Serova, Ekaterina ; Pešička, Jiří (advisor) ; Bischofová, Jana (referee)
Publicism of the last period of the totalitarism (Rudé právo in 1989) The theme of the thesis is based on political journalism of the last period of the totalitarism in Czechoslovakia in 1989. The leading communist daily, Rudé právo 1989 is used as the main source of the analysis. The work is divided into two parts. The first part is related to the short historical review of the communism era in Czechoslovakia since the so called Victorious February in 1948 till 1988, when the first anti-government demonstrations occurred. The second part is focused on the critical historical moments in 1989 ("Palach Week" in January 1989, petition "A Few Sentences" in July 1989, anti-government protests in August and October 1989, the collapse of the communism regime in November caused by the Velvet Revolution, the unanimous vote by the Federal Assembly). Meanwhile there is a following practical part. Its main purpose is interpretation and analysis of the articles in order to show examples of the ideological influence of the language.

Participation of supporters of the civic association Million Moments in the democratic process
Vlčková, Adéla ; Císař, Ondřej (advisor) ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee)
Engagement and proactivity of the general public in democratic process is essential for a stable and functional democracy. Participation of citizens in the political environment can be expressed by either elections or by other forms of political involvement. Current research shows that political participation requires skills, motivation to get involved and support of a group of public actors. Million Moments for Democracy is a civic organisation who support and cultivate political culture in Czechia. This work examines the supporters of the civic movement. The results show that the supporters is a group that has higher individual resources, higher political interest and distrust of the government. The supporters of the civic organisation more politically participate, especially in the activities that the organization emphasizes. The model of belonging to the association showed that the fact that the organisation was originally a protest movement cannot be ignored. Demonstration of Scattered Context Grammars with Single Context-Sensitive Rule
Holas, David ; Klobučníková, Dominika (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
The goal is to create an application that constructs scattered context grammars with single context-sensitive rule from queue grammars, and derives strings using them. The application presents the whole process to user in form of plain text or HTML. In order to derive strings, the heuristic is used to reduce the number of applicable rules in each sentential form. Applicable rules can be selected manually by the user in order to alter derivation process. Two errors were discovered in underlying theory of thesis. Specifically in transformation of queue grammars into first normal form and the construction of scattered context grammars with single context-sensitive rule. A partial solution to the second error was found and is implemented in application.

Activities of the Police of the Czech Republic during Demonstrations
DVOŘÁK, Petr
The general public is interested in actions of the Police of the Czech Republic during demonstrations fuelled by the political situation and the rise of various extremist movements. Demonstrations are always covered by the media and people often express their opinion about the operation of specialized units of the Czech Police. Due to the non-ending discussions, I consider this theme to be interesting and topical for its processing in this bachelor thesis. The thesis defines the basic concepts, the specifics of the Police of the Czech Republic, i.e. its tasks, obligations and authorizations to intervene, use coercive means, procedures and tactics to control riots. Furthermore, the work outlines individual units of the Czech Police intervening during the demonstration,s such as the anti-conflict team, the specialized unit for riot control and the unit for reinstatement of order. Last but not least, the thesis focuses on the demonstration participants who profess some kind of political belief. As an example and a fact of interest, the deployment of the riot control unit of the South Bohemian Region in period 2010 1st half of 2016 is described, which proves that the need for this riot control unit is increasing steadily. The information contained in the thesis can be beneficial not only for students, but also for the general public.
