Classical concepts of stratification and their comparison with the situation in contemporary society. Subjective and objective position in the social structure

The central theme of the thesis is the current conceptualization of social classes and the issue of stratification in the Czech Republic in the period after 1989. In the first part I confront key theses of classical stratification concepts and follow their transformations in the history of exploration of the social structure. In the second part, by secondary analysis of quantitative data, I am trying to find the key factors of self- classification into social structures and to determine how this subjective self- classification correlates with objective (sociological) classification. An important part of the research is also the question of to what extent and in what sense people perceive the contemporary Czech society as a social-stratified. In the conclusion, on the basis of the results of analysis, I am trying to suggest which of the classical concepts of stratification best reflects the situation in contemporary Czech society. Hierarchy of the Vietnamese community in the area of Prague

- english This bachelor's thesis focuses on the current situation regarding hierarchy in the Vietnamese minority in Prague, its reasons and consequences. The first part of the thesis briefly describes the Vietnamese society after World War II and the main reasons for the Vietnamese immigration to Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic. The second and third parts focus on the history of the Vietnamese coming to the Czech Republic and the social stratification of the Vietnamese minority. The fourth part of the thesis focuses on the hierarchy of the Vietnamese minority in the area of Prague.

Sport and Czech Society: Sources of Differences in Sports Participation

The thesis examines changes in sports participation in Czech society in last decades. Sports activities are conceptualized as a practice, routinized habit that is shared in a society's culture (Reckwitz 2002; Warde 2005). Bourdieu's (1984) also shows how different social positions generate different taste and preferences, which are simultaneously classified and base for symbolic borders between social classes. The empirical analysis focuses on sports participation during the last three decades and deeper understanding of differentiation and meanings of today's sports activity. The results clearly show profound increase in sports participation, from 25 % in 1984 to 67 % in 2009. The cohort analysis confirms that dynamics of sports practices' spread have roots in the socialization process and cohort exchange, because younger cohorts have a stable higher level of sports participation irrespective of their aging. Lasting impact of cultural capital on sports participation is particularly striking, especially in the light of the major change in society's regime in the 1989 and after. Physiochemical Parameters of Ponds during Hydrological Year The aim of this Bachelor thesis was to use the obtained data for the assessment of these physiochemical parameters on growth of the carp. The obtained data and their influence on carp grow were compared with literature. The physiochemical parameters had measured on the 29th June, 16th July, 12th August and 4th October on the Dehtář pond. The followed physiochemical parameters were measured: concentration of oxygen (mg-l-1), temperature of water (°C), pH, transparency (m) and chlorophyll concentration (?g-l-1). It was used calibrated measuring device EXO2 and a Secchi disc. The pond was measured in two transects with focus on depth, inflow, outflow and feeding area. For better evaluation of the results it had included the continuous measurements data from Vltava River Authority, particularly the concentration of oxygen, temperature and light regime. The Dehtář pond is used mainly for intense fish-pond management. Fishery Hluboká manages on this pond. Stock of the pond is polyculture. Dominant fish is common carp, next for example grass carp, pike, pikeperch and catfish. The pond is regular fed, limed and fertilized. From those data, it has produced the spatial and temporal visualisation of basic physiochemical parameters in the pond. From the spatial visualisation follows that the quality of inflow water, depth of water, meteorological situation and position of feeding area had a significant influence on physiochemical parameters. From the temporal visualisation follows that the highest differences in our data were during temperature stratification on 29th June 2016. This day range of the pH was from 7.1 to 9.1. During the other days pH was just about 8. On 29th of June 2016 the range of the temperature was quite high. The temperature was from 19.8 °C to 24.8 °C. Oxygen deficits were very often on this pond. Oxygen deficits had big influence on the death of fishes. The concentration of oxygen went down under the limit values (0.5 mg-l-1) for 2 times during the Vltava River Authority measuring. The local places of low concentration of oxygen had located on the depth of 1.5 m for 25 times during the Vltava River Authority measuring. The Vltava River Authority regularly takes measurements on the Dehtář pond. It should be used for better management and for preventing the critical situation, particularly the drop of oxygen, which could harm the fish. It should be limited feeding, because of the often oxygen deficits.

Process of values origin: intergenerational transmission within family

Diplomová práce Proces vzniku hodnot: Mezigenerační přenos v rodině se zabývá procesem přenosu hodnotových orientací na individuální úrovni. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda a za jakých podmínek dochází k přenosu hodnot mezi generacemi v kontextu socio-profesní třídy. Práce se opírá o Kohnovu hypotézu, která tvrdí, že hodnoty jsou také kromě samotného procesu socializace formovány pracovní pozicí jednotlivců. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část pojednává o hodnotách, samotné socializaci jedince a shrnuje také poznatky Kohnovy práce, která se zabývá zejména diferenciací hodnot na základě profesních tříd. Analytická část se opírá o data z výzkumu "Distinkce a hodnoty 2008". Pozornost je zaměřena na zkoumání výchovných hodnot (které vlastnosti by měli být v dětech doma podporovány). Analytická část se také dělí na dva základní okruhy. První je věnován analýze hodnot potomků i rodičů skrze jednotlivé profesní třídy. Druhý okruh se věnuje přenosu jednotlivých hodnotových typů mezi generacemi. And the calculation of heat losses to the design of boiler and its connection to the system.

Air-conditioning of Sports Hall

The bachelor thesis deals with air-conditioning of sports hall. The aim was to design a two to three air-conditioning devices for the sports hall. Introductory theoretical part is devoted to the history of air conditioning, an explanation of the concept of stratification, the description of terminal elements and description of the selected objects, in which the distribution of air is greater than 4 meters. The theoretical part is followed by part of the calculation and design.

Echinocystis lobata is an European invasive species introduced from North America. Distribution of Echinocystis lobata was studied in the Pilsen region alongside main rivers, including Berounka, Úhlava, Úslava, Mže and Radbuza. The maps of distribution were created from information acquired from literature and field exploration. The germination experiments were conducted in climabox and garden experiments.

The Social Stratification of a Municipality

This bachelors work is dedicated to the stratificaction of social classes in the town of Sedlcany according to a given model of stratification.The bachelors work is divided into two parts.The first charter is the theoretical part, in which the terms of reference are defined, such as the basic concepts of social stratification, the stratification criteria and the sociology of the city.The second chapter contains the practical part. It includes primary research which involves the use of a questionnaire to put the people of Sedlčany into different social layers.
