Students Start-ups: Establishment and Development

The subject of this thesis is to analyse the actual state of vegetable and microgreens market in Czechia and set a solid foundation for establishment of a microgreens business. The outcome of the thesis is supported by findings from analytic tools such as SLEPTE, SWOT, Porter´s Five Forces model and Lean canvas. The theoretical part includes definitions of basic terms regarding entrepreneurship, startups, and basic explanation of analytical tools. The outcome of the work is to assess all the acquired data and evaluate feasibility of the business plan.

This master´s thesis deals with the analysis of the current status of the manufacturing company from the inner and the outer point of view as well. Firstfully, for the purpose of this analytical part the theoretical basis, where the manufacturing business is operating is defined. Conclusions of the analytical part are used as a foundation for the own proposals.

Annotation: This thesis deals with the development of a small company by means of franchising. This franchising concept is based on the critical analysis of the chosen companies. In the theoretical part I processed franchising generally. The practical part contents the characteristic of the chosen company CZECH RENT A SKI s.r.o. This company deals with a winter equipment rental. I processed this concept based on the analysis of the company. The last part contains the schedule of the implementation of this concept.

Small Business Support in the Czech Republic

The objective of the master´s thesis „Small business support in the Czech republic“ is to carry out analysis of current system of Small business based on a created scope of knowledge necessary for orientation in the respective topic, find deficiencies and suggest innovations. The first part is focused on history, on small and medium enterprise terms definition and the evolution of small business in the Czech Republic in the years 2000 - 2007. The second part is attended to analysis of particular support programs and pointed out on its benefits and disadvantages. In the following part was done the interview, which was intended to find out small and medium-sized entrepreneurs opinion on present situation in entrepreneurial subjects support system. I compared the results with interview investigation carried out in 2006. Final part contains suggestions and recommendations, which could lead to improvement in small entrepreneurs supporting in the Czech Republic.

Data Mining in Small Business

Tato práce si klade za cíl vyhodnotit techniky získávání znalostí pro využití v prostředí malého podnikání. Po prozkoumání dat a konzultace s doménovymi experty byly vybrány dvě úlohy: analyza nákupního košíku a predikce prodejů. Pro analyzu nákupního košíku byl využit algoritmus Relim pro vyhledávání častych itemsetů a metriky určující zajímavost asociačních pravidel. Pro úlohu predikce prodejů byl implementován dekompoziční model, SARIMA, MARS a neuronové sítě s časovym oknem. Modely byly vyhodnoceny. Pomocí optimalizace hyper-parametrů bylo dosaženo přijatelnych vysledků. Oproti předpokladům nedošlo při dodání dat o počasí a využití nelineárních modelů ke zlepšení oproti SARIMA. Predikce byla implementována jako služba na straně serveru pro testování v produkčním prostředí.

Business plan is important and undivided part of company management and of business planning. My master’s thesis points on usefulness of business plan as a medium for beginning entrepreneur, with low capital base, which is searching concepts how to push his visions trough in market. The master’s thesis introduces concrete practical example of creation and maintenance of new generation web portal. Description of usage in marketing and business point of view. This plan also contains concepts of company structure and plan of company expansion in three years term. Parts of the document are estimations of portal and company costs and also estimations of revenues. Document is draw up for multiple usage of business plan, not only for business visions presentation, but also as a concept for obtaining of financial resources from investors.
