Instructive Picture in the Fundaments of Humanities and Sciences and its Historical Perspective

This diploma thesis was written in cooperation with the National Pedagogical Museum and Library of J. A. Comenius in Prague. It deals with the vast area of instructive pictures and especially with their potential use in teaching elementary school pupils science, mainly in the second year of elementary schools. The diploma thesis seeks to determine the significance of the instructive picture in its historical perspective, to state whether even nowadays the instructive picture is still a valid teaching aid in teaching of sciences in the educational process. The first, theoretical part of the thesis, the basic concepts concerning the instructive picture, didactic means and the so important psychological approach to perception of pictorial materials are determined. A considerable part of the thesis focuses on the historical development of the school instructive picture in general and on its development in sciences in particular. Also included is a thorough study of the teaching process with the use of rare instructive pictures in the past and the current aims of teaching sciences at present are presented. PhDr. Vladimír Rambousek, CSc. ABSTRACT: This thesis deals with phenomena of spatial visualization, application of spatial visualization in instruction and its educational specifics. The present thesis addresses the questions of definition of spatial visualization in instruction, specification of educational specifics and exploration of the relations between spatial visualization and cognitive processes. The experimental part of the thesis is focused on relations between the form of presentation of subject matter (planar visualization and spatial visualization), spatial intelligence, or the ability of mental rotation and the results of learning at students of lower secondary (ISCED 2) school. Elaboration of the theory given field of educational means, the thesis seeks to contribute to the development of theoretical bases of pedagogy with the context of increasing importance of technology for support education. Bachelor thesis deals with creation of didactic aid for environmental educa-tion. The thesis has theoretical and practical parts. The aim of the theoretical part is to acquire the knowledge from professional sources to clarify the basic con-cepts related to environmental education in connection with the educational paths and didactical aids with a focus on the worksheets and the principles of their cre-ation. The partial aim is to approach the issue and importance of nature trails. The methods used for the theoretical part are analysis, comparison and synthesis. The aim of the practical part of the bachelor thesis is the creation of a worksheet, which will be used in the framework of the already existing educational trail "We Recognize Rajhradsko". The worksheet is processed for the selected part of the nature trail. Another aim of the practical part is to develop a methodical recom-mendation for teachers, how to work with the worksheets and what competencies will be developed for pupils in this activity.

The bachelor thesis "Teaching tools in teaching of graphic design" focuses on creating didactic tools, namely worksheets, which will be used in the teaching of graphic design in a professional subject „writing and typography“. Due to the great variety of graphic design in which we are constantly surrounded by it, it is very important to pre-pare proficient graphic designers for the job market who have the professional knowled-ge of this field. In spite of the widespread use of this field, there is only a very small amount of specialized literature on the Czech scene. The theoretical part ot thesis focuses on the characteristics of the study field of graphic design with a focus on classical and computer graphics, graduate profile, defi-ning the concept of didactic tool and its division. In the practical part is characterized the field of graphic design and its basic divi-sion. The main aim of the practical part is to create teaching tools - worksheets to support the teaching of the subject „writing and typography“ (PTY), which is one of the core subjects in the first year of study. These worksheets are designed for all pupils and contain the most important information. Individual worksheets also contain methodolo-gical sheets for teachers.
A Didactic Aid for Teaching of Geography in the 6th Grade of Basic School in the Environment of ArcGIS Online

The main goal of the thesis is the creation of a didactic aid in the environment of ArcGIS Online for a geography textbook, which contains basic information from geography for the 6th grade of basic education. Another goal is the application of the designed aid at a chosen basic school and the following questionnaire survey aiming at the created aid. The thesis also deals with the basic information about didactic instruments, geographic information systems and their utilization in education, environment of ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, QGIS and the problematic curriculum in geography of the 6th grade of basic education. Last but not least, the procedure of creating this didactic aid is included here as well.

Preparation of teacher at small-class school

Small-class school is a kind of school where two or more classes are taught together. This type of organization is demanding for teachers, their lesson planning and the whole learning process. Important part of small-class teacher's activity is indirect pedagogical work. It means organization of regular or irregular activities which are necessary for socio-cultural function of those schools in a village. It is possible to label small-class schools as alternative schools where unconventional teaching methods are used. Main goal of this thesis was to find out which types of teaching methods and didactic tools are used most frequently in small-class schools. Other goals of this thesis were to describe a range of indirect pedagogical work and co-operation of small-class schools with special pedagogues.
