Design of settlement structure of contemporary city in historical context.
Macholánová, Petra ; Obrtlík,, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with an urban study on the territory of Červený kopec, specifically in the part of the territory of Stráň. It is a locality stated as a brownfield Kohnova cihelna. The proposal aims to make the most of the potential of this site, which lies in its proximity to the city center, the neighborhood of the national natural monument, a significant area of greenery and the views that this place provides due to its topographic situation. A new city district is proposed on the area of 18 hectares, which would cover one of the "brownfield holes" on the map of the city of Brno and at the same time help against the outflow of population to the outskirts of the city and against the creation of urban satellites. Numerous public opinion polls show that they would like to live close to the city, but at the same time especially young families long for their own house in a quiet countryside location. Therefore, a compact development of terraced houses, terrace villas and blocks of flats with private courtyards is proposed here, complemented by quality public space and civic amenities. This new city district would offer housing for about 3,500 new residents.

Dušková, Barbora ; Nový, Vítězslav (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis was to design a residential complex in the area between the existing gardens and two streets - Houškova and Pastviny, in the city of Brno - Komin. Given the disparities parcel proposal, I divided it into three parts. In the lower part, which has only little elevation, I designed four apartment buildings with just 3 floors. Those buildings are creating a public space between them selves. In the second, the middle section there are two types of townhouses and the third part is due to its steep slope designed for two terraced houses. Thanks to the diversity of housing you will find people of all ages and different social stratacoming to live here. Due to the excess height of apartment buildings and houses seem almost similar and there is no high-rise dominant. Houses naturally follow the sloping terrain.

Plodíková, Kateřina ; Soudek, Pavel (referee) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The topic of this diploma thesis is the planning and realisation of a project documentation for a new building of a family viticulture (to be built between existing terraced houses). The building consists of several types of spaces according to the functional use. It connects the living function (an apartment on the second floor and a small guesthouse for degustation purposes), rooms for the store and services (the wine shop, degustation) and the room for stocking (wine storage - barrels/baskets). The building has three floors, the basement is entirely embedded into the terrain. The building will be located approximately 500 metres SW from the city centre of Lednice (584631), within the district of Břeclav in the South-Moravian region, on the lots 756/1, 756/2 and 755.

Zrníková, Kamila ; Myslín, Jiří (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
Based on the architectural study of AG33 studio, this bachelor’s thesis on theme of family winery Sekt Jan Petrák was created. The bachelor thesis develops the architectural study up to the Building permit documentation and Documentation for execution of the project. The plot is situated in the centre of Kobylí, in the South Moravia Region. There is currently located a terraced house and an production building which does not suit current demands of the owners for housing nor for production of wine and sparkling wine. The requirement was to create a new house and production building with preservation and utilization of the existing production building, as well as appropriately placed product shop and tasting space. The mass solution of my design is based on the original terraced houses with gutters to street of South Moravia. The house continues to existing buildings in size and shape of the roof. By contrast, the public part of production building is turned gable wall to the street, and combination with courtyard entry closes the line on terraced houses and continues in looser buildings. In addition to the modification of the traditional housing type, the new entrance elements are morphology of windows and hidden gutters. The gable wall of the public part is glass fronted and creates dominant, easily identifiable element in the street view. Materials are chosen simple and clean, with reference to the production function of the building. White plaster, exposed brick, black tile roofing and zinc coated façade elements and flashing are predominant.

It searches for the original roots, the principles of formation and the characteristic types. The purpose was to find an answer to the question of where its values lie, because the state-controlled standardization negatively influenced the appearance of an average terraced house. The quest of seeking positive approaches the pre-war development of terraced housing and examines parallels between the groups of the 70s and the present. The subject is embedded in the wider framework of the state housing policy and its impact on the character of the new development. The thesis focuses on the period of the 70s, when family development culminat-ed. The main part analyzes three selected groups of terraced houses from the seventies. Between the walls and the river
Holubová, Ivana ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The aim of this project was to design residential architecture that combines the urban character of the historic center of Vyškov with the natural character of the Haná River. The dominant feature of the de-signed area is a wavy row of family houses (each with 1 to 3 units), divided into two parts by a small squ-are, which is oriented towards areas for services and also includes an existing public transport stop. From this open space, a newly designed bridge extends over the river. A promenade meanders betwe-en the river and the proposed residential area, incorporating the river into the concept and creating a point of interest not only for the city's residents. Each house has a small garden area facing the river. The apartments are complemented by spacious terraces with views of the river. The design includes a three-story parkhouse to divert cars from view and free up surface space. The first floor of the parkhou-se is reserved for an existing restaurant. All the proposed houses respond to the native shapes of the surrounding buildings (2 to 4 floors, pitched roof, terraced houses), but with a modern twist. The main architectural feature is the recessed facades facing the river, covered with wood to emphasize the na-tural character of the location, while the rest of the facades are designed with classic plaster, corre-sponding to the urban expression of the surrounding buildings.
