A Proposal of a Corporate Financial Plan

This diploma thesis deals with creation of financial plan for company IMI International, Ltd. The theoretical part defines basic concept of financial analysis and financial plan and their methods of processing. The practical part evaluates financial situation of company with usage of selected methods from financial analysis and accounting data from the years 2010 – 2015. Based on the information from financial analysis is prepared financial plan for next period 2016 - 2020.

The thesis is focused on evaluating the performance of company with using selected indicators of financial analysis. The first part introduce the company ANA-AQUALINE Ltd. over the period 2007-2009. In the second part is explained the financial analysis from a theoretical point of view and in the next part is implemented theory in practice. The last part describes the proposal of investment, which should help improve the economic and financial situation.

This master's thesis is dealing with alternate form of financing – factoring and its benefits for the company. Theoretic part explains the basics of factoring, its types, advantages and disadvantages. Practical part displays the influence of factoring by help of financial analysis on specific company – how factoring helped to improve financial situation. Next the costs of factoring are compared with bank overdraft. At the end of thesis is defined recommendation to continue with factoring.

Significance of different financial ratios in predicting stock returns: NYSE - cross-industry analysis

The goal of this research is to investigate the power of following seven variables to predict stock returns on the New York Stock Exchange: price to earnings ratio (P/E), dividend yield (DY), debt to equity ratio (D/E), book to market ratio (B/M), return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE) and market capitaliza- tion (MC). Companies selected for the analysis are divided into five industries (airlines, computers and software, financial services, food and beverages, energy) which enables to observe the difference between the sectors as far as the statistical significance of regressors is concerned. The ability of six financial ratios and MC to forecast stock returns is examined between February 2010 and February 2020, whereas three investment horizons are considered: three months, one year, three years. Panel data regression models reveal different significant variables for each industry and show that the strength of the relationship between these regressors and expected stock returns increases with a longer investment horizon.
