Toxicology of opioid analgesics and their impact on traffic accidents in the Moravian-Silesian Region
DOBIÁŠOVÁ, Marcela
The bachelor thesis is devoted to the issue of the use of opioid analgesics, their effect on traffic accidents and accidents caused under the influence. Opioid analgesics, which belong to the group of narcotic and psychotropic substances, are still a topical topic, as a large number of traffic accidents are caused by drivers who are under their influence. The theoretical part is devoted mainly to history, classification of opioid analgesics, distribution of narcotic and psychotropic substances, list of drugs containing narcotic and psychotropic substances in the Czech Republic, occurrence of side effects, addictions, route of administration, detection of addictive substances in the body, but also drug policy strategy in Moravian-Silesian Region, the Czech Republic and the European Union. The practical part is focused on the comparison of traffic accidents caused under the influence of opioid analgesics in the years 2014-2018 in the Moravian-Silesian Region. In the practical part, I processed the results based on the statistics of the Police of the Czech Republic. After evaluating the results, it was found that in the period 2014-2018, the number of traffic accidents under the influence of opioid analgesics increased in the Moravian-Silesian Region, but there was a decrease in traffic accidents caused under the influence of alcohol. At the same time, there was a reduction in the number of people who were slightly injured, severely injured and killed. The result also showed that the most accidents that were caused in the period under the influence of addictive substances were in the South Moravian Region.

It is also focused on Tábor's drug scene. The practical part involves a qualitative research of six dialogues with respondents living in Tábor. They have been or are drug addicts or drug addiction has somehow affected their lives. The aim of the exploratory part is to find out what life with drug addiction is like and what reasons lead to it and whether drug addicts have common features and personal qualities.
Life on Subutex
LEDINSKÁ, Hana
The Diploma Thesis deals with the Subutex addiction and its effects on the lives of the Subutex users. The main goal of the thesis is to find out how Subutex affects everyday lives of its users from social, health and also other perspectives. There are two main research questions. Firstly, the question is what poses a main problem for the Subutex users in connection with their addiction and secondly, what limitations they face when it comes to their everyday lives. The theoretical part of the thesis includes definition of addiction, describes its phases, causes and other factors connected with it. Further, there is a short overview of currently most commonly used drugs including Subutex. The chapter "Effects of drug addiction" sums up the most common direct effects of drug addiction on social and health wellbeing of the users. The following chapter talks about social work and the importance of case management when dealing with drug addicts, and also the importance of coordination of all phases of rehabilitation. The final pages of the theoretical part mention different ways and kinds of treatments of drug addiction, mainly the substitution treatment. The empirical part of the thesis is focused on research, research questions, methods, and of course, its results. The research was based on semi-structured interviews with 10 interviewees, whose background is also described in more detail. All of the interviewees are clients of "Kontaktní centrum Písek" and all of them are active users of Subutex. The ways of how they get the substance were not considered as a limitation in the research. The results of the research led to several conclusions. Firstly, the main problem the Subutex users have to face is the low living standard as a result of their low economic status and the high price of Subutex. The users also often face comorbidity and their health is rather poor. They most often suffer from hepatitis C gained through needle usage. Further, the interviewees mention negative effects of Subutex usage on their social life and relationships, and also social stigmatisation leading often to social exclusion and worsened mental health. All these aspects negatively impact the quality of life of the Subutex users and hinder their better integration back into society. The thesis as well as its results can be beneficial as a complementary study material or as a source of information for novice workers at social services focusing on drug addiction.
Medical Herbs in the Czech Republic and their Use Depending on the Contained Active Substances
Casková, Petra ; Soldán, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Říhová, Dagmar (referee)
This thesis is focused on the use of medicinal herbs from the ancient past, starting with the world's earliest history of medicine, through the earliest evidence of the cultivation and use of medicinal herbs in the Czech lands, to their importance in contemporary pharmacology. The main aim is to create a concise, comprehensive overview of the methods of obtaining medicinal plants, including their collection and cultivation, their processing and subsequent possibilities of use. This thesis also includes ways of protecting plant species on the basis of regulations and laws within the European Union and in the Czech Republic. It also introduces individual species of the most commonly cultivated or collected medicinal plants and contains data on production, export and import within the Czech Republic. A list of substances contained in the drug and their effects on the human organism is also included in this thesis. In the next section, the most used medicinal herbs in the Czech Republic are listed, sorted accoding to their effects. The appendix contains a glossary of the most frequently used technical terms related to this subject. The second part of the appendix contains 33 photographs of selected medicinal plants mentioned in this thesis. The conclusion is dedicated to a summary of current trends in...
Criminological Aspects of the Drug-related Crime
Novák, Radek ; Vokoun, Rudolf (advisor) ; Gřivna, Tomáš (referee)
1 Abstract The thesis is aimed at criminological aspects of drug-related crime. Author has chosen: development and the significant causes of drug-related crime, characteristics of the offenders and crime kontrol as specific aspects to deal with. A special chapter is focused on one specific type of drug - methamphetamin (pervitin). First chapter is introductory and defines basic terminology used in the thesis. Second chapter is focused on develompent of drug-related crime. It specifies the main causes of the crime increase and development of an open drug market. It also contains a statistical analysis and trends. The third chapter deals with drug crime offenders. Author tries to select different points of view to find some typical characteristics of them. He also tries to find some trends (using published criminal career researches) that make them different from other kinds of criminals. The fourth chapter is focused on the actual problems connected with methamphetamin (pervitin). Author explains the main causes that make the Czech republic number one producer of this drug in Europe. He sees a lasting availability of the key precursor - pseudoephedrine as a crucial factor. Together with that author emphasizes a hypothesis that most of the pharmaceutical products (with pseudoephedrine) sold in our country...

Determination of Lipophilicity of Drugs by HPLC
Pleváková, Magdaléna ; Kubíček, Vladimír (advisor) ; Nováková, Veronika (referee)
3 ABSTRACT Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of biophysics and physical chemistry Author: Magdaléna Pleváková Supervisor: Ing. Vladimír Kubíček, CSc. Thesis title: Determination of Lipophilicity of Drugs by HPLC In this thesis a RP-HPLC method for fast and reliable determination of lipophilicity was proposed and tested. Stationary phase was selected by using hydrophobic substraction model. Capacity factors of the chosen substances were initially measured on Zorbax ECLIPSE XDB C18 250x4,6 mm, 5µm column, which exhibits almost identical retention characteristics as the column used for this purpose until now. Then the capacity factors of the same substances were determined by using Zorbax ECLIPSE XDB-C18 50x4,6 mm, 1,8µm column that was selected to reduce retention times significantly. A group of newly synthesised drugs based on structure of pyrazine served as samples for the measurement. The reproducibility of the capacity factor values determined using both columns was compared and the independence of the capacity factor on the mobile phase flow was confirmed. The capacity factors of two homologous series and a group of benzimidazols were consequently determined on Zorbax ECLIPSE XDB-C18 50x4,6 mm, 1,8µm column using various compositions of mobile phases. Several...
