The aim of this Master Thesis is to provide the reader with an annotated literary translation of the book Palabras Envenenadas written by the Spanish author Maite Carranza. The first part of the thesis presents in total of 6 translated chapters of the novella Palabras Envenenadas. The second part focuses on presenting the information about the author and the style of the book as well as the role of the original and the translatated text in the source and target culture context, the development of the translation analysis and translation methods while discussing the translation problems and their solutions. Intertextuality in Advertising

This bachelor thesis examines the intertextuality in advertising. The theoretical part first of all defines the basic concepts, such as advertising, intertextuality and its types or transtextuality, and in addition includes selected approaches to intertextuality in advertising and their subsequent comparison. The practical part contains a design of an information system for working with a corpus and the introduction of the corpus itself, accompanied by comments and evaluation. The final section consists of an analysis of the corpus, which leads to the formulation of conclusions about how the source texts are modified and adapted. This thesis aims to: 1) find out how frequent is the advertisement based on the principle of intertextuality, 2) ascertain what means of intertextuality are the most utilized in advertising texts, 3) determine what type of source text is the most frequently referred, 4) design an appropriate information system to store, search easily and comment on the collected material.

The aim of this Master Thesis is to present an annotated literary translation of two chapters of the novella Vstrecha from Maxim Osipov's book, Grech zhalovatsya. The first part of this Master Thesis contains a translation of selected chapters from the novella Vstrecha. The second part, a commentary on the translation, includes information about the author and his work, style classification, the role of translation, vocabulary, intertextuality, characterization of translation methods, strategy of solving translation problems and typology of translation shifts.

Intertextuality in the Genre of Newspaper Commentary

My bachelor thesis deals with Intertextuality in the genre of newspaper commentary. The theoretical part describes the concept of Intertextuality in various Czech language guides and its interpretation. Further I clarify the genre of analytical style of journalism - the commentary - its basic features and distinctive position in journalistic style. Material for the practical part I excerpted from the daily press in its electronic form, in the period from August 2012 to March 2014. Specifically, I focused on the daily Mladá fronta Dnes and Lidové noviny. An analysis of the material revealed that the authors of very frequent use of intertextuality apply their general knowledge, give this genre a strong distinctive character, expressing a subjective evaluation and gaining the attention of the recipient. Intertextual links in comments across all topics usually appear already in the headline of comments. The most common forms are allusions, quotations or paraphrases. Serves as a source pretext original literary, film, music, as well as sayings and proverbs or biblical references.

Receptive and intertextual strategies in Terry Pratchett's novel cykle "Discworld"

This thesis is focused on The Discworld, book series written by English writer Terry Pratchett. It examines which tools the author is using for achieving such a readability and catchines of his novels. Investigations are done in several layers: characters, word of the story, themes and motives. Intertextuality is the next topic of the work. It is mainly focused on intertextuality regarding the readers. Other interest of this thesis is to clarify position of the Discworld among fantasy pieces as it is usually classified as fantasy. Finally, it shows quality of Pratchett's series and it argues with the statement that his work is popular mainstream literature.

The beginnings of intertextuality - breaking the boundaries of the boundlessness

1 Abstract The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of intertextuality as the change of view of text and opening his imaginary boundaries, especially in the context of establishing this concept. The first part describes Bakhtin's concept of the polyphony and the dialogism understood as the initial impulse from which intertextuality subsequently develops. The second part deals with the development of intertextuality by Julia Kristeva and its subsequent extension to society-wide cultural space. Third part is an overview of subsequently established conceptions. Based on the foregoing the idea of text which appears as a central and crucial for intertextuality itself is then in the final section revised in relation to particular conceptions of intertextuality. Intertextual Relations in The Engineer of Human Souls

The bachelor thesis is based on the analysis of the role writers' images and particular fragments of English and American writers (Poe, Hawthorne, Twaine, Crane, Fitzgerald, Conrad, Lovecraft) have in the novel The Engineer of Human Souls by Josef Skvorecky. This relationship is to be interpreted according to the theory of intertextuality with a goal to analyse a value that these intertextual connections have in the Skvorecky novel. The thesis aims at some of the basic themes in The Engineer of Human Souls with a connection to the English and American writers. The thesis also references to the works of Premysl Blazicek. These references should discuss cognitive functions of a work of art.

Language and style of the plays written for Jára Cimrman Theatre This magister thesis deals with language analysis of the stage plays of Jára Cimrman Theatre. The opening chapter describes general information about the theatre and it's authors as well. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part is based on results of theoretical studies of different authors, especially Bohuslav Brouk, Henri Bergson, Ladislav Dvorský and Vladimír Borecký. The practical part contains the detailed language analysis of all 15 stage plays. This diploma work analyzes which types of language comic we can find there and how much are they extended. Linguistic performances are separated on the principle of linguistics on individual linguistic branches. This diploma work also discusses mystification as a common framework for realization of all comic means.
