Brno-Zábrdovice Spa, the Reconstruction, and the Completion

The bachelor’s thesis solves the reconstruction and extension of the functionalist building of “Winter Spa” Brno-Zábrdovice, Brno, Czech Republic. The main goal of this work was to propose a new functional use of the current building with respect to the original function and to add an annexe to increase an attractiveness of the building and the services offered. Bachelor’s thesis only includes reconstruction of the “Winter Spa”, while the expansion of the new building of indoor pools has been projected. The reconstruction of spa and pool will form a large sports centre. The customers will have an access to the services of wellness center, fitness center, gym, dance halls for sports and the other fitness disciplines, restaurants, cosmetic studio where the expanded services in the field of non-invasive liposuction will be provided and also they will be able to pick up internet packages. An annexe with stairs and elevator has been designed to facilitate the interconnection of all floors of sports and wellness center. The building of „Winter Spa“ and newly built indoor pool will be linked together by a central entrance hall with cash registers and reception. The entrance hall is also an entry into the summer area.
Sport hall

The aim of the diploma thesis is to elaborate the project documentation of the sports hall in the town of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. The object is situated in an area with several other sports grounds. The building is partially basement with one overground floor. On the first floor there is a large and small gym, a fitness room and two massage rooms. There are also changing rooms for guests, staffing facilities, utility room, technical room and office for the managers of the sports hall. The underground floor features a bar with a billiard room and bowling. In the basement is also designed a warehouse, a technical room and separate toilets for men, women and invalids. The construction system of the hall is combined. The hall is based on foundation girders and baseplaces. The perimeter and interior masonry is from the Porotherm system. Pillars are reinforced concrete. The perimeter masonry is complemented by a contact thermal insulation system. The ceilings are designed from Spiroll cavity panels. The roof is designed flat on two levels. The roof above the hall is carried by timber truss girder. The roof above the background carries Spiroll cavity panels.
Water park Brno

The subject matter of the assigned project is Aquapark Brno – located near Lužánky. The subject is an architectural study elaboration of an aquapark adjoining the current swimming pool building which was established in 1979. This building facility is used primarily by professional swimmers and sportsmen for it contains the only 50 meters long swimming pool with a tribune in Brno. The aim of the project is to create new areas and pools for visitors with recreational intentions and therefore to widen the possibilities for free time activities. The project also deals with restoration of a 16 meters long training pool in the existing building, creation of inner and outer aquapark areas and adding exercise and dance halls as an extension to the existing fitness center. Another goal of this project was to make the pedestrian access to the area more pleasant which is achieved by creating an underground parking space in the area of the existing building’s frontal space and also by designing a footpath leading from the remote side of the excessively frequented Sportovní street. The primary aim of the project is an operational connection of the existing and the new building by a central building and also preventing an eclipse of the area by integrating the building in the area’s hillside. The advantage of the project is the presence of relaxation facilities and sports areas. The project completes the sporting environment of the area which makes it an attractive locality for a family recreation.
Sports Center

The subject of the master’s thesis is the development of project documentation for the construction of a Sports Center located in Liberec. The building is designed as partially basemented with two above-ground floors. The main entrance to the building is visually separated from the rest of the structure. Its shelter is formed by a balcony structure, which also serves as a space for a 3D logo. In the first above-ground floor, there is a gym with a reception, offices, separate changing rooms for women and men, and three rooms for strength training. The rooms are divided according to the types of training, such as conditioning, strength, cardio, etc. In the second above-ground floor, there is a yoga studio with a separate reception, a staff lounge, separate changing rooms for women and men, and three rooms for yoga practice. The room with a smaller area for yoga practice serves for more private lessons or massages. In the respective receptions, there are areas for exhibiting items for sale. In the basement, the technical facilities of the building and storage rooms are located. The foundation of the structure consists of concrete strips. The ceiling structures are reinforced concrete. The roofing is solved with a flat roof with an extensive green layer. The walls are made of ceramic polished masonry elements, except for the perimeter walls of the basement, which are made of formwork lost blocks. The building is insulated with an External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS).
Favorite Brno / cycling / track stadium bikrosová architectural study design

The thesis was preceded by a specialized atelierwork "architectural study of BMX track of the Favorit Brno. Further elaboration of the architectural and urban study of the sports complex in Komárov with the presumption of the dominant of the cycling hall. Evaluation of existing buildings and newly designed sports facilities. The diploma thesis deals with the development of a new concept of the area, where it will have its place for both professional and recreational sports. The aim of the proposal is to create a significant area both professional and recreational sport. The main part of the work is devoted to the design of o new cycling stadium owned but TJ Favoritisms Brno. The hall should have sufficient capacity and facilities to hold international sporting events in cycling. At the same time it should be useful for smaller races and other events. Another requirement is that the stadium can provide enough facilities for the TJ Favorit Brno cycling club. The home base is currently a cycling stadium at the Brno Exhibition Grounds. This stadium is currently inadequate, serving only as a training course. It does not meet conditions of the international Federation od UCI. The design of the variable space of the hall deserves a further attention at least, because it will serve athletics of other sporting events. The cycling stadium is located in the northern part of the grounds. It place emphasis on the scattered surfaces in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, easy orientation and layout of entries from all sides of the object, separation of athletes from spectators. The main expressive element is two masses, one of which allows the public to climb the ramp along the perimeter of the stadium to lookout points. From the ramp you can see the action inside the stadium. The attractiveness of the entire area is enhanced by the proposed traffic playground and bombrack. The total area will be separated from traffic. 3 new car parks will be built in the area.
Mikulášek Square Brno

The goal of this project is to design Mikulášek Square in Brno - Starý Lískovec as a place of social activities, cultural events and active relaxation in connection with a park and green vegetation. The square is a place of social contact, place of everyday life and cultural events, public, living and generally a busy place. The park is more restful, green and natural place. The park is a green framework of social interaction and rest in the urban surroundings. However, both have something in common. They are the places made artificially for people, the places of intensive life. Without relevant background they are unusable, they have no sense and they are abandoned. The purpose of new Mikulášek Square in Brno - Starý Lískovec was to design a new place as a transitional zone from the rush of public transport to the green park. The square should be a peaceful pedestrian zone with greenery supplemented by the public park with a water area, a café and an active park with multipurpose areas for games and sport activities such as pétanque field and a field for dogs. It is the comprehensive solution for Mikulášek Square with respect for local residents in surrounding blocks of flats, seniors in home for the elderly and children who have no place for their games. The whole area is fully wheelchair accessible. In this part only the sport centre a passageway are described and solved in details.
Sports and Leisure Centre Brno

The theme of the dissertation titled the Centre of Sport and Leisure Time in Brno is a design of a relaxing and sport site „Centrum Lužánky“. The subject of this project is architectonic-city-planning study, which deals with elaborating a concept of a sport centre behind Lužánky in Brno-Ponava. This dissertation contains details of the facility and the area of the current swimming pool Lužánky. The current state of the facility built in 1979 doesn’t meet requirements of visitors and sportsmen anymore. The main aim of this project is the reconstruction of the current fifty-meter swimming pool, a design of a new swimming pool placed under the ground floor of the current building, which will provide space for organizing international competitions, trainings of professional sportsmen, etc. At the same time the busyness of the current swimming pools would be lowered by building a new indoor and outdoor waterpark, especially for the group of recreational visitors. The attractiveness of the facility will be increased by the newly designed park relaxing area and proposed multipurpose area, used as a sports field in the summer and as an ice ring in the winter. Additional value of the facility is comprised by an indoor and outdoor café and large relaxing area on the roof of the waterpark. The whole area increases the community facility availability by a proposed wide range of services for health, relax and sport. The advantage of the whole concept is the mutual connection of all facilities. The entrance to the area is shortened by a designed pedestrian bridge, accessible from the south and north busy areas. The whole project is enhanced by increased number of new parking places, located particularly along the access road, the street Sportovní, going through a green zone. The road and parking places are proposed in the design of residential streets, respecting walking pedestrians. The area has a very rich sport history, which is dated back to 1922. WATER+TOWN MARINA BRUNENSIS

The plot is 9 houses designed with different functions. The main function of the home storage vessels. Other additional functions are a café, gym, spa, garage, car, boat garage, offices, locker rooms and club athletes.Houses are made of glued trusses shaped house with a gable roof. The facade is composed of titanium zinc surface. The glass facade is just in front of a house. The houses are oriented differently. Shielding is provided by means of sliding shutters.
Sports relaxation centre in Havlíčkův Brod

This diploma thesis deals with a project of an sports relaxation centre in Havlíčkův Brod Ledečská street on plots no. 561/1 and 664/17 that are slightly sloping. The building is non-basement with 2 above-ground floors. The exterior load-bearing walls are made of clay blocks complemented with thermal insulation system according to ETICS. The building foundations are designes as strip foundations from concrete. Horizontal load-bearing structures will be made of prestressed concrete floor slab Spiroll. The building is roofed with a warm flat roof. First ground floor consists of sport part, there are big and small gym, crossfit excercise hall, 3 excercises halls for group lessons and 2 squash courts. It is also possible to use workout playground which is approached from the gym. There is also a buffet near the entrance. Second ground floor serves for relaxation, there are salt cave, sauna world with 5 different saunas (Finnish and also steam) and Whirlpool. The sauna world has also a cooling pool. Visitors can also use the outdoor rest area with a cooling pond. There are also a massage room, pedicure/manicure, solarium and sports shop.
Sports Center

The diploma thesis deals with design and elaboration of the project documentation of the sports center. The proposed sport center facility is located in the western part of Zruč nad Sázavou, in a location designed for buildings and areas of sport and relaxation use. The object of the sports center is designed as two-storey, non-blocked, roofed flat roof. The main feature of the sports center is the multipurpose sports hall with a single-shell curved flat roof. The supporting element is a curved glued lamellar truss. The proposed contruction of the sports center has 2 functional parts. This is a multipurpose sports hall with backgrounds (dressing rooms, washrooms), two squash courts, a gym and two exercise halls as well as facilities. The sports hal lis complemented by tribune for 380 spectators. The second part is a sports bar with a capacity of 40 people. The perimeter structures of the sports center are designed by a ceramic and insulated mineral wool contact systém with a ventilated aluminum facade. The supporting ceiling structure consists of prefabricated Spiroll panels. Designed 2 VZT engine rooms in 2nd floor, on efor 1st floor and second for 2nd floor including sports hall.
