The Karel Löw´s Residence in Helenín

The theme of the bachelor's thesis is the base of Karl Löw in Helenin. The thesis describes not only the history of the factory complex and its representative part from 1919, but also the current appearance of the building, which is being maintained and used by the Secondary School of Art and Industry in Jihlava Helenin at present time. The thesis also outlines the transformations of the building, which always reflected the current needs. In addition to the building history, the thesis describes the style and formal characteristics, scope of knowledge and taste of the builder. Although no plans of the representative premises in Helenin have been preserved, the thesis mentions several possible architects.

Bachelor thesis is dedicated to the floral detail in the creation of significant garden creators late 19th and early 20th centuries. Attention is paid to the styles of garden architect making this period and its creators. Thesis is focused on floral detail, or to different ways to use herbs not only in private gardens as well as parks, spa towns and cemeteries. Furthermore, this thesis focuses on the life and work of the specific personality of garden art, Joseph Kumpán, who significantly influenced the former garden and landscape creation in our country. The information obtained is then applied to the object model gardens in the Česká Skalice. Based on the results of the field survey, historic photographs and maps of the original garden plans and sketches have been prepared reconstruction of the original flowerbeds. The information obtained is accompanied by rich visual documentation.
Social Tendencies and Vladimír Astl's Work

One of the main objectives of this thesis is not only to map the life of Czech sculptor Vladimir Astl, but also explore various inspirational sources he might have used when creating social oriented pieces. Those are critical in is work. Typical avatars of plastics with social context are Žízeň (Thirst), Smutek (Sadness) or Stará žena (Old Woman), all of them from the period of 1905 - 1910. The initial chapter shortly discusses social problem which existed during the verge of 19th and 20th century and immediately influenced increasing use of social topics in art. Next chapter elaborates on these topics in more detail and focuses on changes of French society which were closely tied to the occurence of ambitious ideas to build monuments celebrating work of men. This chapter also discusses sculpture in France in more depth with focus on labor-oriented pieces from August Rodin, Jules Dalou and Henri Bouchard. The work of mentioned sculptors was dedicated to monuments celebrating labour. These formed a common inspiration source for social related themes in Czech sculpture of the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Desteny of schools of Central School Foundation and their teachers; Central School Foundation in South Bohemia 1880-1918

The submitted thesis deals with the function of private minority schools of Central School Foundation and destiny of their teachers in South Bohemia between 1880 and 1918. In the first chapters it takes down circumstances of the rise of Central School Foundation and the school laws of the second half of the 19th century, which was important for primary schools and their teachers. Decision points of this work are chapters about private minority schools of Central School Foundation and their teachers. In this part, the work is based on the sources from National Archive in Prague and States district archives in South Bohemia (school chronicles and documents). The chapter about private minority schools of Central School Foundation takes down these schools from their opening to transfer into public administration and later support of Central School Foundation to their public schools. The chapters about teachers of Central School Foundation mapping their problems as employee private association, their financial and living conditions and their provision in case of old age and illness. Conditions and Impacts of the Auguste Rodin's Exhibition in Prague 1902

One of the main goals of this thesis is to map and describe the events which resulted in the Auguste Rodin's exhibition in Prague 1902 and its impacts on the Czech contemporary artistic scene. First chapter shortly focuses on the evolution of often complicated relationship between Paris and Prague and its connection to the exhibition. Following chapter elaborates on the preparations which took place before the actual exhibition, such as the steps which had to be taken by the Manes Association of Fine Artists to make the event happen (mutual correspondence between Stanislav Sucharda and Auguste Rodin, unique issue of the magazine Volné Směry, Prague municipal's delegation visit at Rodin's studio in Paris, Josef Mařatka's involvement in the organization of the exhibition etc.). Next chapter continues to describe the steps which had to be taken before the grand opening to general public. Fifth chapter covers Rodin's arrival to Prague and the most important items of his agenda, which had been prepared for this significant French sculptor. Second, and substantial, part of this thesis elaborates on the fallout caused by Rodin's work and his visit to Prague and the various means that local artists came up with when trying to deal with it. Jana Cermanová Prague sculpture exhibitions 1898 - 1916 A contribution to the theme of gallery sculpture presentation Dissertation synopsis Sculpture as an artistic discipline experienced a dynamic rise in the Czech lands at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. This followed the much admired example of France, where Charles Morice, referencing Rodin and his pupils, asserted the dominance of modern sculpture over painting in 1910. Thanks in large part to major art world figure and educator J. V. Myslbek, the Czech lands also saw the development of a highly ambitious group of sculptors poised to address a growing social demand for monumental works (particularly memorials) that recaptured the city's public space. Sculptors worked on architectural commissions for decorative sculptures and on orders for funerary objects, which guaranteed them an income and enabled them to pursue their own creative work. However, it was chiefly this "flood of monuments" that attracted public attention to sculptors and garnered them social prestige. Operation of national conservation organizations from 19th and 20th century in Jindřichův Hradec and around

The submitted theses deals with the function of the Czech nation defense organizations in Jindřichův Hradec and surroundings at the turn of 19th and 20th century. In the first chapters it describes political and social situation during the period of rise of defense organizations (80s of the 19th century), the school laws of the second half of the 19th century and establishment of national defense organizations and their tools of persuasion. Decision point of this work is the establishment of local departments Central School Foundation and National Association Pošumavská in Jindřichův Hradec and their follow-up action until Word War I. The study deals with raising money for departments of both organizations in Hradec (collections and donations) and their following use for support of Czech minority and acquisition of Czech children to Czech schools. It also describes the effort of establishment of Czech minority schools in Jindřichův Hradec and surroundings. Obnova zahrady Bratmannovy vily ve Valašských Kloboukách

The theme of the thesis is a reconstruction of villa garden, which was formed in the late 19th and early 20th century in the Czech lands. In order to obtain knowledge about the form of villa gardens, this thesis focuses on literature review and studies books written by landscape architects of the period. Last but not least, it studies the work of those architects and recent publications of garden architects and architectural historians. Twenty villa gardens were visited to evaluate their status and current use. Four out of nineteen are already reconstructed therefore the approach to villa garden reconstruction will be presented here. Based on all of these studies and an analysis of the Bratmann villa garden in Valašské Klobouky, an architectural study was made. The study reflects possible original form of that garden, design of other reference villa gardens at the time and also current use of Bratmann villa garden.
