Resumé In the modern world, the media has become a part of the political system of each state. Print media have the ability to influence public opinion in different ways of manipulating with information. The media, as it turns out, is not only the servant for broader swath of the population, but also for different social groups and individual, which are often seeking for the greater political influence. The media activity brings serious socio-political and public implications, because the nature of the information directing at the public specifies the relationship to reality and forces the public to certain decisions, which could affect the social level of the individual, then the whole state. German activist parties during Czechoslovak First Republic and their reflection in the Czechoslovak press
Dressler, Martin ; Kučera, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kunštát, Miroslav (referee)
This bachelor thesis addresses the policy of German activism, which took place in interwar Czechoslovakia, and its reflection by the Czech press at the time. The policy of activism was applied by Sudeten-German political parties, which aimed to reach their goals by collaboration with the Czechs. The newspapers were chosen considering their social importance and also their characteristic social-political views, typical for the era of the first Czechoslovak Republic. The thesis is focused on three turning points of the history of German activism, as well as of the history of Czechoslovakia. It is aimed to answer not only the question of how the reflection in individual newspapers varied, but its goal is also to bring closer the details of the cohabitation of Czech and Germans; though it ended bitterly, there were bright moments too.

Řepa, Karel ; Müller, Karel (advisor) ; Lisa, Aleš (referee)
The main subject of this thesis is the activism of the LGBT community in the Czech Republic after 1989. The first goal is to analyse the living conditions of homosexuals in the Czech Republic, the possibilities for achieving greater rights, and the forms of activism which have helped to lead to the current situation. The second goal is to analyse a particular form of activism -- the street marches and public gatherings commonly known as 'Gay Prides'. In the first chapter I will introduce the subject of political activism in the Czech Republic in general and will then focus further on the mode of activism typical for human-rights organizations. In the second chapter I will analyse the living conditions of homosexuals in the Czech Republic, the possibilities for achieving greater rights, and the forms of activism which have helped to lead to the current situation from the institutional, legislative and personal perspective and I will also consider public opinion on the rights of sexual minorities. The third chapter is about the street marches that have taken place in the Czech Republic and here I will especially focus on the Gay Pride called 'Queer Parade 2008' that took place in 2008 in Brno. This Pride can be considered to be the first ever Pride in the Czech Republic. In the last part of this thesis I will introduce the results of the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the Czech printed media's response to the Queer Parade 2008.
