Justice or Retribution? Expulsion of Germans after the Second World War. Partisan People's Court in Lanškroun.

This bachelor thesis focuses one of the marginalized chapters of Czech modern history, the functioning of people's courts and expulsions. It is a qualitative study using both analytical and statistical methods. This works benefits from using both primary and secondary sources. Its aim is to create a plastic picture of what happened on the main square in Lanškroun in May 1945. This work follows a research of immediate post war period. In few months (not just in Czechoslovakia) took place changes which irreversibly changed a society structure. Migration waves, the largest in the modern Czechoslovak history, affected economic, political, cultural and interpersonal relations, and thus the overall character of society. Initial euphoria over again liberation changed quickly to commonly manifestation hate against Germans, collectively responsible perpetrators of war crimes. Before official government organized expulsions, there has been a wild expulsions, escapes and people's court. Also by the influx of inland Czechs to border areas there has been created till that time nonexistent reality, culturally and ethnically unified border region which influenced internal state organization and also significantly influenced Czech-German (and Czech-Austrian) relations. Changes in religious landscape after 1945: The case study of towns in Šumpersko region

The content of this thesis is research and comparison of religious landscapes of two villiges in Šumpersko region Velké Losiny, which was before 1945 inhabited mainly by Germans, and Bludov, which was inhabited by Czechs. The aim is to observe the differences in religious landscapes and influence of the nationality composition of the villiges before 1945 on it. The theoretical basis of the thesis is within religious geography and historical geography. It mentions topics as religious landscape, sacralisation, changes of the religious landscape during history and the influence of the expulsion of Germans from Czech borderland on this changes. The second part of the work is focused on the development of religiosity and the religious landscape in model areas. It describes number and type of sacral objects and whether the object was build before or after 1945 and if it was reconstructed after 1945. Restoration of Ecclesiastical Buildings in Sudetenland after 1989. The Area of Lusatian Mountains.

This thesis analyses the restoration of ecclesiastical buildings in the area of the Lusatian Mountains after 1989. It describes the emergence of the term Sudetenland and the relationship between Czechs and Germans from the outset of coexistence to the expulsion after the World War II. The main attention is paid to the architecture and renovations of catholic churches, whose condition deteriorated in the communist era. Damaged and blasted churches are also mentioned. The information on financing is presented where available.
Edvard Benes's concept of socializing (humane) democracy

The bachelor thesis focuses on the theoretic concept of socializing (humane) democracy made up by chairman Edvard Beneš in London during the Second World War. I want to analyse and explain this concept in the first part of the thesis. The other parts of the thesis concentrate on particular themes which was influenced by Benes's activity and concide with the time of creation of the concept. The particular themes are Benes's relationship to Soviet Union, expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia and negotiations about first government after the second world war. Both theoretic and practical view are considered. The main task of the bachelor thesis is to give answer, whether the concept was purposeful and whether the realization of this concept was possible.
