This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the issue of educating students with special edu-cational needs in secondary schools. The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to un-derstand, describe and interpret how their teachers approach the education of these students. In order to better understand the issue, the basic terminology and legal framework of the subject will be introduced in the first part of the thesis. Afterwards the various disabilities that special educational needs of students stem from will be presented, followed by an examination of the support options avai-lable to teachers from schools and other institutions. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, I will discuss various approaches to stu-dents with special educational needs from different perspectives. In the practical part of this thesis, I will describe the results of the exploratory sur-vey, which will be conducted by a qualitative method through semi-structured in-terview as its tool. The collected data will be analyzed using open coding metho-dology.

This Bachelor's thesis entitled EDUCATION OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS was prepared as part of the Bachelor's degree programme. The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of EDUCATION OF PUPILS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS (hereinafter referred to as SEN). The theoretical part deals with the characteristics and categorization of children, pupils and students with SEN, the Czech educational system and legislation. Furthermore, the procedures and methods used in the education of pupils with SEN are generally summarised. In the practical part, based on a questionnaire survey, I developed an overview of what means and methods are most often used in educating students at secondary school from the perspective of educators.
Comparison between Czech Republic and Great Britain in preparation for a child with a disability

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Comparison of the preparation of teaching assistants for working with children with disabilities in the Czech Republic and Great Britain" focuses on comparing how teaching assistants are trained in selected countries using the analysis (of a semi-structured interview) with teaching assistants from both the Czech Republic and Great Britain. In parallel there is also a focus on comparing the strengths and weaknesses of this profession. The structure of the thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part consists of four chapters that compare legislative documents related to inclusion, support measures in education, support measures in the form of teaching assistant and their qualifications. The practical part contains an analysis (using a semi-structured interviews) of teaching assistants from the Czech Republic and Great Britain with the results of the analysis presented. The practical part also contains a comparison of legislative documents, decrees, and school laws, integral to develop the theoretical sections in the form of data/tables. According to the results of the analysis, preparation for the performance of a profession in the Czech Republic and Great Britain is similar in many ways; yet a significant difference was highlighted in the length of compulsory work placement within the qualification course for teaching assistants.
Support for gifted primary school pupils in the Kolín district

The diploma thesis deals with the system of support for gifted pupils in elementary schools with an emphasis on the 1st grade of elementary schools. The aim of the work is to help pedagogues to better understand this issue. The aim of the theoretical part of the work is to describe, based on the available knowledge from the professional literature, how the identification and support of gifted pupils should take place. The theoretical part characterizes the gifted student, defines the concept of giftedness, describes the basic models of giftedness, the typology and manifestations of gifted students, and describes the possibilities of working with gifted students. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the thesis analyzes individual legislative measures and school policy documents that describe the education of gifted pupils in the Czech Republic. The work characterizes the participating system of support for gifted students and their mutual cooperation. Intervention approaches for pupils in primary school with specific learning disabilities

The thesis deals with the definition of intervention provided to pupils with specific learning disabilities in primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the most frequent specific learning disabilities, the characteristics of the younger school age and intervention approaches in primary schools for pupils with specific learning disabilities. The last chapter of the thesis is also the research part, focusing on gathering information regarding intervention for pupils with specific learning needs, their progress within the educational process and information sharing among teachers in the selected primary school. Pupil with special educational needs in small class schools

The thesis deals with the issue of education of pupils with special educational needs in small class schools. In the theoretical part, the concepts related to the issue are outlined, namely special educational needs, support measures and their levels, counselling system, characteristics of selected special educational needs and in the conclusion of the theoretical part attention is paid to small class schools. The basic characteristics, the history of small class schools and how it is abroad and last but not least the advantages and disadvantages of small class schools are presented. The practical part is devoted to the qualitative research conducted to describe the specifics of the approach to pupils with special educational needs in small class schools and what factors play a role in supporting these pupils. Two primary schools from the Pilsen region and one primary school from the South Bohemia region were selected for the research investigation. Observations of teaching of pupils with special educational needs were carried out in these schools. Subsequently, a semi-structured interview was conducted with three class teachers. The collected data was analysed through open coding. The research revealed that small classroom schools represent a suitable environment for pupils with special educational needs.
Education of Preschool Children with Cerebral Palsy

This bachelor thesis focuses on the education of preschool children with cerebral palsy in different educational settings. These are a mainstream nursery school and a day care centre. The essential aim is to find out, how much the choice of pre-school setting affects two children with the same diagnosis in their development and social skills. The work consists of two parts. The theoretical part describes cerebral palsy including its etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and specific manifestations, that are typical for children with cerebral palsy. It also explains the system of preschool education in Czechia and options for children with cerebral palsy. The practical part deals with the characteristics of pre-school educational institutions and detailed anamnestic data. It is implemented by qualitative research, in the form of two case studies. Semi-structured interviews with parents and teaching staff, participant observation of children and document analysis are used for data collection. The data obtained from the interviews are processed through content analysis.
The role of the teaching assistant in distance learning

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out what functions teaching assistants facilitated during distance learning. The thesis is divided into two parts: a theoretical and a practical one. The theoretical part is based on the contemporary literature and focuses on two key concepts required for it - the teaching assistant and the distance learning. The first chapter is devoted to a subject of the teaching assistant and focuses on the historical development of this profession in the Czech republic, the teaching assistant in inclusive education, his/her prerequisites and the scope of work. The end of the first chapter is dedicated to cooperation and communication of the teaching assistant with teachers and legal representatives of pupils with special educational needs. The second chapter of the theoretical part is focused on distance learning, its historical development, specifics and e-learning. The end of this chapter and the entire theoretical part addresses the distance learning as a phenomenon of the Coronavirus period. The practical part is based on a quantitative research, which uses a method of questioning. The aim of the practical part is to identify different roles and activities of the teaching assistants during the distance learning.
Education of Pupils with Special Educational Needs at Waldorf Schools

The bachelor thesis addresses the issue of educating students with a different mother tongue (DMT) in the environment of a Czech elementary Waldorf-type school. The theoretical part defines a student with special educational needs. Next, Waldorf education is described. The research part of the thesis was implemented using a qualitative type of research. The research group included teaching staff who directly participated in the educational process of DMT students.
