Title: Therapy of spasticity with botulinum toxin and assessment of the effect by Tardieu Scale Abstract: This paper discusses paralysing effect of botulinum toxin which is used to treat spastic muscles in contemporary medicine. The paper focuses on spasticity in patients with disorder of the central nervous system caused most commonly by stroke. At first it deals with theoretical knowledge about physiology of movement, then describes active ingredient and explains the mechanism of its effect. It dedicates a lot of attention to follow-up rehabilitation as an integral part in the management of spasticity. This paper is based on two case histories. A practical part describes in detail patient's condition before and after application of botulinum toxin. A progress of the effect was assessed during periodic meetings. These instruments were used to assess: Tardieu Scale of spasticity and Frenchay arm test. In connection with the application of botulinum toxin is emphasized active co-operation of the patient. It is an essential precondition for positive results in the management of spasticity. Ivana Vondráková Number of pages: 142 Number of attachments: 8 Year defense: 2014 Keywords: kinesiotherapy, fracture, radial bone, treatment, complications In the theoretical part of this thesis is processed anatomy of distalis part of radial bone, kinesiology of the wrist, traumatology, methods of diagnosis and treatment of fracture distal part of radial bone and complitcations. The last part includes physiotherapeutic methods and possibility of physical therapy which can be used in therapy. The practical part includes a case study of two pacients with fracture of distal part of radial bone who attended the outpatient rehabilitation. Both pacients were treated conservative. Input and output kinesiology examination short - term and long - term treatment plan is created for each patient, the course of their treatment is noted and the success of therapy is evaluated.
Execise Therapy in Female Adolescents Hospitalised with Anorexia Nervosa
Ulrichová, Michaela ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Krch, František (referee) ; Papežová, Hana (referee)
Objective: Body image disturbance is one of the main characteristics of anorexia nervosa (AN). It is present in different stages of the disease, often persisting even after the end of the treatment, and is one of the predictors of a relaps. Body image is composed of two main components - the perceptual component, and the attitudinal component. Anorexia nervosa patients show a disturbed attitudinal component of the body image. The perceptual component disruption hasn't been completely proven yet. Many authors do, however, warn about the overestimation of bodily proportions of patients with AN and it's possible relation with characteristics such as BMI. Goals: The main goal of the dissertation thesis was the objectivization of the body image disturbance of the patients hospitalized with anorexia nervosa, the comparison of their results with a group of healthy girls of the same age, and the search for factors connected to the defect of the body image. A side goal of the dissertation thesis was the measurement of the effect of kinesiotherapy on the anxiety level of AN patients. Methods: As a part of the practical section, the measurements of 27 hospitalized patients and 20 healthy girls were completed. Probands underwent body size estimation of 4 bodily segments. They estimated the length of their arm,...

Title: Kinesiotherapy in the treatment of patients with eating disorders Summary: The aim of our experiment was evaluate the effect of kineziotherapy (psychomotor therapy) on body image in the treatemnet of the patiens with eating disorders in The Department of Psychiatry on General University Hospital in Prague. The study included 10 women divided into two groups according to the psychiatrist`s diagnosis of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. The effectiveness of kinesiotherapy was also evaluated about the type of treatment - inpatient of the department for eating disorders and outpatient of the day care institution for eating disorders. We used a validated questionnaire Body Attitude Test (BAT) which is used for negative evaluation of body size, lack of familiarity with one`s own body and general body dissatisfaction. Then we used Test of silhouette according to Stunkard and Test for the evaluation of sensory stimuli according to Petrie. Due to the small sample size, we supplemented the quantitative part with the qualitative interview with open questions. It allowed us to understand the interaction of individuals with their own body. Keywords: anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, kinesiotherapy, psychomotor therapy, body image, Body Attitude Test, Petrie`s test, Stunkard`s test of silhouette, structured...

Adamíková, Žaneta ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Janečková, Alexandra (referee)
This thesis is a discussion of the possibilities of using movement therapy as a complementary method within the context of medium-term or long-term institutional treatment of addictions. It is divided into 3 parts. The objective of the first part is to describe the basic concepts and to disseminate the information regarding addiction consequences and its causes. It also includes epidemiological data, a deconstruction of the system of medical care, and the basic tools used in the substance abuse treatment. Complementary to this, special parts map the possibilities of the use of physical activity involving body-oriented methods. It's objective is to detail the effects of these methods on patients. The positive effects highlighted by my thesis are the reason why the movement interventions should be used as a part of the complex treatment. In the second part, common illnesses that lie among addicted people are further examined, mapping the treatment of these diseases through the use of physical therapy. The practical, third part involves the qualitative data and contains the case report of a patient who is dependent on several addictive substances and is currently undergoing the treatment in a psychiatric hospital. Her medical and drug history, individual therapy, including kinesiological analysis,...
