The decision - making of families caring for a senior member before and during the COVID19 pandemic

The diploma thesis topic is the decision-making of families regarding the care of their relatives in the elderly before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The work aims to find out and describe the reasons of caregivers which led to the choice of a specific type of care for their relatives before and during the pandemic, through retrospective interviews with family members of seniors. At the same time, to reflect with the respondents on the changes they had to deal with during the pandemic in relation to the care of the elderly. The work is divided into the theoretical and methodological part. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters and primarily focuses on the general characteristics of care for the elderly, the definition of key needs of seniors, and the impact of the pandemic on the lives of seniors and carers. Due to the focus of the diploma thesis, he also deals with the typology of family caregivers. The aim of this part was to define the typology of families, with which I further worked in the methodological part. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on setting the insolvency law agenda

The diploma thesis "The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on setting the insolvency law agenda" deals with how the pandemic crisis caused by the COVID-19 disease affected the political agenda in the field of insolvency. It presents the main elements and benefits of the Lex Covid Justice Act, presented by the Department of Justice to prevent debt and the rise of insolvency petitions caused by pandemic measures introduced by the government, such as the closure of several business. The institute of the extraordinary moratorium which was introduced by the Lex Covid Justice Act is described in detail. The thesis uses the theory of setting an agenda with an emphasis on a critical event, the features of which the COVID-19 pandemic had. In the practical part, an expert interview is used to collect data and to comprehensively analyse the benefits of the law, the views of the actors on the institute of the extraordinary moratorium and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the issue of insolvency. Mental health of the Czech university students

The diploma thesis deals with the mental health of university students in the Czech Republic. This work aims to map the factors that affect university students' mental health. Other goals are to determine the state of mental health of university students and determine to what extent university studies influence their mental health. The last goal of the thesis is to propose public policy measures that can be taken in this area as preventive and which could lead to improving the mental health of university students. The diploma thesis is based on the theory of Six Dimensions of Wellness (for the approach to the concept of mental health) and the theory of the social determents of health which approaches the factors that affect health in general. Hypotheses were developed from these theories and other literature. The research consists of two parts: qualitative and quantitative research. As part of quantitative research, the variables that affect the mental health of university students are examined using the Spearmen correlation coefficient. Pandemic Crisis Management: The Case Study of Childcare Facilities for Children under Five Years of Age

The master thesis is focused on crisis management during the covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, it focuses on childcare facilities for children under five years of age in the period from March 2020 to June 2021. The particular types of facilities are under the responsibility of three ministries. The aim of the work is to describe what the crisis management in this area looked like, how the interdepartmental cooperation looked like, and what impact it had on the facilities themselves and subsequently on the families. The diploma thesis is embedded in various concepts of crisis management, but also interdepartmental cooperation and strategic governance. As a part of elaboration of the topic, eight expert interviews were conducted, which are supplemented by an analysis of public policy documents (eg selected government pandemic measures, other government documents, methodologies, etc.). The analysis showed that the first phase of the pandemic was the most problematic, however some of the problems persisted in other phases. Risk management in retirement homes with regard to COVID-19 pandemic

The diploma thesis focuses on risk management in retirement homes and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the risk management in retirement homes. The aim of this thesis is to describe how risks are managed in retirement homes. The first sub-objective is to identify similarities and differences in risk management in different organizations and the second sub- objective is to examine whether and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected risk management in the organizations. In the theoretical part, we describe the role of retirement homes in the context of social services. We also focus on the COVID-19 and the course of COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech republic and in the retirement homes. In the last chapter of this part we present risk management and its role in organization. Three organizations participated in the qualitative research. Through in-depth interviews with managers and documentation analysis, the risk management practices in these organizations are described. Based on the statements of managers, recommendations were formulated for managers in retirement homes on how to improve the organisational risk management.

Seasonality of Selected Demographic Events in the Czech Republic after 1950 Abstract This thesis is focusing on seasonality of marriages, live births, induced abortions, spontaneous abortions, deaths and suicides in the Czech Republic in the period of 1950-2019. The thesis also describes several factors, which affect the seasonality of these events. The data is analyzed according to individual months in each year. Furthermore, the period is divided into decades which are described in more detail. Seasonality of live births, induced abortions and suicides is also analyzed with focus on particular day of the week. Seasonality of marriages is influenced mainly by social and cultural factors, legislations changes and traditions. The seasonality of live births is influenced by bioclimatic, energetic and social factors. The seasonality of induced abortions is influenced by the time of conception and operation of medical facilities. Seasonality of deaths is influenced by bioclimatic and sociodemographic factors. Suicides are combination of bioclimatic and social factors. Moreover, the thesis analyzes the changes in seasonality of some demographic events that happened in the pandemic year of 2020.
