From the obtained data, I used quantitative content analysis to determine the frequency of the examined media texts, the area of work they related to, the presence of the journalist's own opinion or evaluation (or the attitude of the editor) and the way in which the work of this well-known artist is viewed. Using qualitative method, I gained information about opinions on the personality of Zdeněk Svěrák and his work from the point of view of the researched media servers, as well as readers and audiences of film and artistic theatrical productions. In the last part, I deal with the qualitative analysis of the interviews with Zdeněk Svěrák, including my own, and for comparison, I find out how this multifaceted artist...
Media response to the end of Maya calendar as the end of the world in 2012
Skřivánková, Adéla ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
The diploma thesis aims to find out what was the media image of the end of the Mayan calendar as the supposed end of the world in 2012. A a number of theories, reflections and predictions were made about what would probably happen on December 21, 2012. The apocalyptic predictions of the end of the world appeared most often. Probably due to deeper ignorance of the theme and attractiveness of catastrophic scenarios, the end of the Mayan calendar has become a widespread phenomenon that resonated across society and has become a frequent subject of media stories. The analysis of media content investigated the extent to which the 2012 phenomenon of the selected media was really devoted, what kind of approach to the topic the media took and whether it encouraged fear or uncertainty in society. The thesis provides a sufficient theoretical basis and historical context that the subsequent analysis can then rely on.

The bachelor thesis Karel Kryl and media reception of his work aims to map the response to music creation and partly also to the poetry of Karel Kryl in contemporary journals. Besides the chapter containing media response, there is a part describing biography and creative production of Karel Kryl as well as the chapter that aims to cover the interpretation of the artworks. The results of this thesis were achieved by the qualitative analysis of media reception alike as other publications. Time frame of media response is copying the period of Kryl's artistic production - which means the period from 60's to his death in 1994.

Ota Pavel's Fictionalized Reportages from Sports Environment
Linhart, Jiří ; Čeňková, Jana (advisor) ; Hájek, Roman (referee)
In this thesis I work with four books by Ota Pavel. These are following titles, in chronological order according to a date of publication: Dukla mezi mrakodrapy (Dukla between Skyscrapers), Plná bedna šampaňského (A Carton Full of Champagne), Syn celerového krále (The Celery King's Son) and Pohádka o Raškovi (The Fairy Tale about Raška). Their common characteristic is that - according to a classification of The Institute of Czech Literature - they all represent Pavel's journalistic sports books. I inspect them from two points of view. The first one is the content itself: there at first I analyse Pavel's attitude to a narration and then a character of the text in terms of language, which includes, among others, elements of journalistic and artistic style and stylistic devices. The second view of Pavel's sport reportages issue are their historical and later media response (reviews, studies...). Those will complete a picture of analysed material and serve as an factor to compare gained results with reactions of the expert and media public. My aim is to sum up findings of the narrative and language analyses in the first part and assess the outputs of comparative analysis in the part two.
