Development of individual language levels in preschool children

The diploma thesis deals with the development of language levels in children aged 5 to 6 years. These are children before starting primary school. At this age, the stage of preschool education and the development associated with it ends. The end of this period is specific in that children are preparing for the start of compulsory schooling. By the end of the preschool period, the child should achieve certain results in the development of language levels. The goal of the practically oriented part of the diploma thesis is to analyze the development of language levels in preschool children. The work is logically divided into two parts. The first of them introduces speech development, defines the pre-school period and delimits language levels on the basis of documents from the specialist literature. These are theoretical knowledge necessary to create a comprehensive picture of the investigated issue. Furthermore, the thesis describes the most frequently occurring types of impaired communication skills typical of this period. Speech therapy in children's homes in Kralovehradecký region

The bachelor thesis is focused on the provision of speech therapy intervention in children's homes in the Královéhradecký region.The bachelor thesis is divided into three chapters, two theoretical and one empirical chapter. In the first chapter of the theoretical part, basic concepts such as speech therapy, communication, speech, language and impaired communication ability are explained. Next, the first chapter is devoted to the development of speech, language and communication within the planes and lastly, it describes children's homes and their functioning, the role of the educator and the child and the communication skills of children from children's homes. The second chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to speech therapy intervention, the definition of the term and its activities, its position within the health and education departments. The empirical part deals with two children's homes from the Královéhradecký region and their provision of speech therapy intervention. Public Awareness of Selective Mutism

This bachelor thesis deals with elective mutism. Attention was paid to the definition, symptomatology and speech therapy intervention of this communication disorder, and above all to the analysis of the level of public awareness of elective mutism. Analyzing the level of public awareness of elective mutism was the main research objective of this paper. The motivation for investigating this issue was the fact that there is currently no research survey in the Czech Republic that would map the public's awareness of elective mutism. However, a higher level of public awareness of this disorder has a positive effect on early diagnosis, and early diagnosis positively affects the success of subsequent therapy. The research was conducted using quantitative research, with a questionnaire used as a research tool. The administration of the questionnaire was carried out online, data collection was completed after obtaining 200 responses. The obtained data were processed in the MS Excel program. Subsequently, two predetermined hypotheses were tested, one of them saying that the level of elective mutism awareness dependents on the field of education of the respondents was confirmed. Perceived quality of life of people with post-stroke communication disorder

The bachelor's thesis, whose main aim of the research is to analyse the subjectively perceived quality of life of people with post-stroke aphasia in selected areas, is divided into four main chapters. The first three chapters present theoretical findings on stroke and post-stroke communication disorders. The following topic is the presentation of the issue of quality of life. The last chapter includes the research as such, which has been focused on retirement-age individuals diagnosed with post-stroke aphasia. The qualitative survey was done using the triangulation method, which contained a questionnaire method supplemented by a semi-structured interview. The obtained data were analysed and subsequently interpreted in the thesis text. Research questions concerning selected areas of quality of life were answered in the following part of the work. The impact of communication disorder on the social relationships of persons with post-stroke aphasia could be considered one of the most problematic areas of quality of life. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of school maturity, the communication level of preschool children and the postponement of school attendance from the point of view of speech therapy and school counseling facilities. The theoretical part contains three chapters devoted to topics necessary for defining the qualification work. The content of the first chapter is an introduction to the theoretical framework of communication and child development from birth to preschool age with a primary focus on speech development. The second chapter defines impaired communication ability from the general basis to the specifics of communication of children in preschool and younger school age. The third chapter analyzes the support of preschool children's communication skills, the area of school readiness with the examination of school maturity in a pedagogical-psychological counseling center and postponement of school attendance. The topic of the thesis Communication disorders of people with Alzhiemer's disease is focused on the analysis of the manifestations of impaired communication ability of people with Alzheimer's disease. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of two chapters. In the firts chapter, entitled Theoretical Background, the term communication is discussed, as well as the concept of dementia. Other subsections discuss cognitive-communication disorders and manifestiations of impaired communication ability of people with dementia. Speech and language process deficits in individual language levels are also listed here. The second chapter deals with neurodegenerative disease. It is followed by a subchapter related to Alzheimer's disease and subsequently clarifies the topic of the burden placed on family caregivers. Communication disorders in relation to school maturity and the child's preparation for first grade

The thesis deals with the topic of communication disorders in relation to school maturity and the child's preparation for first grade. The theoretical part is devoted to the theoretical definition of the issue of school maturity and readiness, with an emphasis on communication skills and the impact of impaired communication skills on first grade education. It also focuses on the possibilities of developing a child's communication skills before entering first grade. One of the chapters focuses on Elkonin's stimulating language skills training program. The practical part of the thesis is conducted by qualitative method of investigation through semi-structured interviews with a clinical speech therapist, a special educator - speech therapist and a speech therapy assistant. The practical part explores the developmental opportunities for the child with impaired communication skills and the benefits of the Elkonin programme for training language skills for impaired communication skills in preparation for the start of compulsory schooling. The thesis The Possibilities of Bibliotherapy in the Development of Communication Skills of Young School-Age Children with Symptomatic Speech Disorder deals with the question whether bibliotherapy can be used in the educational process as one of the methods for developing communication skills. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical one focuses on the characteristics of the younger school age and language development in this period in order to better understand the issue of symptomatic speech disorders. Possible deviations in language development which lead to this impairment of communication ability are explained. The paper also describes brief characteristics of symptomatic speech disorders in children with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment and ADHD. Finally, specific recommendations appropriate when communicating with students suffering from communication disorders are provided. The bachelor's thesis describes the problem of communication disorders that most often occur in children. It deals with speech development and speech disorders on a broader scale. The bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part draws from the literature on the subject. First, the thesis focuses on speech ontogeny and the stages of speech development. The second part focuses on the general issue of speech therapy. Finally, the different types of speech disorders are discussed. The practical part takes the form of a questionnaire survey in which experiences with speech therapy and speech disorders among primary school pupils in Pribram are examined.
