Bonds and their types

Bonds are a type of debt securities, which are regulated by the Act on Bonds (the Act No. 190/2004 Coll., as amended). In the Czech Republic, bonds are used to finance especially the government is especially financed through bond issuing. Despite bonds are not widespread across private companies or territorial self-governing units at the moment, in the future they might play a bigger role and become a competitor to the traditional ways of financing (e.g. bank loans) thanks to their advantages. The purpose of this master's thesis is to introduce the legal regulation of bonds, to distinguish bonds from different ways of financing, including description of their advantages and disadvantages, to analyze particular requirements of bonds, to describe the process of bonds issuing and finally to divide bonds into categories according to various standpoints. The thesis is composed of five chapters. The first chapter focuses on the formal sources of Czech and European bond law and on the concept of a bond, including its characteristic features. The second chapter concerns with the comparison of bonds to other ways of financing. For purposes of this thesis a company was chosen as a role issuer for the comparison. Default Risk of Greek Government During the Crisis of 2010

Many people have already questioned whether Greece would default: investors, economists, politicians and general public. The Greek debt crisis has also caused a great turmoil in the EU causing fears of its spreading to other countries with poor fiscal situation in Eurozone through bond markets. Finally the rescue package was prepared for Greece consisting of EUR 110 billion loan facility from both Eurozone and IMF. We study the Greek fiscal crisis in the thesis. We try to find its real causes in the historical chapter and we also show the methodology which can be used to assess the credit risk of Greek government using bond market information and CDS contracts information. In the empirical part we study the evolution of the probability of default of Greek government during the debt crisis using parsimonious model based on the bond market information.
Corporate Bonds as a Source of Financing for Development Projects

This dissertation discusses external financing for a corporate development project using bonds. It summarises key characteristics of bonds and outlines their emission. It also contributes to the organisation's board of directors' by providing a strategy for its development project in the property market.

The three spokes rule poses a diversified investment and divides it into three sec-tors: real assets, real estate and products of financial market. The issue of holding property with relation to economic cycles is composed from the perspective of a do-mestic investor. In this thesis, there are four models. Each of them is composed of different proportion of assets. The examples are described in horizons of 5, 10 and 15 years. The resulting comparison is made by Sharpe ratio. The results of this bach-elor thesis recommend, how to choose the structure of portfolio of Czech investor for a timeline.
Longer-term Yield Decomposition: an analysis of the Czech Government Yield Curve

The term structure of yields is an important source of information on market expectations about future macroeconomic developments and investors’ risk perceptions and preferences. This paper presents the methodology used by the Czech National Bank to obtain such information. It describes the decomposition of the Czech government bond yield curve into its components. The evolution of those components is interpreted in relation to the macro-financial environment, as embodied by selected variables. The practical use of the decomposition in estimating and interpreting the responses of the Czech government bond yield curve to macroeconomic and financial shocks is presented using a vector autoregression model.

Creation of an Investment Portfolio

The diploma thesis aims on creation of investment portfolios with their creation. When creating will be based on economic results issuers. The theoretical part will describe the methods that will lead to this result. In particular, the determination of the intrinsic value of the shares and the influence of other issuer indicators that affect the final decision whether to buy the company's shares or not and, if so, what quantity. Portfolios will be created in 2017 with yearly adjustment.

ICT Support for Investment Portfolio Creation

This bachelor thesis deals with an approximation and explanation of processing of individual portfolios especially for clients of financial consulting companies, which are focused on the mediation of investment products. The aim is to create ICT support system, primarily for beginning consultants in the company. The main emphasis is based on the fact that the created software is intuitive, efficient and effective instrument to assist in the compilation of portfolios for the final investor.
Development and Debt Management in the Czech Republic

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the development of the government debt in the Czech Republic, in particular in terms of its structure, the assessment of the sustainability of the current government debt level and the assessment of the setting and operation of debt management in the Czech Republic, in comparison with the recommendations of important international institutions. Used will work primarily analytical, synthetic and comparative methods. The first chapter introduces the theoretical definition of the concepts of public debt, including its causes, impacts and forms of coverage. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the theoretical approaches in the sphere of governement debt management. The next chapters assess the development of the government debt in the Czech Republic, its structure, institutional solution and overall debt management. Finally is evaluated the sustainability of the Czech Republic's current indebtedness and realized the comparison of debt management with IMF and World Bank recommendations.
