Nanoparticles preparation by green synthesis
Kortusová, Dominika ; Valušová,, Eva (referee) ; Šimšíková, Michaela (advisor)
This thesis deals with green synthesis of noble metals nanoparticles. The first part contains secondary literature research which maps both the traditional and newly developed techniques of nanoparticles preparation. Most attention is given to the various types of green synthesis, which constitute an environmentally friendly alternative to industrially applied methods. The second part deals with the preparation of noble metal nanoparticles using tea broths. The section describes the entire synthesis process and includes photographic documentation. A total of eight colloidal solutions were prepared, four of each metal. The nanoparticles were subsequently analyzed using UV-vis spectroscopy. A time-lapse spectroscopic description of each synthesis was also undertaken. Furthermore, the size distribution of the particles by volume was measured and compared with the pictures obtained by scanning electron microscopy. The results have showed that tea broths, especially those from black tea and rooibos, are suitable for the biosynthesis of stable noble metal nanoparticles.
Synthesis of colloidal gold nanorods for biomedical applications
Semiconductor nanowire growth modelling
Kovács, Roland ; Bartošík, Miroslav (referee) ; Kolíbal, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with modelling of semiconductor nanowires growth. The work describes the mechanism of growth using the VLS method. The main objective is to simulate the distribution of eutectic material in a droplet in the initial stage of growth. Mathematical models describing different situations of material diffusion in the droplet were depeloped. The simulation model is programmed in MATLAB.
Generation of metallic nanoparticles by non-thermal plasma in liquids
Čechová, Ludmila ; Blahová, Lucie (referee) ; Kozáková, Zdenka (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the process of nanoparticle generation using new source of nonthermal plasma combining corona and pin-hole discharge in liquids. The theoretical part is focused on generation of metallic nanoparticles using various types of plasma discharge, the properties of metallic nanoparticles, their preparation by other methods and methods of characterization of nanoparticles. The experimental part deals with the preparation of copper, silver and gold nanoparticles from solutions of their precursors. The influence of experimental conditions, such as the influence of voltage polarity, effect of precursor concentration, effect of added electrolyte or reducing agent were investigated. All samples were analyzed by UV-VIS spectroscopy. Dynamic light scattering was used to determine the sice of nanoparticles. To confirm the presence of nanoparticles, samples were analyzed using scanning microscope with and energy dispersion spectrometer for elemental analysis.

The Use of Means of Artificial Intelligence for the Decision Making Support on Financial Markets
Turoň, Michal ; Galvánek, Juraj (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis deals with issue of trade on commodity market, especially the gold. It uses the artificial intelligence resources, more accurate non-linear auregressive neural network. The purpose is the prediction of the gold prices by indicators which has impact on the gold.
Investing in Commodities through Futures Contracts
Králík, Patrik ; Bílek, Michael (referee) ; Rejnuš, Oldřich (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the analysis and comparison of selected commodities in order to create an investment recommendation to diversify the hedge fund's equity portfolio. The theoretical part deals with issues related to the investment portfolio, commodities, trading through futures contracts and explains the applied analytical methods. In the practical part, commodities are first selected, which are then analyzed by selected methods and finally compared by a comparative method. The last part of the work contains, based on the results, a proposal to expand the investment portfolio and the process of making investments through commodity futures contracts.
Electron tweezer
Investment Recommendation for a Fund of Qualified Investors in the Field of Investments in Precious Metals.
Rozsypal, Tomáš ; Brauner, Roman (referee) ; Rejnuš, Oldřich (advisor)
Precious metal - gold, is perceived as a safety and is used to secure investment at the time of nervousness in the global market. However, the only small part is usually inset into world funds. Qualified (hedge) funds can be managed completely differently. Diploma thesis solves which way and how the qualified investor funds can include the gold into portfolio. The work takes all instruments on gold suitable for investing and analyzes their basic characteristics and differences.
Surface modification by nano-droplets controlled by electron tweezers
Dao, Radek ; Šik, Ondřej (referee) ; Bábor, Petr (advisor)
This master's thesis is focused on the study of the consequences of electron beam induced motion of Au-Ge alloy nanodroplets on germanium surface. The text consists of two parts. The theoretical part gives an overview of measurement and fabrication techniques used for the experiments. The description of these techniques is mainly focused on topics needed to understand the ideas behind the experiments and their results. The topics covered here are the Atomic Force Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Electron Beam Lithography. These are followed by an introduction to the gold-germanium material system and the movement of Au-Ge alloy nanodroplets. The practical part gives a roughly chronological guide throughout the whole experimental process, including the search for a suitable sample fabrication method, the surface modification itself and its measurement. Temperature calibration of the heating system is also mentioned.
