Gender stereotypes women face in business in the Czech Republic
Rollová, Elisabeth ; Teichman, Klaudia (advisor) ; Grygar, Jakub (referee)
This thesis deals with gender stereotypes that women face in business in the Czech Republic. Although it may seem that men and women are equal in society, women still face gender biases that place them in the roles of mothers. Entrepreneurship is then perceived as a male domain. These gender roles and other stereotypes make it difficult for women to integrate into the labor market. Because of this binary perception of roles in society, women often do not even consider entrepreneurship as a career choice for fear of not having a chance to succeed. The main objectives of this thesis are to find out what stereotypes women encounter in entrepreneurship and how they cope with them. The thesis analyses qualitative data obtained through semi-structured interviews with six Czech female entrepreneurs.

Gender-sensitive analysis of the novel Praskliny
Halíř, Pavel ; Jiroutová Kynčlová, Tereza (advisor) ; Knotková - Čapková, Blanka (referee)
The thesis entitled Gender Sensitive Analysis of the novel Praskliny looks into the representation of symbolic and discursive violence in a selected literary text by a Czech author from the perspective of gender analysis. Klára Vlasáková's novel Praskliny (Cracks) is set in a fantasy world with despotic elements, where individual heroes and heroines deal with the fundamental contradiction caused by internalized social norms with the way the protagonists themselves experience them. The analysis of the work is carried out in the context of feminist literary theories, whose main methodological and theoretical themes are the concept of a woman as nature by Sherry B. Ortner, symbolic violence by Pierre Bourdieu, and the concept of the connection between water and a woman by Z. Kalnická.
Perception of stereotypes in advertisement by children of age 4 - 6 and 11 - 13
Kovačovičová, Dominika ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Klabíková Rábová, Tereza (referee)
The bachelor thesis is devoted to the perception of gender stereotypes in advertising among children in two age groups, 4 to 6 years old and 11 to 13 years old. Children are considered more vulnerable to the effects of advertising compared to adults. This applies to the influence on purchasing behaviour, as well as to the acquisition of displayed content, for example in the case of stereotypes. The goal of the research was to find out if and how children in these two age groups perceive gender stereotypes in advertising and to compare these groups with each other. The research used interviews and selected activities aimed at different types of advertisements to understand the decision-making process based on them, to investigate how children replicate stereotypes in their own work and to understand what is significant for children in advertisements. The thesis also includes possible approaches and issues of a research with children and, last but not least, the ethics of this type of research. Based on the research, it was found that children in the younger group replicate gender stereotypes significantly more in advertising and in general, and they also use gender to defend their decisions and choices. In the older group, on the other hand, gender stereotypes were less noticeable, and children in...

Čajić, Sanina ; Šístek, František (advisor) ; Žíla, Ondřej (referee)
The master's thesis entitled "Bosnian diaspora through the eyes of Sarajevans - perceptions of emigration and stereotypes" brings a closer view of the Bosnian diaspora and public opinion about it from the perspective of Sarajevans. It represents a socio-psychological qualitative research based on the analysis of 18 semi-structured interviews with the inhabitants of Sarajevo. Using existing theoretical concepts, the primary goal is to explore and list the most widespread stereotypes about the Bosnian diaspora, regardless of whether they are war refugees or economic emigrants. The thesis also represents an attempt to identify the main reasons for their existence and maintenance and looks for possible proposals for their elimination. Whether the departure is legitimate in the eyes of Sarajevans, whether the diaspora lives better, how it was affected by life in the "West" and to what extent Sarajevans are aware of the diaspora's potential and benefits for Bosnia and Herzegovina are some of the questions this thesis seeks to answer. The political and ethnic dimension of the diaspora is not the subject of research, as cultural stereotypes about the Bosnian diaspora do not distinguish between different ethnicities. To complete the overall context, the emigration trends of Bosnia and Herzegovina are also...
