábor. The selected decision criteria used in this evaluation consist of the price of apartments, rate of unemployment, quality of health care, average wage, criminality and rate of environmental pollution. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis depicts diverse methods of decision-making and their basic advantages and disadvantages. Examples of these techniques are methods based on aspiration levels, such as PRIAM, methods based on ordinal scales, ORESTE, and finally methods based on cardinal scale, such as Weighted Sum Approach, Analytic Hierarchy Process, TOPSIS, AGREPREF, ELECTRE, PROMETHEE and MAPPAC. The practical part describes the actual application of the methods on the selected case and final results of this work. The outcome includes rates of importance for each criterion and county rankings from best to worst based on the methods mentioned above.
