The thesis involves an introduction, main part and conclusion. The main part is divided into seven chapters. The first one presents explanation of unemployment, its different types and consequences. Social problems of the citizens of "Holýšovsko" and their consideration according the Act on Assistance in Material Need
ŽÁKOVÁ, Jana
The subject matter of bachelor thesis is focused on social problems of the Holštýnsko region citizens and assessment of those problems according to the law on aid in material distress. In the theoretical part the basic aspects of social policy, poverty, poverty management and legal regulations of the issue are outlined. The objective of the thesis was to give an overview of the structure of aid in material distress recipients in the region and to identify the effectiveness as well as the use of activation measures of the Act No. 111/2006 Coll. towards applicants for aid in material distress. Both quantitative and qualitative research was used to achieve the stated objectives of this thesis. For data collection in the quantitative research the chosen method was questioning, the technique of guided interview with 51 recipients of aid in material distress. The responses were analyzed and presented in the thesis by using graphs and tables. Within the secondary data analysis I focused on the social status of respondents, their age, unemployment duration, the living allowance period and education of respondents. On the basis of the stated objectives 2 hypotheses were set up. Hypothesis 1 assumed that most recipients of aid in material distress have only primary education. This hypothesis was not confirmed. In the Holýšov region most people affected by material distress are people with secondary vocational education holding a vocational certificate. Hypothesis 2 assumed that the concept of public service has not brought the effects expected. This hypothesis was confirmed both by the result of interviewing the recipients of aid in material distress, and by the results obtained from interviews with representatives of local authorities. In the qualitative research the method of questioning was used, the half standardized interview with nine representatives of local authorities. Due to the research used the hypothesis was set up at the end of the research. Hypothesis 3: The rise of unemployment will make local representatives establish a public service institute. The results of the thesis can be used to increase the awareness of the public as well as of local representatives on activation instruments according to the law on aid in material distress and on possibilities for citizens to obtain aid in the case of insufficient incomes. They may also serve as a source of information about the problem of providing aid in material distress for the Municipal Authority Holýšov and the Regional Authority of the Plzeň Region.
The impact of the Employment Act, valid since 1st January 2006, on the input of university graduates into Labour Office{\crq}s files in the District of České Budějovice
PETRÍKOVÁ, Vlasta
On the 1st January 2006, Act No. 435/2004 Sb. on employment, which was amended by Act No. 382/2005 Sb., came into force. The objective of the act is protection against unemployment, securing full employment and combating illegal employment. This includes a change of condition for obtaining the claim for unemployment benefits. One of the conditions for obtaining the claim for unemployment benefits is to pay retirement income insurance and the contribution for the national employment policy for the 12 months in the decisive period of the last there years before being put in the files of job applicants. From the 1st Oct. 2004 systematic preparation for one{\crq}s future occupation was not included as substitutive employment period at all. Since the 1st Jan. 2006, systematic preparation for one{\crq}s future occupation has been included as substitutive employment period; however, not more than 6 months may be included for these purposes. To file their claims for benefit, the graduates have to hold, before being put into the files of job applicants, a job that allocates the duty to pay insurance for at least six months over the last three years. The research was conducted by means of a quantitative sociological investigation. The technique used for data collection was an anonymous questionnaire. The research set was made up of students of the last years of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies of the University of South Bohemia and university and college graduates of in the files of job applicants at the Labour Office in České Budějovice. The objective of my thesis was to find out the attitude of students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies to their possible employment, to compare the obtained data with the answers of university graduates in the file of job applicants at the Labour Office in České Budějovice and to find out the structure of university graduates registered at the Labour Office in České Budějovice, according to the university or college that they graduated from. The objectives of the thesis have been fulfilled. The outcomes of the thesis could be used as an overview of students{\crq} and graduates{\crq} attitude to unemployment and their future employment. These outcomes can be made use of by those who are in charge of the education of these two groups of people. Unemployment in students can optimally be prevented by preventive measures, e.g. by giving due attention to the choice of the branch of study with respect to its use in the labour market, and by providing each individual student with sufficient information.
