Patient quality of life with glaucoma
Hašková, Martina ; Jirkovský, Daniel (advisor) ; Králíčková, Jana (referee)
This thesis deals with the quality of life of patients with glaucoma. Its aim is to introduce professional and general public with difficulties and changes that these patients throughout their lives restricted. The theoretical part briefly defines quality of life describes the basic characteristics of glaucoma. The practical part describes its own investigation, which took place from June to November 2015 in the eye clinic Regional hospital Kladno. A total of 83 patients were enrolled. For data collection method was chosen a questionnaire which included items the standardized questionnaires NEI-VFQ-25 and GQL-15 and items characterizing the respondent. From his own survey shows that in the sample of respondents can be observed significant differences in responses by gender, age, treatment with glaucom disease and the level of the highest educational attainment. The thesis also gives a brief description and results of studies already exist on the same or similar subject.

MUDr. Jiří Pašta, CSc., FEBO Praha, 2019 Abstract: Pars plana vitrectomy is a dominant surgical method in posterior segment surgery of the eye. The principle of this method is the surgical approach via the pars plana anatomical region. With this approach, surgeon performs the posterior segment surgery without directly affecting the anterior segment of the eye. Short-term effect of pars plana vitrectomy on the anterior segment of the eye has been repeatedly proven. That might be an important factor both in assessing the complications of this method and planning the surgery in complicated patients. Generally, it is presumed that we do not observe long-term effects on anterior segment after pars plana vitrectomy. The aim of our work is to evaluate the long-term changes in the anterior segment after the uncomplicated 25G + PPV with gas tamponde. The group of 20 patients was selected according to strict indication criteria. Using a series of examinations, we examined specific parameters such as: intraocular...
Epidemiology and preventive measures in inherited retinal dystrophies in the Czech Republic.
Kousal, Bohdan ; Lišková, Petra (advisor) ; Vlková, Eva (referee) ; Mahelková, Gabriela (referee)
Introduction: Inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) are one of the most common causes of incurable blindness in children and young adults. In the Czech Republic, prior to the start of our work, these disorders had not been the subject of a systematic research. The aim of the study was to identify, clinically characterize and molecular genetically analyse Czech patients with monogenic IRDs and based on the knowledge gained subsequently implement preventive and therapeutic measures to clinical practice. Material and methods: We have performed a comprehensive clinical examination, genealogical analysis and molecular genetic investigation in patients with IRDs and their family members. Detailed ocular examination included spectral domain optical coherence tomography, high-resolution fundus photography and autofluorescence imaging. DNA was isolated from venous blood samples or buccal cells. Causal variants were searched for using Sanger and massively parallel sequencing, and their pathogenicity was evaluated in the context of previously published data, bioinformatical analysis and segregation in available family members. Results: In total, 103 individuals from 76 Czech families diagnosed with IRDs were characterized and their data published. Specifically, we have described clinical and molecular genetic...
Tool for Detection and Correction of Images with Diseased Eye Retinas
Jochlík, Jakub ; Semerád, Lukáš (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
Loss or partial loss of eye sight can have major effect on quality of person's life. One of the most common diseases, which causes loss or partial loss of eye sight are diabetic retinopathy and age releated macular degeneration. Both of these diseases can be prevented or mediated by early detection and proper treatment. The fundus camera, which is used to capture eye retina, has had major effect on increasing quality and speed of early detection. Images captured by fundus camera can be automatically analyzed in order to detect any possible signs of retina damage. This thesis proposes one possible way of automating this process. First part of this thesis describes eye, its diseases and capturing technology. Second part then proposes way of automating detection process and its implementation. Lastly, the results are evaluated.

Deep learning methods for vessel and optic disc segmentation in ophthalmologic sequences
Rozhoňová, Andrea ; Odstrčilík, Jan (referee) ; Hesko, Branislav (advisor)
The aim of the following thesis was to study the issue of optical disc and retinal vessels segmentation in ophthalmologic sequences. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the principles of different approaches in the field of deep learning, which are used in connection with the given issue. Based on the theoretical part, methods for optical disk segmentation and retinal vessel segmentation based on the convolutional neural networks Linknet, PSPNet, Unet and MaskRCNN are proposed. The practical part of the thesis deals with the description of their implementation and subsequent evaluation.
Quality of Eye Operations in Selected Eye Clinics of the Czech Republic
Seifertová, Kristýna ; Lešetický, Ondřej (advisor)
In the present diploma thesis titled Quality of Eye Operations in Selected Eye Clinics of the Czech Republic, the author deals with the issue of the quality of current health care in the field of ophthalmology. The aim of the work is to evaluate the quality of eye surgery in specialized eye clinics using quality indicators through structural, outcomes and design. These criteria include the maturity of the used medical technologies and procedures, medical knowhow, the course of the initial examination, the effects of the health services on the patient's condition and the satisfaction of the patients. Data for research is obtained through a questionnaire survey in the form of open questions. The overall quality level is evaluated according to the specified quality index. In the end, some systemic measures for improving the present quality of ophthalmology are outlined.
