Ouhrabková, Eliška ; Oukropec, Jindřich (advisor) ; Švecová, Martina (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the examination of authentic performance on the new social media site BeReal. The ambition of this thesis is to use qualitative methods to find out how selected respondents present themselves on this social network. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on communication, social networks, self-presentation, authenticity and the introduction of the BeReal app. In the practical part, the research methodology is introduced to familiarize the reader with the research sample and research questions. It also presents the justification for the chosen qualitative methods, which in this thesis are semi-structured interviews and the digital tracing method attached to them. The methodology section is followed by the research section of the thesis. This is divided into subsections according to the research questions, which aim to help answer the main research question concerning the extent of user authenticity. The last chapter of the research is then a discussion of the results, which summarises the interview findings and links them to the theoretical knowledge from the first part of the thesis. The final section of the paper provides a brief summary of the results and suggestions for further investigation of the phenomenon.

Márkus, Maja Olívia ; Neag, Annamária (advisor) ; Shavit, Anna (referee)
Climate crisis is arguably one of the most pressing issues of our societies currently. As social media has become an important part of our everyday lives and is a tool with the capacity to influence the opinion and behaviour of people, this master thesis wants to explore how climate activists portray themselves on the visual social media platform Instagram and encourage offline green action among their followers. The research is based on the qualitative content analysis of 12 semi-structured interviews with young climate activists who use Instagram and the analysis of their posts. The thesis uses Goffman's presentation of self in an online context, internet activism, the personalisation of politics, social media influencers and climate communication as its theoretical framework. Results showed that climate activists not only use social media strategies of influencers on Instagram (often unwillingly), but also heavily rely on the personification of their messages and sharing aspects of their personal lives to establish connections with their followers. Climate activists interviewed qualified as micro-influencers, which allowed them to form deep relationships with their audience because of the small follower base and gave them the possibility to assess the extent of their impact on their audience's...
Young artists and social networking sites.
Smutný, Viktor ; Kolomoiets, Maksym (advisor) ; Průchová Hrůzová, Andrea (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to explain how artists from the generation of digital natives introduced by Dingli and Dylan use Social Networking Sites (SNS). Goal of this thesis is to identify what content do artists share and what they want to achieve with it. There will also be explained what content is not shared and if this is a form of self-censorship or something more in line with certain restrictions to convey desired image. The main theoretical background comes from the concept of self-presentation, which was explained by Goffman in offline space and reworked by Hogan, who introduced the theory of exhibition in online space. This thesis explains that main goal for artists is to create a certain exhibition of their artwork. Exhibition serves as a place, where artists can display their artwork in the best way possible for the audience, which can be used by artists. The use is mostly financial, it can be direct, or someone from the audience can afford them employment, or use their popularity as a motivation for their potential employers. Creation of this exhibition comes with a cost, content focused on anything, but art is either completely absent or employed in a way that is restricted. Certain type of restrictions is used even in art focused content, so the viewer has the best possible...

Bjaček, Jakub ; Pospíšilová, Marie (advisor) ; Krištofič, Peter (referee)
Jakub Bjaček Meaning of virtual reality for a social group of NEETs Abstract In this bachelor thesis I tried to look in more detail on the current issue of NEETs (acronym for "Not in Education, Employment, or Training"), in short, people who usually do not voluntarily participate in socialization through employment or institutional education. I was mainly interested in the reasons why this is so. Whether it is more about external causes (changes in the labour market, youth unemployment, competitive environment) or even causes of an internal nature. The question was where the NEETs are presenting themselves and how they spend time. That is why I focused on an online space in which a certain part of them could be active more visibly. This leaves me a relatively narrow target group of people who can be ranked in the NEETs category and also are active in the online space. These links have built research objectives. The question is how NEETs are presenting themselves in the online space. I was interested in virtual identity as a way to gain new social capital. This bachelor thesis is not about a comprehensive insight into the sociologically issue of NEETs as a whole, but about a certain view on this issue from the perspective of a particular activity (activities in the online environment and the perceptions and...
