Jaroslav Rudiš and Czech-German relations in his work

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is the work of contemporary Czech writer Jaroslav Rudiš, who gained quite a success in German speaking countries. The goal of this thesis is to introduce him and his personality and analyze his novels from the perspective of Czech-German relations. This thesis is the first one to introduce author's biography and his opinions concerning Czech-German area. In the next part of this thesis his novels such as Nebe pod Berlínem, Alois Nebel, Grandhotel and Konec punku v Helsinkách are studied from the perspective of Czech-German relations. The focus is to capture historical, intercultural and language motives, which are enhanced by expert commentary.
Contemporary Czech Prose and its Interpretation for Grammar Schools

This thesis reflects the contemporary Czech prose and its teaching at high schools. Theoretical chapters are focused on factors influencing the literature tuition at high schools: psychological and readers' profile of an adolescent student, high school particular environment from the teachers' perspective as well as state curriculum scope. In some respect the proposal of the own literary seminar aims with its concept to follow the ingrained scheme but there are some obvious aspects of innovation. The practical part tackles the didactic interpretation of the novel "Hastrman" by Miloš Urban and its usage when preparing two teaching units according to the proposed literary seminar concept. There is also a reflection of the proposed lesson preparations check up and finally are also mentioned the possible modifications in the concept as well as in those preparations. Women for Women: Women's Fiction in 21st century

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na současnou českou literaturu pro ženy psanou ženskými autorkami, a to zejména z hlediska čtenářů jejího dominantního žánru, červené knihovny. Cílem je popsat, jak dané autorky pracují s tradičními schématy žánru, nakolik realizují tradiční narativní schémata a jak tato schémata vnímají čtenářky preferující tento žánr. , Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a výzkumnou část. V teoretické části jsme popsali stručný vývoj žánru jako součásti populární literatury a jeho charakteristické rysy. Základem výzkumné části je sociologické čtenářské šetření rozdělené na kvantitativní a kvalitativní. V kvantitativní části jsme provedli širší čtenářský průzkum formou dotazníků. Kvalitativní část je založena na analýze děl vybraných autorek, kterou jsme vedli pomocí volného hloubkového rozhovoru s úzkým okruhem respondentek. Tímto způsobem jsme analyzovali knihy Otcomilky od Simony Monyové, u knihy Bestiář od Barbary Nesvadbové a Tajné knihy Ireny Obermannové. Reception Story of Novels by Miloš Urban

The thesis deals with the author's personality and the novels of Miloš Urban. The aim was to map their existing reception, especially with regard to the development and reflection of author's style and appearance of the narrator. With respect that this is the current author and his work is not yet reflected in a separate monographic material consisted the thesis primarily of review works, both published in the literature review journals and those published by the daily press. Work focused on confrontation the perspective of the reviewers and my own critical reading of the author's novels.
Women in the title role

The thesis deals with the analysis of the literary titles and literary female heroines, that entered into the title of a literary work. The theoretical part first discusses the concept of womanhood for two important philosophers - Gilles Lipovetsky in his work, The third wife[1] and Milan Machovec in the publication Philosophy in the face of the demise of[2] . The Centre of gravity of the theoretical basis regarding the literary theoretical categories - titles and literary characters, Josef Peterka textbooks represent the Theory of literature for teachers[3] , the rigorous work of Josef Lesak Poetics in contemporary Czech prose[4] and an extensive theoretical literary publication of Daniela Hodrová . ... on the edge of chaos[5] . The knowledge from the theoretical part is applied to the analytical part of the thesis, which discusses titles of the nine selected literary works and nine female heroines of Czech prose of the 2nd half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, who have been highlighted in the titles of these literary works. Characters of Space in the Trilogy Trýznivé město by Daniela Hodrová

This bachelor thesis aims to interpret the trilogy Trýznivé město (subsuming parts called Podobojí, Kukly and Théta) by the Czech novelist and literary scholar Daniela Hodrová. A complex structure of the novel is in the analysis "opened" through the categories of space and characters; an axis of the thesis is the idea that in the poetics of D. Hodrová, some places can acquire certain features of living creatures (such as memory, free will, temper etc.) and vice versa, that some characters can coalesce with the space they inhabit. In spite of a firm mutual connection between the two categories, they will be discussed separately, in the following order: after having defined the background (using mainly theoretical works of D. Hodrová as secondary sources), firstly, we will focus on the localization of particular topoi (i.e. "literary loaded" places, e.g. the mountain, the pass, the abyss etc.) and on the description of their connotations in terms of the general sense of the trilogy; the attention will be also given to the non-topographical places (i.e. objects or parts of the body).
