Application of system theory on webdesign process
Pařízek, Jan ; Čermák, Radim (advisor) ; Smutný, Zdeněk (referee)
This diploma thesis applies the principles of systemic thinking to the current web design process. It focuses on dealing with the issues related to conflicts and diversity of opinions among individual members of the team working on web design. In the theoretical part, this thesis deals with topic areas and activities relevant for modern approach to web design and the overall role of the user during the design process. In the practical part, the team responsible for web design is viewed as a soft complex system, to which Checklands soft system methodology is applied as a problem-solving tool.
Information model implementation in systems architecture
Pořádek, Jiří ; Říhová, Zora (advisor) ; Tumová, Jindra (referee)
This thesis deals with a field of information modeling and its relation to systems architecture. It is divided into two notional parts -- theoretical (first and second chapter) and practical (third and fourth chapter). First chapter explains the meaning of the term 'information model', compares it to the term 'data model' and then introduce its practical use in an enterprise modeling. It also defines the term of 'systems architecture' in its broad meaning and reduces it to three narrow meaning -- enterprise architecture, information architecture and information systems architecture, while it explains their relation to the information modeling. Finally this chapter provides the base for information model implementation methodology created later in the practical part of this thesis. Second chapter introduces architecture framework called TM Forum Frameworx specialized for a telecommunication services provider. It consists of three standards for business process, information and application architecture. The second one defines specific information model which is described partly in the second chapter and partly in the appendix B of this thesis. Third chapter describes the first of two contributions of this thesis - the information model implementation methodology. This methodology is applicable to any implementation of an information model. Three sections of this chapter contains diagrams and description of three phases of the methodology - pre-implementation phase, implementation phase and post-implementation phase. In the end of the chapter there is a table containing outputs of every single activity performed during all the phases. Fourth and last chapter then describes and evaluates real implementation of the information model from TM Forum Frameworx in the systems architecture department of an enterprise providing telecommunication services. This implementation based on the created methodology and its successful results then became the second contribution of this thesis.
Analysis of the Websites of Selected Faculties in the Czech Republic
Moravec, Tadeáš ; Přibil, Jiří (advisor) ; Mlynářová, Tereza (referee)
The topic of this thesis is to analyze the websites of selected faculties in the Czech Republic. There are mainly defined general, legal and theoretical elements and methods of websites and the possibility of further examination and analysis in the extensive theoretical parts The practical part evaluates data outputs based on the analysis of individual pages as well as consultation with an expert in the field. The work is based on current trends, production sites and their contemporary design. The first chapter discusses the criterion and selected methods. The next chapter describes the usability and actual testing of university websites. In conclusion, there is a summary of literature and it is stated relative positions of the university websites and design modifications that can be done on websites of the University of Economics in Prague.
State of methods utilization of building an information architecture in Czech republic
Kolář, Petr ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Kafka, Daniel (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to determine the degree of utilization methods of building information architecture by internet solution suppliers in Czech republic and the reasons why they use them. For desired objective achieving the questionnaire survey was used. The knowledge gained from literature and other materials made possible to define the concept of internet solution and identify the types that serves as the basis for the selection of suppliers who are by the questionnaire addressed. The term information architecture was defined, its basic elements and the process of building. Within of this process are identified and described methods of building information architecture. From these methods that are based on literature are chosen the methods that enter to the questionnaire. The benefit of this thesis is to map and description of methods of building the information architecture, the description of state of utilization of these methods by internet solutions suppliers in the Czech Republic.
Methodology of building authoritative content website
Totzauer, Tomáš ; Molnár, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Gála, Libor (referee)
The main subject of this work is to design methodology of building an authoritative content website. The first part examines the current status of methodologies for web application development and software in general. Further the Lean Startup methodology for creating business plan is analyzed. The next chapters are dedicated to own methodology that covers all the steps of creating a website. From the very idea, moving towards the creation of the business model, defining the theme of the website, determining of target groups, methods of monetization, competition and competitive advantages. Continuing with information architecture design using the keyword classification analysis and multidimensional view of data, which are search queries. For the entire web development offers an analysis of languages and tools. During the subsequent working of the web online, methodology explores the possibilities of online traffic monetization. In the practical part the methodology is verified by using the defined metrics using the example of an international website draft in English on the topic of recipes for cooking. The outcome of this work is the proposed methodology for authoritative content website and design of website unirecipes.com.
Creating a user-friendly website (UX)
Knopp, Filip ; Borovcová, Anna (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the process of creating user-friendly websites. Thesis is not directly engaged with questions concerning the technology behind it, but instead focuses on the process of designing a website that will meet both the needs of users as well as business requirements. A website based and designed on such concept will be easily understandable for users, and will be regarded as usable and useful. It will effectively enable users to fulfill their individual aims and provide them with a positive User Experience (UX). Along with the placing of this procedure within a specific context, an area of User Experience is defined, and consequently related disciplines that fundamentally affect and shape the UX. A scheme of this procedure of creating user-friendly websites as put in practice is shown at the end of this thesis: a case study on redesigning the company website VINICARS Ltd.
Economics focused universities' web pages analysis
Zeckarias, Simon ; Toman, Prokop (advisor) ; Sigmund, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis is focused on analysis of web pages of chosen universities. In the first part theoretical aspects about communication, web pages, their history and technical specification are characterized. Characteristics of communication through web is described. Features of current situation and future development are also covered. In the next part the aspects such as information architecture, availability and design are described in more detail. The following part deals with availability testing. The next chapter defines selection criteria. Three universities were chosen, introduced and analysed according to previously defined criteria. The end part of the paper provides the summary and conlusion about web pages analysis and proposal for possible modifications of the web pages of the University of economics in Prague.
Using Darwin Information Typing Architecture in ECM solution
Kovář, Martin ; Kunstová, Renáta (advisor) ; Šoule, Marek (referee)
This paper focuses on the principles of Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) standard for storing structured content. Aim of the theses is to generally describe the possibilities of its integration into the ECM solution and, based on this knowledge, to design an appropriate procedure establishing DITA technology into the company's enterprise content management solution according to its specified requirements. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the concept of information architecture DITA, assumptions for its usage and the basic principles for creating DITA documents. DITA technology is compared to its alternatives and its future development is estimated. It discusses the general principles of DITA integration to ECM solutions. In the practical part, there is designed a suitable demonstration solution implementing DITA technology into the enterprise content management system based on a company's specified requirements. Under the proposal are compared tools for creating and editing documents and on the basis of the criteria is one of them appropriately chosen. The phases are further developed, thus forming a coherent view on the practical implementation of DITA. General conclusions and recommendations for companies that would be interested in establishing a standard DITA into their content management solutions are drawn in the final chapter.
