Šulcová, Kateřina ; Hájková, Vanda (advisor) ; Šumníková, Pavlína (referee)
This master's thesis is focused on the Snoezelen concept used for patients with physical or multiple disabilities. The Snoezelen concept can be applied as a therapy, an auxiliary educational method or possibility to spend free time in various facilities like schools, school facilities, rehabilitation centers or retirement homes. For that reason, Snoezelen concept can be used by many clients and professionals. However, it is mostly used for patients with mental deficiency; that is reflected in the majority of researches. Therefore, patients with physical and combined deficiency were chosen for purpose of this Master's thesis as this issue has not been yet examined enough. The Master's thesis aim is to gather relevant information of the Snoezelen concept and to make quantitative research with a questionnaire that determines rate of using the concept, awareness level and attitude of clients with physical and multiple disabilities, their representatives and professionals. From these data, a summary is created for that issue. A very low awareness level was found in clients with physical and multiple disabilities, their representatives and professionals. Therefore an information leaflet was created and is provided at the end of the Master's thesis. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Integration and education of children with disabilities in primary schools in the chomutov region
KOLÍNKOVÁ, Michaela
The topic of the Bachelor Thesis relates to the integration and education of children with a bodily handicap in basic schools in the Chomutov Region. In the theoretical part of my thesis I deal with the terminology of the integration and definition of the term of bodily handicap, and I describe the development of the school integration in the Czech Republic, while I focus particularly to the support of the integration in terms of the legislative and economic funding. I aim at the role of special-pedagogical centres and pedagogical-psychological consultancy offices in the process of integration. The main goal of my thesis was to identify how the conditions of integration are fulfilled from the point of view of the Headmasters of schools, teachers, assistants, pedagogues, and, but not limited to, the parents themselves. For the satisfaction of the main goal, I set up three partial goals. At first, to identify the financial conditions of the integration, at second, to find out the extent of the awareness of the pedagogues, and at first, what the activity of special- pedagogical centres is, and/or of the pedagogical-psychological consultancy offices in this area of their professional work. For my research, I used a questionnaire survey at which I attempted to find out the opinions, attitudes and experience of the pedagogues as well of the parents of the integrated pupils. For the survey at the consultancy school facilities I employed the methods of a semi-controlled interview. Through my survey performed, I managed to find out that the addressed respondents showed, in the majority of the cases, a positive approach to integration. The Headmasters of schools see, as the core one, the problem of insufficient financial funds for the integration. The teachers particularly encounter partial problems directly at the time of teaching. The approach of all assistants of pedagogues to integration is positive, however their workload is not clearly defined. From the parents' point view, the conditions for the integration are good, and they see in it an unambiguous benefit for their children. Integration in the Czech Republic is legislatively supported, but in the normal life of schools it however has been facing both the financial and practical difficulties. Because in the Chomutov District, there is only a special-pedagogical centre aimed at defects of hearing, I believe that a facility focused on all types of handicap would be vastly beneficial.
The Experiential Education and Its Implementation with Physically Handicapped People
PLOJHAROVÁ, Kateřina
The topic of my bachelor degree thesis was the experience-based learning and its implementation for persons with physical disabilities. In the theoretical part of my bachelor degree thesis I focused on the history of physical handicaps in Bohemia, on health and physical disabilities, on education and rights of persons with physical disabilities, experience-based learning and its elements and on non-governmental non-for-profit organizations. In the practical part of my bachelor degree thesis I focused on the definition of the objectives, methods and results. The first objective of the practical part was to map the offer and realization of free-time activities for people with disabilities in the South Bohemian region. The second objective was to inquire selected non-governmental non-for-profit organizations whether they provide any experience-based activities. The method of the research was a quantitative survey using the method of inquiry with a questionnaire developed specifically for the purpose. The survey was performed in March and April 2011 in non-governmental non-for-profit organizations that deal with free-time activities of persons with physical disabilities in the South Bohemian region. The total number of non-governmental non-for-profit organizations we approached was 15 and the number willing to participate was 8. The results of the survey have shown that five out of the eight non-governmental non-for-profit organizations realize free-time activities for persons with physical disabilities, while one of them performs such activities only marginally and on a one-off basis, two organizations deal with a different kinds of disabilities and one deals with consulting. Free-time activities that focus on experience-based learning are realized by DC ADRA, the 1st center for people with disabilities South Bohemia, Family Center Rozárka and the Association Handicapped Child. The set objectives have been achieved. The discussion contains an analysis of the results and a comparison of the results with the theory. The conclusions summarize the entire bachelor degree thesis. The thesis presents an integrated overview of non-governmental non-for-profit organizations in the South Bohemian region that work with person with physical disabilities and realize activities focusing on experiences.
