The impact of selected external sources of feedback on activities of school principals

This bachelor's thesis is aimed to learn how particular external sources of feedback affect the work of a headmaster in particular schools of the Liberec Region. We paid attention primarily to the external sources of feedback that may affect educational process. So we paid the most attention not only to the external sources providing external evaluation, such as the Czech School Inspectorate, school authorities, but also to sources providing information from national and international examinations in the measurement of students' education outcomes, or external sources providing results of unified entrance exams and school leaving exams. Research investigation had the character of qualitative research the main method of which was an interview which was subsequently transcribed into protocols and which was further analyzed, interpreted, and evaluated. The total of five school principals from the Liberec Region were addressed of whom two school principals were from public schools, two school principals from private schools and one school principal from a religious school. Managerial competences in pre-primary education

The thesis deals with the topic of managerial competences in pre-primary education. This topic has been chosen on the basis of ever-changing and evolving demands on the management of kindergartens and the need for high-quality and very comprehensive competencies of kindergarten headmasters. The aim of this thesis is to compare managerial competencies and on the basis of these acquired information to design the most appropriate model of competencies of directors of these contributory organizations. The theoretical part analyzes individual competencies in the field of economic, personal and legal management of the school. The practical part is focused on the comparison of individual areas of management in terms of their complexity and assessment of managerial competences with respect to the time burden. The work is based on professional literature, valid legal norms and results of the research conducted. Inspiration from Collins's methodical approach in the research of the headmaster's leadership

6 ABSTRACT The diploma thesis examines the leadership of the principals from three primary schools. The thesis is an inspirational attempt to transfer the concept of the business sphere to a specific segment of management education. Jim Collins's five-year study, Good to Great (Collins 2001), unveiled crucial factors in transforming a business from "good to great". This study is the inspiration for adapting the 5th Level Leader Concept to the environment of three selected schools, focusing on their principals who managed to get their "schools" out of mediocrity. The theoretical part is divided into three basic chapters, which are dedicated to leadership, school management specifics, and to Collins's study with the focus on the 5th level leader concept. The summary of the findings from the reference literature in the theoretical part is the basis for the practical part, which examines the principals of three schools in six attributes according to Collins's study. The aim of this thesis is to assess whether the personalities of the selected principals correspond to the 5th level leader concept, which are specific, characteristic, inborn characteristics and abilities that are independent of practice, education, training, and specific knowledge. Management in preprimary education

For diploma thesis I chose the topic of management of educational institutions. The aim of the thesis is an analysis of managerial activities director nursery school focusing on personnel management. We focused on the issue of the relationship performs headmaster all managerial activities, what time frame they have to pay, how well it is able to fulfill. Individual chapters are based on the general theory of management, managerial functions, personnel, operations and human resources management. The practical part of the evaluation research. Method for obtaining data was used, primarily, time snapshot of all activities director kindergarten and secondarily, identification questionnaire. Based on the research model was created activities director kindergarten with basic timing in the form of a monthly interval. In the end we will find the time spent evaluating director of the kindergarten and recommendations, which should streamline the functioning of the school.
School Board in the management of school

The aim of this thesis was to determine to what extent and in what areas the school board controls affects the work of the school principal. The operational objective was to specify the problematic areas of the relationship from the perspective of the school principal and suggest how their effects mitigated or eliminated. Respondents of empirical research using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were directors of elementary and secondary schools, established by the Central Bohemia Region. The aim of the research was to obtain the most comprehensive description of the relationship between the school board and school management system. The results of the survey can be used in particular to seek ways and other opportunities for cooperation between the school principal and the school board so that their actions helped to improve the quality of management of the school principal. They can also be used as a basis for more efficient operation of the School Board itself. The survey results can be used and founder of the school as an oportunity to improve the working conditions of school management. This bachelor's dissertation is focussing on problems with the excessive strain of numery school principals. It describes all issues including principal responsibilities in sphere of economy, financing and accounting , and at the same time it offers potential solution of a workload reduction. This dissertation is based on a konfidence that should principal of numery school pay attention specialy to the pedagogic process management, there has to be an efficient separation of authorities among principals, school mid-management and external servise suppliers. In the final part of dissertation you will find the brief recommendation regarding principal options for the workload reduction and at the same time the reduction of risk of his economic responsibility in managing the school.
